Can’t believe I’ve never seen anyone else swatch on white paper before. Super helpful to see the undertone. Thank you for all the effort you put in this video. You look beautiful in red, both dress and blush!
Ohhh would love to see a drugstore option, and I know you don't really do ranking videos, but after a second video of red blush, ranking all of them or putting them in categories would be really helpful! Not trying to add any extra work though, I really appreciate everything already put in. And now, you are the second person I see today talking about Basma blush, so I might try to swatch in store.
The one drugstore red blush that comes to mind is the Covergirl TruBlend So Flushed High Pigment Blush in Hot & Frenzy. It’s definitely pigmented. I’m fair-neutral and on me, very little goes a long way. It gives me a sunburnt (but in a good way!) look.
@@lindseyf1943 Catrice also has a liquid red blush, I recall Sleek cosmetics also has a powder one in the shade Flushed - i use that one a lot, great pigmentation and isn't patchy at all.
I bought the Haus Labs Watermelon Bliss during the Sephora sale and absolutely love it. My coloring is light cool olive with salt and pepper hair and dark brown eyes. I actually gasped when I first used it. It doesn't look pink on me at all, it looks like a true red. My favorite blush of all time.
Super helpful! I have salt and pepper hair, brown eyes as well as the olive, thanks I was already learning towards this blush and now I def have to check it out.
I STRONGLY SECOND an affordable version of this video. Loved this one too and the time, effort and thoroughness of it. It would be amazing to see the same for affordable blushes!
I know she didn’t get to the drugstore version of this video, yet, but Moira has some really pretty red blush options. Also Half Caked has a few beautiful red cream blushes that are very affordable.
Mac Flirting with Danger is so underated! I can’t believe no one talks about the Mac Mineralized blush formula. Had mine for a year now and it’s perfect.
I love the clinique black honey cheek pop personally, it pulls quite warm on me so it gives a lovely sunburn-esque flush. Ik it's not a "true" red, but it's a good option for people who don't want to go for a straight up fire engine colour. I also love the Rom&nd blush in the shade fig chip, which is a lot more affordable than clinique. It's more of a brick colour.
Omg, this is beyond great. Seeing the true undertone of the product on white paper is soo helpful and seeing the difference of the blush undertone on your friend is mind blowing!!! As a fair person…I’m so thankful you put this together!! ❤
I am 100% a red blush wearer. I lean more towards cool deep reds rather than the orange/reds, though I enjoy both. Thank you for all of this detail and work!!!!!
This was great! I love the Westman Atelier blush stick in Bichette (described as a red berry) and the Hourglass At Night blush (described as a brick red). The Gucci Soft Red blush has also been on my list!
Amanda I love the paper swatches!!❤️ My fav red blush is Ap’ieu juicy pang water blusher in cherry. The formula is so sheer it doesn’t look too intense on my fair olive skin. I would love to see k beauty and drugstore inclusions since I only splurge on Sephora prices for base products!! ❤️
I really like Rose inc blush in Azalea- it is not cherry bright red but is deeper red and I love it ❤ Was waiting for this video, as I really think red blushes look more flattering on me than baby pinks
I have Nars Exhibit A and I love it. I was intrigued by Dior Cherry, but couldn’t justify buying it. I couldn’t see having two red powder red blushes in my collection. Now, multiple neutral eyeshadow palettes seem to be a good buy based on my current collection.
Thank you for all the comparisons. Another red blush with transparency would be Urban Decay's Hydromaniac blush in the shade Red Flag. These blushes give a watercolour effect to the cheeks. I think you liked the orange shade from this line called Obsessed so you might like Red Flag. A drugstore blush comparison video would be fun to watch too.
I’d love a drugstore version of this! It doesn’t seem like there are many red blushes at the drugstore, but perhaps they’re just not on my radar. Also, thanks for showing these on a second person-that is a great idea for these big comparisons.
Moira has some great red blushes ❤ the shades ILY, Ruby Flush and “I love you” are all different tones of reds that are more wallet friendly. ☺️ Shop miss A also has some super affordable red blushes that I love (a dollar a blush!) ❤️
You did a great job on this video! It was nice to see your friend as a model also. For drugstore, the essence baked blush in Bold Heart is gorgeous on 😍
As far a brick red goes...I've been using Wet N' Wild's Perfect Pout Lip Color in the shade 'Extra Cinnamon, Please' as a BLUSH for years. i know it's a lipstick so please use at you own risk, but if you're going for a brick red blush on a budget (it's like $4), its amazing.
