While TLG definitely seems to be scrapping the barrel a bit recently with its Wizarding World sets, i vehemently disagree that The Burrow is not an iconic place. Yes, it is a personal thing; and yes, the ppp ratio is very poor, so i ain't saying that will buy it on D1. I’ve really enjoyed how Lego has been including a lot of lesser-known characters who didn’t even appear in the movies. Seeing characters and references like that kind of takes me back to the early sets with that whimsical feel from being based more off of the books and someone decided to give Snape a glow-in-the-dark head.
extremely cool, but $260 is just too high. and wayyyyyyyy too many stickers. lego just using collector edition/usc/etc tags to tack on so much extra money
HP fanboys will eat everything up and LEGO knows that. Not high for them and the market in general (adults with cash), for anything branded ppl are willing to pay more.. this should sell pretty good regardless.
I appreciate how much effort and work goes into the graphics for stickers, but I gotta say, the amount in this set looks ridiculous. I’m fine with stickers being used to represent more difficult details, but at a certain point I feel like the medium of lego loses its charm if stickers are used too heavily in a set That being said, this build is really beautiful! The Burrow is actually one of my favorite buildings in the HP universe, even if it isn’t as iconic as a lot of other locations
I’m following you, I really love the build but when he showed those two sticker sheets I was floored 😵💫😵💫😵 Really unbelievable for this price point. The worst thing is, we’re probably all still going to buy it anyway?
The Burrow is my favourite location in Harry Potter. This set does capture some of the charm of the location, but overall looks quite disappointing. It doesn't seem to make the most out of its size and parts budget. The front door area looks pretty inaccessible and empty, there is not even a suggestion of a staircase, and (as far as I can tell) there is no way in or out of Ginny's room. I think I'm finally going to pick up 75980, it has more charm for less than half the price on the aftermarket. I suppose in some ways this shows what a great designer Wes Talbott is! Great review as always Tiago!
I do like this set alot, featuring most rooms in the movie that are very detailed and the house shows alot of character however a person who has already purchased the older version of the burrow for over half the price you can’t help comparing the 2 and whilst this new set does include some sufficient amounts of new features I can’t quite explain why would you bother replacing the older one when it’s a set that would probably have a greater appeal to the average Lego fan. The only thing I admire Lego for doing is making a model on the bigger side as these sets appeal much more to people despite the price I think. Maybe make even a full quidditch pitch, full hogsmeade, ministry of magic that are all sets that have been made before but haven’t felt as complete as a set like the old burrow did. Anyway slight disappointment for me but I’m just excited to see how this “new version” of the castle turns out! Thank you Tiago
My favorite part of HP is Chamber of Secrets, so I tend to collect every set that's part of that. And especially when it comes to such a magical place as the Burrow. It was a rare glimpse into wizards' ordinary lives. So to me it's a more iconic piece than Hogwarts Express, which Harry didn't even use in a number of books for various reasons. The Burrow also fits really well with Lego's strategy for HP that encourages customers to come back for more with sets that are either modular, mechanical or thematic fit. Ex. the GWP looks like a perfect fit for the Diagon Alley playsets, and before you know it - you can end up having the whole movie on your shelf. It is also more reasonably-sized. My issue with Gringotts is its massive "basement" which I wouldn't know what to do with. I imagine we'll be getting a playset version of Gringotts in the future anyway. So yeah, I'd rather have multiple thematic "complexes" with a ~$250 centerpiece and a bunch of smaller sets around it - than a single $500 set that doesn't really pair with anything; like I'd build it, put it on shelf and then what? And I get it about "scraping the barrel" thing. That's probably the only reason Malfoy Manor will be a thing. It's not such a bad thing, because it opens way for sets which would previously had no chance. UCS Aragog's Lair? UCS Azkaban?
Charlie and Bill surprised me. I agree the details are fantastic. I really like the rooms for the kids. Outside appearance isn't giving me a wow factor.
You’re right, I wasn’t really waiting for this since I love the previous one so much and it feels like I bought it quite recently. Now I have to find a good excuse to buy this one as well 😅
There are still some areas of the castle that I am surprised LEGO hasn't made into sets yet. A library with a restricted section play feature? The wooden bridge with a "exploding" play feature? I'm still hoping for some kind of UCS Quidditch pitch, complete with stands and grounds and towers. Maybe even some blister accessory/blister packs of the various houses so we can build out our favorite teams.
