- After spending the past five years looking for my dad, I finally found him and got to meet him in person.

Chances are he would like to meet you, most of the time the mother gets custody and its difficult for the father to get visitation rights and expensive I bet he thinks of you everyday.

Met my father for the first time a few weeks ago at 31. Guy lived 30 mins away from me the entire time. I have 4 siblings as well (I was able to meet them too). I’m the only one with kids so far so he also found out he’s a grandfather. I’m glad I met him now, you process things differently later in life than you would at a younger age. It’s never too late to open that door if you choose to (just prepare for both bad and good outcomes).
We met my husband's son, who was adopted at birth , for the first time about 5 weeks ago. He is now at our house visiting for a few days. He is an amazing 23 year old young man and we are all enjoying getting to know each other. I am so glad to have him in our family.

I’ve only met my dad once.
Me & my brother were young. Like I was 9 and he was 10. He was a nice guy. He couldn’t buy things that modern family could afford.
Most money he had was $60.
He would take us out for McDonald’s, take us for walks. Hang out watch tv.
Then CFS came to apprehend me and my brother.
years later I was able to find his phone number from hard searching.
When i phoned him he sounded very happy.
We talked, I asked him questions why he couldn’t be there for us.
Only vague thing I remember was “I wasn’t mature. I couldn’t afford to keep you kids. I’m sorry son.”
I’d regularly call him.
One day he said he was sick.
On the day March 11th 2015
He passed away.
Even though you didn’t spend enough time with us.
Even though you weren’t there for us.
I love you Dad.

Child support kills us dads. We.can hardly afford to survive. I mean that literally. These horrid laws are designed to create so !much misery, it's like the state wants us to kill ourselves. I love my sons more than anything,but their mother wants me to give up and die
My 9 year old son is going to meet his dad for the first time next month. There's an emptiness in all three of our lives, and I'll do anything to give all of us a chance for the life we should have had.

I just came across this video. I hope everything went well for you and your dad. My husband finally found out who is dad was (deceased now) and he has met his siblings that he never knew he had. It's been really nice and we are planning on visiting them again soon. I pray that you are able to keep in contact with your dad.
I found my biological father on ancestry but we haven’t met yet but we talk on the phone almost everyday so scared to meet him

Congratulations. I too have found my Father. He actually showed up under people you may know on Facebook. I had been searching for him as long as I could as I remember. At age 26 I finally met him. There is nothing like a fathers embrace. My whole experience has made me a Father's rights activist. I wish you and your new found father the very best everything God Bless . ---CHA
I'm soo glad you found each other. I'm only 17 years old about two months ago I found out that the man who raised me wasn't my dad. I found out on the 28th and my biological father died the 26th of February. I saw pictures of him and I look exactly like him. I was shattered😥I may not have met him or known him but it felt like a peace of me was gone but I did meet my siblings and we look alot like each other.
What I'm trying to say is enjoy moment with him you never know when it might be the last💜

I had to stop early . I am almost 43 and I am seriously crying . As an adoptee I have always been curious and feel deep guilt for being rebellious . I feel sick more often than not about being difficult in my teen years toward the 2 people that opened their hearts and raised me (blessed withgods gift to me). In my forties I feel shame for relucting to reach out earlier . I have a fear that too much time had passed and that I will never meet either . So many unanswered questions