Amanda, you always put so much thought and time into your reviews. Thank you for being so detailed! Whenever I go to purchase a new makeup item, I research it through your videos first! Your content is so helpful! Also, I really appreciated having Katie in this video. Super helpful seeing the swatches on different skin tones. And the shot where you peer into the frame with her is absolutely adorable! I loved that.
I'm floored by how beautiful "Rouge" (from the Merit flush balms) looks! Thank you as always for such a clear, detailed breakdown of the red blushes available on Sephora. I would indeed be very interested to see a drugstore version of this. :-)
I have the CT dream pop blush wand.. I actually really love that one. I have a warm neutral undertone, light medium skin tone. Medium in the summer, that gets more golden. I think the color of the blush looks the best if you are more golden or olive, it doesn’t appear to be pink when it mixes with your undertones then. It would also be good on a tan skin tone with warm undertones. Have you tried the Valentino blush in Rosso Valentino? I have 6 of the Valentino blushes, those are my favorite. I collected them over a couple Sephora VIB sales.
Dear ladies, you can use those mac powder kiss formula lipstick type for this, doesn't have to be mac. Perfect. Also max factor did a lovely baked one, i picked up for £5 new online. Sleek if they're around. Illmasqua and topshop. I know old, but I did red forever. Just my recommendations if you can find them
Oohhh I need the Armani red 100%. This video was everything I wanted! Thank you so, so much. I loved the arm swatches and paper swatches. They were so helpful as was having you show how the shades looked on your model friend, Katie. I’m so glad you mentioned that the Rare Beauty isn’t a true red. I have it, but it’s not! The Armani is what I hoped it would be.
As a person who has always struggled with red blushes, because I do NOT want to look sunburned, I am excited for this content and finally finding my perfect red
I've just found your channel while searching for a good red blusher and I immediately fell in love with your interesting way in talking about every detail that any costumer would need to know.. such a useful review video👏
Recently rewatched devil wears Prada and Anne Hathaway’s red blush in that movie has gotten me back into it so hard. This video was awesome! Pat McGrath electric bloom is another amazing red powder blush (similar to Dior cherry but more pigmented)
I love dior cherry sooo much! and my favourite way to wear it is with Mac glow play in blush please underneath. looks so great and has been my go-to recently!
Everyone on YT keeps trying to claim that bubblegum pink is out but those shades are the ones still selling out at every release... still, it's fun to see other bright blush trends: purple, red, orange.
@@luvlost03Trust, I'm never going back! My point is any other metric suggests pink is still in vogue: new releases, sales, trendmood comments, even influencer "everyday makeup" routines.
This was my second time watching. I have no red blushes because I’ve always been scared to try them (I usually stick to more nude/mauvy pink tones) but oh my gosh now I want to buy all the reds! Lol love your videos
Omg this was soo helpful! I'd LOVEE to see the same but on the viral bubble gum pink, it seems every brand has that colour now and it'll be nice to know the differences and which one to go for :)
watched this and immediately went to do my makeup. I often don't wear blush at all because it makes me feel like I'm way too made-up, but I used Merit Rouge today and left my eyes fully undone and it's the perfect balance.
This video came at the perfect time since I’ve been trying to decide on a red blush. It would be so fun to make this a series where you go through different colors like orange, terracotta, lilac, etc
Wow!!! I was thinking of buying a red blush and watching your video will help me a lot . I can see the undertones, and you mentioning every detail is just very helpful 😘
Thank you so much for this video! Would love a drugstore version. I have a lot of redness on my cheeks from rosacea. I try to tone it down with foundation products and then add what I want back in with blush. Is there a non-powder one that you tried that you feel is least likely to disturb the products underneath?
Oh! And I'm super oily and the Rare Beauty dewy finish blushes are GORGEOUS on my skin. They don't move, last all day and actually are less shiny than my normal skin so it balances my face out, seeing as I don't like to wear setting powder (or, at least, hardly any setting powder). For anyone else who's super oily, I have found that not putting setting powder all over my face in thick layers to "control" oil actually makes me look less oily by the end of the day. I look dewy, not oily. And oddly enough my makeup isn't creasing either.
YES to a drugstore version! I watched this intently so thank you for being so thoughtful and thorough! I love RMS products but am too scared to use regularly because my skin is congestion-prone..... I wish they would take it out too.
I have been waiting for this video since the day you mentioned it❤! Thank you for such a beautifully curated collection. Merit's Rouge is one of my favorite blushes, and it actually might have some sort of subtle staining affect...? Because I have super oily skin, and Rouge lasts on my cheeks all day! Also, have you tried Rose Inc's Azalea? That's what really got me into other red blushes.
