Yep back watching again, just got notification mine are on the way. I’ve been having such a blast with this new power wagon it is my favorite rig
I just got the treal portal gears in today also!
Glad you like the Treal portal covers. More to come!
Loving these updates, I’ve started designing parts over here at my print studio, Nice to see some brand names jumping on this new truck.
Thanks again for your research and finding the best upgrades! I can't wait until the Treal portal covers are available in Canada!
It's a good sign when the aftermarket gets in the game. Those portal covers and the McCue trailing arm kit to stretch it out would make for a cheap, killer combo...with stock wheels and tires. Great job as always!
The McCue extended are good but what is a good replacement rear drive shaft?? The pinion yoke on the FMS is a half moon so it locks into the factory shaft vs treal steal shafts are a circle female end so you are now relying on there tiny screw for a shear point instead of tension. I don't care for that at all. I'd much rather have a shaft that fits like the factory!
Very nice!! Great to some quality aftermarket parts
Bad ass Matt !! Have mine on order since Mr Uncle Lee (BullgearRC) posted a pic weeks back. should be showing up anytime. I made the decision to get both knowing that the rear is where is needed the most. Hopefully soon the steering links will be next them things are so flimsy and weak. Rock On 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Matt.
This "S" vs "F" is totally cool! Axial had a great design that fit a niche. $120 buckos and you were a rock crawler. Highly modded, weak links of course appeared. Axial just produced variations on the same theme. The "aftermarket" ignored the 600lb gorilla.
Now SCX24.2 (the FCX24) has appeared and been a smash! Brass will proliferate. Let us hope the "aftermarket" addresses and not ignores the weak links in the design as the "S"cx24!
My opinion only! Super SPECIAL HEY to Liam!
Best regards to you and your family,
John Hrichak
Mccue has steering links too. I'm glad to see some brass for these thing .Hopefully treal will get us some overdrive gears.
Yeah I have a set of those also. Need to install them still.
Just to add info to the video after 2 months.
The issue with the fitment of the wheels cam be remedied with the treal hubs. I've got the treal axles and covers. Had them for a while the same way as yours then got the hubs and was surprised to find out the difference.
Treal hubs are 2mm wider to clear portals and also seal front portal cover aginst the dirt.
Yep I’ve got some of those as well now. I actually like the Samix 6mm hex to widen it even more. Most wheels fit with no issues when running them! Glad we finally have some choices for these things instead of modding Scx24 stuff lol
Super cool I will be ordering a set tomorrow,
Getting my FCX24 tomorrow. Should order these now so I can play with it stock, then mod it once they come in. Still need to do the full treal brass on my Redcat Everest Pro gen 7.
One of the best benefits of adding weight so low is in roll. If your ramp is wide enough you could put the car sideways and illustrate the benefits there as well.
Yeah I should’ve did a sidehill test on vid but the weight down low will definitely help it.
Back watching again Matt, now they come out with aluminum inner portal box and links tie rods super cool, just got my brass outer covers, I got two sets, I just put on the front waiting on my limited addition, then I’ll put the other set on the front of that one later down the road I’ll get some for the back, only one bolt hole in the outer cover on other holes are stripped can’t wait to get the aluminum inner box
Yesssss! I bought the inners for the same reason! One of mine stripped as well. Can’t wait to get them!
Wow already sold out.
great video as always
Can you try maybe some rusty old tiny chains wrapped across the rear axle? Just a thought for additional "weight". Maybe (edited) pop back the spare tire and cage? 😃 video content 👌 keep'em coming!! Thank you!!
Sold out already!!! Dang
Thanks for a great video! Would you recommend upgrading any of the stock FCX electronics if we decide to go this route of using the Treal portal covers in both the front and rear?
Really appreciate it! The motor should be fine with that weight. Only thing I really like to upgrade on the fcx24 is the servo just because eventually the servo horn likes to strip out. They have slightly beefed it up on the newer models but I like a really strong servo anyway. You should be fine with the stock electronics though.
