Pretty all the Incantations, I think the music helped (Good old Destiny 2) I know, Douxie is just one of those characters. At first I didn't like him but now I really do 😅
I believe that Douxie is a character with an exceptionally rich and deeply complex origin story and it would have served him well if they could have made his series in a 2-D animation format and darker in terms of the stylistic motifs and look of Wizards and if it had been more Arthurian and rated PG-16. Had it not been a limited series, I believe that it would have been fantastic opportunity for him to have become a much more prominent figure in the Arcadiaverse or Trollhuntersverse and for the writers to have expanded his series into a more supernaturally-inclined yet endearing series with the Gothic neo-noir existentialism of Gargoyles and the look of the Underworld Franchise mixed with urban fantasy and time travel. I also believe that it would have been fantastic for them to have elevated Zoe's role in the story given how in Teny's unofficial expansion of the canon (which it its own standalone universe and the one that I would consider to be the most faithful to Guillermo Del Toro's original novels and vision for this loose adaptation) she was Douxie's only childhood friend, his most trusted companion and a fierce warrior and mage during the middle ages and their relationship spans centuries and in the Regency period, he came to know as his one true love or "soul-bound." Teny also discusses the role of Douxie's relationship with his mother as bearing the most emotional components of his powers and it being the key behind his motivation to initiate his apprenticeship with Merlin. I additionally think that this franchise would have been so much more visually expansive if they had made it in 2-D animation in a style akin to Todd McFarlane's Spawn. I also believe that they should have also elevated the level of Douxie's introspective nature and grief over his past life given that he has seen humanity evolve in so many ways and yet he still remains constant and unchanging and will never have the chance to grow old and resume his life biologically. That would have been very interesting.