I disagree, the Burrow is very iconic for me. I was honestly surprised it wasn't done before for 18+ Collectors edition. I really wanted to, because I thought it could be amazing in terms of build technics and build creativity. For once, a building that is highly non classical (buildings are sets I find really nice, but always worried about the building experience, and HP (fav theme) has mostly that). I was really expecting this review... and I'm very disappointed... no waouh at all reagrding the build. When that was the primary reason why I wanted this set to exist... And there's something about the overall look, I don't know what/how to explain, but it's not very nice looking for me, probably again disappointed by the shape and technics used.
And even though many are surprised to see Bill and Charlie... I was expecting no less. It would have been a very big mistake, and a major downside to the set to not include all the family! A little something for the Ghoul in the attic would have been perfect (specially since it's the only part of the house very plain).
This set's so zany! The physics-defying lean of the house's upper floors add a magical touch. The mismatched windows and other details add to the funky jerry-built appearance of the building. As for the interior, the number of levels is AWESOME! You get seven levels, that are staggered. And the sheer numbers of play features and Harry Potter easter eggs make this a must have for hardcore Harry Potter fans!
I believe that Arthur Weasley's hat element is the same as used for the Death Eater from 75965, The Rise of Voldemort, but in brown (6284506: MINI FIGURE HAT, NO. 24, per BrickSet).
I feel like the Biro kind of feels like home to a lot of people especially sense most of the people who watched Harry Potter growing up are adults now and have money to spend on large sets like this and personally I think the Biro is a really iconic place in Harry Potter
The Burrow sticker sheet? No, LEGO. No, no, no. I would glady give up the Weasley Clock and the Floo Network GWPs for more printed pieces. Is there a single HP related print piece here? The Hogwarts Express had at least the printed ticket tile and Gringotts the coins and the marble columns. This is so cheaply done.
As an much much older HP collector I love having a full building and would like to see more in 18+ sets. Let’s face it - we don’t play with them, we display them. I think we were really spoilt with Gringotts last year. It’s virtually impossible to top. Personally I loved the Mandrake but Buckbeak looked like he was designed by a child. Thanks for a great review. ❤ from Australia
18+ sets NEED to have prints, period. Lego does this for the 4+ sets, so no more excuses. This set is $260, don’t tell me they can’t make a strong profit and focus hard on special printed parts for their sets… for context, the mini figs are full of printing; time to demand it with our wallets (or rather, lack thereof…)
I think that The Burrow is a very significant and iconic location which deserves a spot in the UCS lineup. It’s the only place other than Hogwarts where Harry felt truly at home (and it’s fabulously cozy and charming).
I am a huge Lego and Harry Potter fan and the Burrow does make my heart feel warm, so in my eyes this isn’t such a weird choice for a set subject. I love how crooked the building looks. However, when you showed those two sticker sheets… man, for that price, it really has wayyyy too many stickers!

Imho the Burrow is in fact a pretty iconic place, BUT, from what I have seen, this collectors edition doesn't seems exponentially better than the previous release as "Attack on the Burrow". This new iteration has double the number of pieces but unfortunately it's NOT the double of better.
What "competition"? Mega? They are like an exception. Most other toymaker companies that produce brick-based construction sets regularly use stickers in their products. Heck, CaDa sometimes even uses stickers that go over multiple connected bricks and/or plates.
I´m totally up to you! It feels like TLG picked here randomly a building out of the Franchise to bringe it on shelfs. The Gringotts Bank has been an iconic place in the movies and looks fantastic (even if the underground hasn´t been a necessary build for me). Same for the Diagon Alley. But this set feels a bit displaced for me (only in the movie it has been burned down - in the books nothing like this ever happened). So waht´s that special about it!?! In my eyes it looks like a "playset" and not like a "UCS" one. Sure the rooms are build very well sand a lot of easter eggs are in, but I´m missing THAT one specific extra which triggers me. For me not worth the price as I´m missing the great added value related to the originally released playset...
I wholeheartedly disagree, the burro is one of the most important places within Harry Potter. I'm glad it got this level of rendering as a Lego set. A GWP where it's the attack on the burrow would have been a neat idea. Or maybe that could be a set they make.
Just started collecting Lego like 2 months ago. Decided on Harry Potter and now I can't keep up with all the new sets haha. Going to be a few expensive months ahead with noodles and can food for a while 🤣
Yeah, I started this year as well, although only focusing on a few impressive sets (so the most expensive 🙃) but yeah, same issue here to catch up. Specially with all the sets retiring next year, so to buy almost in a hurry without be able to spread expenses over time 😅 Started with Castle and Ground, them Ford Anglia (love cars) which is now hanging from the ceiling above the Hogwarts Express ^^ Icon, Diagon alley and Gringotts retiring next year damn! Well for a start I need a bigger flat 😂
Don't forget that many of these sets will go on some kind of discount, so you actually can save money if you wait and don't buy day 1....it can be hard to wait tho! Lol
I have the previous (city size) version sitting in the corner of a room and still feel cheerful every time my eye falls on it. But being able to open it doesn't make me as happy as sliding out the hidden town house for example, so a UCS version wouldn't add much for me. It's the wonky shape of the house that's iconic, not the interior.