Yeah buddy a pair of little tweezers, I picked up a pair and it has a light yeah for sure little button in the light comes on right down the middle of the tweezers they are awesome dude, found them at Menards
All we need now is the inner brass portal box yeah
I wanna get a set of those portals so bad but I just keep telling my self wait for some more parts to come out for the portals
Those portal covers seem to make quite a difference! Let's see them with the McCue stretch. Pushing the extra weight back might help on the descent? Do those +3mm hubs work on Treal wheels?
I been meaning to try them. The extra weight on a stretch rig will really make a difference for sure!
I have a tractor, and I have learned a lot about weight distribution and ballast, mostly from pucker factor. The weight on the back and not the front will definitely hurt your steering.
Niceeeeee. Gotta order those for my moa fcx24
Awesome!! Are the fcx axles wider than the scx axle’s? You should do a fcx24 rear/4wheel steer build?! Unless you’re not into that lol. It would be cool see!! Another great vid!👍🏼💯
Yeah I now have 4ws on my Olympus bouncer that’s running the fcx24 axles. With the stock electronics on the fcx24 the only real way to do it is have it on a switch and it’s not proportional so to me it’s useless lol. I’m not a big 4ws guy but I already had it on the Olympus so I kept it when I swapped the axles. I’m gonna get a vid up of that thing soon!
Thinking about stealing all the axles an trans for my atlas an upgrade from there. Surprisingly haven’t picked one of these up yet but that’ll change here soon.
Hey Matt I just ordered a set of wheel nuts they have them in brass or stainless steel comes with 10 in a bag so I ordered one of each and they are long nuts they are tall so your wrench will reach and you could tighten up I’m waiting on them now, for I could put my mofo super deep dish aluminum bead locks on but can’t mountain because of the nuts are too skinny, +3 Is too much the zero perfect for the super deep dish rims
really needs an over drive option, it helps with both the uphill and downhill sections
Yes it does! My scx24 with the overdrive transmission and these axles is unstoppable!
Ooowe I want some 🔥🔥😎👍
Sold out!! 😕 The portal covers
Hey Matt will a flysky gt5 work on fcx24 with the stock esc ?
No I tried it. Couldn’t get it to bind
Do you think they will make the trax option that is on the box?
They said they were definitely making everything they show on the box so we will see!
@@2fmrc cool
Keep making these vidos
How's the stock 130 motor feel torque wise compared to a scx24 with a 050 size?
It's more powerful
Much better. Honestly the worm gears on the scx24 kills the power of every motor you put in one. Put the same motor with the fcx24 axles and it’s a totally different beast!
@@2fmrc Nice! Good to know, appreciate the reply, it's nice to see some metal gears and aftermarket stuff coming out already. Always bringing out the latest and greatest! Keep up the great work 👍👍
They're sold out already! I'm sure treal will make more fms parts.
Trying to get a set but of course out of stock
What drive shafts are you all using? Broke my front within an hour of getting out of the box
Yeah that really looks like a weak link on these trucks I've only driven mine a little and it looks like the driveline is hitting the rocks and will easily break if pushed hard
Contact FMS. I did and they sent metal portal gears, drive shafts, and Y links for free. 😁🤘🏻
I contacted FMS. They are totally sending metal portal gears, upgraded drive shaft and upgraded Y link
@@jonathantholen919 they are doing it right!
Just a heads up. I have the mofo wheels and I love them, but with the offset, the nut has to sit inside of the hub/wheel, and due to the larger nut on the FCX24, I haven't been able to get the nut threaded on, and they're deep enough that your bearing trick won't work either ☹
Edit: this is with the mofo deep dish wheels, not sure about the other ones where you buy the outer ring separately
Oh dang! Good info. I need to try my upws soon. Thanks for the heads up!
@@2fmrc No problem!
Nice having some weight available .
That's to much money for what it does .
Pretty pricey!
What happend to that old moa rig ?? I
Sits on the shelf lol. It’s pretty weak
I would weigh both of them to make sure they both weigh exactly the same
🥰🤩💥💯👍👏🤝
This probably just saved me so much money, thanks ✌️. Louisiana plates @wheelsdownrc.
