That was a really amazing tutorial, thank you. It would be even more amazing if you played the piece in its entirety at the end, or post a separate video of you playing it :) It is hard to find videos of people playing solo in high quality
What a GREAT tutorial...the best I've seen...most leave out the explanations of the pitfalls one will experience; however, you address these and truly teach the song. Thank YOU!
canon in d got me started, the desire to learn music. That was more than 20 years ago when I heard my daughter p laying it on the piano. Few years ago, my vision started to go and why not learn the violin. Finding a violin reacher who understands my challenges was difficult. I appreciate whay I have. Any additional resources is definitely helpful. I cannot thank you enough.
Gosh, I never tire of watching this video!! I’m learning a LOT from you on how to play canon. AND I love hearing you play it!! Your A for amazing!!❤️👌😃🎻this song makes me cry because of its beauty!! 🤗😢
Awesome, thank you. After the initial shift from 3rd I'd been playing the entire piece in 2nd position. You thorough and thoughtful analysis is greatly appreciated! 🐱
I also fell in love with this song when I first heard it. I hope I can someday play this piece like you do... even if it's a few micrometers away from your technique, Ill be very happy.
thank you ma'am, im selflearning violin and i always wonder when shd i change to third position and use the forth finger and you really helped me out a lot with that, especially the top view and your interpretation... please do more similar videos!!
And also..... thank u I needed this desperately!! I bought a metronome to help me too. 😃🤗🎻your so right about in phase 2 about gliding into the next note instead of waiting n risking the wrong note.... glide after open string!! Cool!!!😃how can I learn the trill??? I love that!!!!
I love it too! I’m trying to learn it for Christmas 2020. I want to play it for an online Christmas pageant. Even tho it’s not a Christmas song..... it’s so beautiful tho!! 😃❤️🤗🎻
Rajesh Kumar it’s really hard!! Lol I’ve watched the video n switched the speed down really slow and play along to better my finger placement!! Good luck to you too!❤️😃👌👊👏🤗
@violinlab A great video Mrs. Blackerby, could you please upload the second part to youtube or update the link because it isn't working anymore, thank you as always, you are a great teacher, I learned a lot from you and I will always be very grateful to you.
The overhead camera shots are fabulous. It's great to see her thumb placement in each position. Do violinist's use the heel of the neck as a reference for muscle memory when they go to the 3rd position?
Hallo Violin Lab channel. I love your videos. They are methodical, educative und practical. Your style pedagogical I like it. Thanks. Could you post the theme "Adios Nonino" and "Libertango" or "Oblivion" by Astor Piazzolla?, please. Thanks.
Hi. I use to watch your teaching violin vedios very well. It is really helpful and I appreciate it so much. By the way, is there any full playing Canon in D vedio clip without any pause? I would love to listen to your full playing first.
I don't know your name madam BUT jesus you saved my life XDD i had to do this sheet and i was like *jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee i can't do that first shiiiift * and now i'm perfect on it :D Thank you x 200000000000000000000000000000000 love you so much Congrats if only you were my violin teacher

Hi. This is the best Canon tutorial on TH-cam. A question that don’t has to do with the piece, I wonder if a violin bow made by snakewood has a great sound. Some out there says it common for barock but how is it for modern classical music? Thanks for sharing. //Jose
me neither... and i really need it because im playing it for my exam and i just based the first bit on how she plays it :o have you still not found it?
Terrific explanations - fantastic! I let go of my student violin a few months ago but looking to take it back up. Would you recommend a brand or specific characteristic(s) to look for in my next violin?
check out the channel fiddlerman, he tests out violins from various brands and you can buy them on his online shop (or on amazon or so). the price range reaches from 200 $ to 2000$ if i am not mistaken :) one for 1500$ is a replica from a cremona and sounds absolutely beautiful.
Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me how many bpm you are playing this at? What is the standard bpm that this piece is usually played at? I'm trying to figure out how fast I should play it :) Thanks!
What does "legato detache" on the sheet music mean? AFAIK, legato is kind of slurring, while detache is playing the notes separately. But it seems two technique cannot be applied at the same time... Thanks!
oi por favor teria como você colocar legendas em português em todos os seus vídeos pois curto o jeito como você ensina mas não sei nada de inglês obrigado pelo bom trabalho
Also when I hit the link for part 2 it said link not found?!😕 when I got in another way n subscribed n then went looking for part 2 of this video but couldn’t find it?? Can you help me?
That's my first comment on TH-cam. I am really grateful for this video. I love it. Question: where can I find this kind of sticker? I'm searching everywhere for something like yours but I don't find it. Thank you so much!
Stefania Ct the circle is any sticker. You can find some at the dollar store. There are line stickers that are usually found on amazon as “orchestra finger tape”, or can be found at your local music store😉