The Burrow and the rumoured Malfoy Manor set coming out next year should have switched places. The content within Malfoy manor in and of itself is more appropriate for adults (torture, severing a hand, massacre) than kids and thus is more deserving of the 18+ collector's tag. The manor is also considerably bigger and more imposing and would make for quite the display piece, unlike what its playset counterpart will likely lack in come next year. The Burrow was recently done as a playlet in 2020, yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it couldn't do without a refresh provided that new figures and/or an upgraded build were included. Regardless, despite the inclusion of all the Weasley figures and some nice references, I do agree that this set was an unnecessary choice for a "Collector's Edition." TLG could have picked better and hopefully they do so with next year's CE set.
I disagree with Tiago on this one - The Burrow is a far more iconic location than Gringott's Bank. Maybe it can't be made to look as fantastic as Gringott's, and maybe it's a more important location in the books than in the movies, but I'm very pleased that they've given The Burrow the full 18+ treatment. It's going to be the first HP set that I'll buy, although the excuse is that it's for my wife because she's a red-head and can't resist having that many red-headed minifigs.
The real icon for the next few years will be the massive Hogwarts castle that's being released over multiple sets. Aside from that, it seems like they're releasing sets in chronological order as well, with the docks and great hall representing the first book, and this one representing the second. Next year we may get a Hogsmade CE set, if the trend continues.
I think the rubber duck would be funnier somewhere else in the house like the living room since Mr. Weasley is still in the process of figuring it out. Putting it in the bathroom makes it seem like he knows what it’s for
I really hope malfoy manor is real next year and not just a rumor. I think that could be as legendary as Gringots. I’m excited about the burrow but mostly because I didn’t get the first one.
I prefer the 2020 smaller set. I think this is a good set for collectors though. It is an iconic location and fits representing the second film. Maybe next we will see Azkaban
I feel like LEGO might have blown the majority of their printed element budget for the entire 2024 catalog on The Great Deku Tree, and now a bunch of other large 18+ sets are getting ridiculously large sticker sheets to compensate. 😅
My only issue with this set is the inclusion of the short legs for Harry, Ron and Ginny, they should have been the medium legs at least. The actors were already getting taller in the second film, and I think the only sets where the main cast should have short legs would be sets based on the first film.
This set is catered for the HP Lego fans, the group who is screaming for a detailed Burrow set. I think Lego has made a great move in releasing this Burrow Collector’s Edition set.
Have you ever considered measuring a set's weight instead of its piece count compared to the price tag? Piece count seems like such an arbitrary metric when pieces come in so many sizes. The volume of plastic you get seems like a more sensible way to understand where the money goes.
Seems like a good set, but it's probably a good thing 75980 isn't on the shelves anymore. Because while this sure is more impressive and detailed, it's also 2,6 times as expensive. And I just don't really see that much additional value here. And at that price still so many stickers....
liked the review until he complained about it being a set for the last 3 minutes, this absolutely deserved to be a collectors set, it's one of the most important locations in the entire series

What "competition"? Mega? They are like an exception.
Most other toymaker companies that produce brick-based construction sets regularly use stickers in their products. Heck, CaDa sometimes even uses stickers that go over multiple connected bricks and/or plates.
@@subraxas Cada, Funwhole, Pantasy, Mouldking, etc all have prints NO STICKERS
So happy they didn't forget about Charlie since Lego is more focused on the movie universe of Harry Potter
What lego set is this in 7:47???? Is this the new ucs Jabba Sail Barge? Or did i miss something???
No it's the droideka
Entire weasley family - AWESOME. Not gonna lie though build looks super lame, I think you gotta be a real super fan to get excited about this
Right? It's just an old looking cottage or something. Nothing awe inspiring like the Castle sets, or any of the other builds I mentioned
@@TiagoCatarinoyeah…it’s quite underwhelming. Have you received the Zelda set to review yet? I’m kinda feeling buyers remorse for how much it cost…
I wholeheartedly disagree, the burro is one of the most important places within Harry Potter. I'm glad it got this level of rendering as a Lego set. A GWP where it's the attack on the burrow would have been a neat idea. Or maybe that could be a set they make.
