This moment is so simple, so viscerally raw with Homer's insecurities being soothed with a simple "lullaby", that it waters my eyes each time I see it. It is my favorite Simpsons moment by far, so much so that I actually sung to my ex one night, and it made him smile.
Big salute to all the Dads out there who sat up late at night in a worry about their job and providing for their families. My dad worked a job he hated for 20 years just to provide for us. He managed to get his dream job long after me and my siblings grew up.

It speaks to the fact that our society is kind of messed up, honestly. Forcing people into work they neither enjoy nor want to do. Your dad should have had the opportunities to do his dream job from the beginning. Society has more than enough labor for most everyone to work a job they find meaning in instead of being forced to extract value for a company in a job they hate for decades. There's no doubt people out there working deadend jobs who want to be a welder. I in fact know multiple welders who love their jobs; Those are the people who should be welding, not the guy who wants to be a paramedic (which is arguably a far more important job to boot, tbh) Happy for your father, but the world is fundamentally wrong for not giving him the tools to do it sooner.
I love this little moment. I can definitely relate to Homer here, because I have self esteem issues, and tend to have a somewhat low opinion on myself. This scene is absolutely beautiful.
I like the small detail of when Marge hugs him his eyes are blinking and looking everywhere around the room in stress, until Marge starts singing and his eyes end focusing on nothing but her

Homer and Marge are truly made for each other and in the old episodes. It shows why their bond still remains strong even now. Too bad it's not on the same level as the golden 90s time. But they are still influential as a couple that sticks together through the highs and lows of married life. This scene is simply a testament of what makes their love strong and special. The 90s Marge and Homer are the real deal of what love should be able to achieve despite all the odds. The way She just comforts him and still loves him so much is still beautiful to see. And homer is just is so cute; in this sweet ending. Love isn't meant, to be perfect but as long as it true. It's all worth it in the end.
Yesterday, I told the guy I love “you are so beautiful to me,” and at first he thought I meant just his looks but I explained myself more. I told him that he’s the most beautiful human being to me because he cherishes simplicity, he’s patient, kind, and understanding. I admire everything about him. (I could really go on). He then said, “that’s the best thing anyone has ever told me.”
I don't care what anyone says, this is one of the most beautiful moments the entire series. Before Matt Groening was able to pull on our heart strings with the futurama episode of fry's dog or Fry being able to tell his mother that he loved her in one of her dreams, this moment brought everyone to tears first.
This. I send this to my partner every time he feels upset and/or insecure about himself; we always chuckle that he's very much like Homer, always eating snacks, oblivious and kind of daft at times but I always comfort him like this reminding him that he's wise, kind, goofy, super sweet and that I love him more than anything in the world. He's a precious man, he is my Homer and I adore him
Yeah. I haven't watch this show for a couple years because while I may not be from the 90s and early 2000s I am enjoying their shows and seasons more and most are my childhood. (Early seasons) but to my opinion 1 - 9 is the golden age of the Simpsons, lost tune and golden age during "The Principal and the Paupler" but 10 had some moments, while after I stop watching because 10 did give me some warnings of what is to come.

But I really stop after season 9, with watching some season 10, but stop watching a couple of years ago. My grandfather (gone now) said of my grandmother "If I told her she's perfect, and she didn't agree, I'd still say she's perfect, because she's perfect for me." Because that is what perfection is, the gross product of imperfections seen by another to be something that is one of a kind and irreplaceable.
I love this ending. Homer may not have everything he dreamed about, he still has his wife and his kids, and he gets paid at his job. Marge still thinks he's beautiful to her.
Love this scene! My hubby has moments like that and like Marge there, I remind him that I’m so proud of the man he has become and how he supports us. He is so beautiful to me :).

I like how Homer embraces what marge says and when he starts singing along and says " i am so beautiful to you". He cares and loves marge just as much as she loves him because he embraces when she says hes beautiful to her. Its so wholesome because lots of times you can tell a significant other they are beautiful, but many times they respond with " no i am not" which hurts when someone you love doesn't value you compliment especially when its something you say from the heart.

The first two seasons felt a lot more realistic, an animated sitcom with it’s fair share of serious moments, it wasn’t until season three where Homer became a lot more crazier.
My ghost friend Marsha was sung this song by a woman who noticed she was upset by not getting the yearly job she dreamed of because of her new look. It went something like this: “you are so beautiful to me. You are so beautiful to me. Can’t you see? You’re everything that god hoped for. You’re everything that he needs. You are so beautiful to me.” She was smiling the whole time and wiping away some tears too.
homer is not a perfect man or a great father but he remains loyal to Marge regardless of his downfalls and Marge loves homer despite his flaws. most people won't agree but they are a perfect couple.
pound for pound this is imo the best moment in the entire series because it shows something a lot of men deal with but are deeply afraid to admit, or simply cannot handle. self-image issues are a huge, huge deal that can impact every moment of your life and make you feel fat, ugly, worthless to everyone, like a failure. And often times we push that down and just live with it, angry, bitter, and sad because no one is around for us to actually talk to or be open with. Marge is doing something incredible here in making Homer not only feel better, but he happy with his own body and ability in life. Just because you're not a supermodel, or you're overweight, or you are bald, doesn't mean you don't have worth. But it also doesn't mean you shouldn't feel anything- It's your right to feel sad sometimes, or to need encouragement. There are a lot of toxic people who will tell you "Men shouldn't care what they look like" or "men shouldn't show their emotions" who are pathetic in their own right, and should be soundly ignored. Your self-esteem, self-image, etc issues are real, they're valid. If you have someone in your life who helps you through them like this you are very lucky.
Nothing makes me happier than the fact that we have this kind of Homer once again. Please check out the episode "Pixelated & Afraid" if you can- put aside your "modern simpsons is bad" biases and check out this one episode, please.