I mean... There's already two attack on the burrow sets
Very thoughtful and balanced review
"Erry Potter" - Tiago Catarino
😀 😀
LOL
I like the older smaller Burrow set more. It’s so much cheeper too.
I do like (and really want ) all the mini figures
Just started collecting Lego like 2 months ago. Decided on Harry Potter and now I can't keep up with all the new sets haha. Going to be a few expensive months ahead with noodles and can food for a while 🤣
welcome,i have been collecting my whole life
Yeah, I started this year as well, although only focusing on a few impressive sets (so the most expensive 🙃) but yeah, same issue here to catch up. Specially with all the sets retiring next year, so to buy almost in a hurry without be able to spread expenses over time 😅
Started with Castle and Ground, them Ford Anglia (love cars) which is now hanging from the ceiling above the Hogwarts Express ^^
Icon, Diagon alley and Gringotts retiring next year damn! Well for a start I need a bigger flat 😂
@@alexandre7946 no one cares
Don't forget that many of these sets will go on some kind of discount, so you actually can save money if you wait and don't buy day 1....it can be hard to wait tho! Lol
@alexandre7946 Pretty cool idea to have the Anglia fly about the Hogwarts Express! Yes there are so many sets, and space is always the issue lol
the burrow was always one of my favorite HP locations, its so cozy, I may get this
The last Burrow set is my favourite of all my lego sets so I'm so excited to get this one cos I know I'm going to love it even more 😍
I have the previous (city size) version sitting in the corner of a room and still feel cheerful every time my eye falls on it. But being able to open it doesn't make me as happy as sliding out the hidden town house for example, so a UCS version wouldn't add much for me. It's the wonky shape of the house that's iconic, not the interior.
Great Review! I personally love this LEGO Set and I might pick it up at some point when I see it on a great sale!
Would love to see a Lego Sanctum Sanctorum review if possible? Very neat set!
Wizardry and magic, but they can’t fix anything.Very inconsistent writing throughout the series.
He actually is seen in the movies. When the weasleys visit Egypt he’s on the newspaper
Love your review, also what shelves do you have in the background to display your LEGO?
Don’t care much for Harry Potter (don’t hate it either) but that structure by itself, looks very cool and well designed.
Putting it in the bathroom makes it seem like he knows what it’s for
This set is amazing, I love its almost half the price of the other collectors sets
I really hope malfoy manor is real next year and not just a rumor. I think that could be as legendary as Gringots. I’m excited about the burrow but mostly because I didn’t get the first one.
I could see that happening!
OH MY GOD CHARLIE AND BILL??? I AM SCREAMING I NEED THIS SI BAD
Is it 2x as good as the old Burrow-Set? I highly doubt it.
Try doing a comparison between the different LEGO Burrow versions.
I really really hate how the Zelda set costs more than this lol, the BotW fanboy in me is screaming
I know…having a hard time with my purchase…that I haven’t received yet
School is misspelled on the Weasley clock. 😅
I have to say, the exterior is a little lacking. The interior is fine.
OMG the Bill minifig even has the ponytail!
I think it's more about scale. The set features children, teenagers, young adults, and adults, so they wanted some differences between them.
@@jardex2275 I can follow that logic. I’m more annoyed by the fact that the short legs don’t bend I suppose.
It's all relative.
Well I am impressed and waiting on my set in the mail.
Collector's Edition? Will there be a standard edition?
That was an amazing review
Burrow is VERY iconic :D
Oh Boy, I can't wait!
Ginny will actually end up playing for the Holyhead Harpies
You r the goat. Love the reviews
I think the burrow deserves a luxury treatment but 2 sticker sheets aint it.
Please make a video comparing all 18+ Harry Potter Lego sets 🙏🏽
for the price - they should be printed pieces rather than stickers...for the piece count it should be £150 at the most
Seems like a good set, but it's probably a good thing 75980 isn't on the shelves anymore. Because while this sure is more impressive and detailed, it's also 2,6 times as expensive. And I just don't really see that much additional value here. And at that price still so many stickers....
Wow just wow I already said this great set but a bit expensive ❤️
liked the review until he complained about it being a set for the last 3 minutes, this absolutely deserved to be a collectors set, it's one of the most important locations in the entire series
The way a lego set has more weasleys than the movies
Glad all the potter heads can get the Weasley family all in one set. IMO LEGO has finally realised who’s buying Harry Potter these days. *AFOLs*
If this was a star wars set, there would be five figures tops
1:34 it’s the death eater one from the graveyard set