I think you're right! I put it on my lips and it even lasts there. I'll have to check out the rose inc one I havent tried that one! Thank you so much for watching I hope it was worth the wait :)
Thank you for this overview!! I’m so enamored by red makeup right now. I’ve been on a red lip kick and just dabbing any excess on my cheeks, but I’m tempted to treat myself to a powder blush… the Dior one is so pretty
The original makeup artist who mentioned she used red blush on the Victoria’s Secret angel she worked with has now revealed that she actually used RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek in the shade ‘Beloved.’ It’s quite pricey, so I’d like to know how it compares to other blush options. .
Ive been avoiding reds for a while cause they always pull orange on me. I really like the patrick ta red in his first blush trio palette but it is getting a bit crusty now going on 2 years. I am going to try the merit one. Thanks for the vid :)
I love the red blushes from Half Caked. Hot 100 (coral undertone) and American Pie (blue-based) are both stunning dewy blushes for any skin tone. Fave!
Thank you for doing this video, red has been my favourite Colour since I was a kid, I’ll be 29 this year and still love wearing my red! Wondering if you have tried any of the Patrick TA Blushes?
I love red for a natural flush when I’m going for a skin like look, HOWEVER you can rip my pink from my cold dead hands when doing a full face. Love the review!! Definitely have some of these on my wish list now
I love red blush! You wouldn't think so to look at me, because I'm very cool-toned and pale, but it works as long as it's true-red (or cool-toned red) and sheered out. I'll even improvise with a cream or matte lipstick formula from time to time if I have nothing else that works. I'm going to give that Charlotte Tilbury wand a try and see how it does on me.
Thank you for this video. So helpful. I tried to wait for it, but I was eager to get red blush. I have medium skin tone and combination skin, and I buy only cruelty free products. I also strive to buy vegan and sustainable products. I tried Basma Cherry, NUDESTIX Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in Stiletto and Royal (also available at Sephora), and RMS Beloved. I love the color of Basma Cherry, but it was too emollient for me, and I had to build it up to show up on my cheeks. Same result with RMS Beloved. NUDESTIX Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil Royal was beautiful, but darker than I preferred. For me, Stiletto was similar in color to Basma Cherry, less emollient, and easier to apply. I didn't have to build it up as much as Basma and RMS to show on my skin, and I could apply a light tint if desired. It also lasts a long time on my cheeks and lips under my medical mask. I'm happy with my choice. The pencil is easy to carry in a small purse, too. The only drag was that I pushed on the tip too hard, and the tip broke. Lesson learned.
So excited for this video! Btw Sephora also sells the Tower 28 cream blush in a reddish watermelon shade called Happy Hour. It's one of my faves. I also like Flip cream blush shade from Milk Makeup.
Thank you for mentioning the coconut oil in the RMS blush! I was just getting ready to click the link to order and you said that. I’m 52 and my skin still will break out from coconut oil! I love your content. I’m definitely going to choose another red blush from the video.
I bought a milani cream blush a few weeks ago that is kind of a muted coral red, and I enjoy wearing it when I need a change from my pink and lavender blushes. Thanks for the great video, and I enjoyed seeing the products on your friend, as well.
I’ve been so excited for this! Thank you! I have two red blushes- Nars Exhibit A and the Milk Jelly Blush in Spritz (it’s called a coral, but it is red on me). I love them both
I just bought the red Pokémon xColourpop crème blush because I was in the market for a red blush and I’m a sucker for Pokémon. It’s honestly a good formula. Got it for $14, has a lot of product, cute packaging, good wear time, and gives a sheer/buildable flush
The Sephora own brand red blush is lovely too! My boyfriend who knows nothing about makeup and never comments on it, actually complimented me when I had it on!
This is the video I've been waiting for! Thank you so much for these recommendations, Amanda! I've been searching for that perfect red flush too and have added some of these to my wishlist. I can also recommend Westman Atelier's Bichette and Tata Harper's Naughty - give those a try, you won't be disappointed. I'm off to buy that Armani lipgloss now 😂 x
This was the perfect guide for navigating red blush! Thank you for all your hard work ❤️ I know this was primarily blushes at Sephora but I was wondering how does swelter from phytosurgence compare on the spectrum of red blush?
Great review! I love a good red blush, i have five of the ones you mentioned and i just retired so i really shouldn’t buy any more. Thanks so much and thanks to your friend Katie for being a lovely model. ❤
Thanks for including the CT wand. I have a cool skin tone and love the red blush look but was nervous to try it. Now I want to swatch the CT and Merit ones!!
I've been so nervous to take the leap and buy/try red blush, and now I am so excited!! I'm going to use one of your links and purchase right now!! Amazing content, thank you!!!
Wow, beautiful colours, and beautiful blushes! The first one to catch my eye was the Givenchy, it’s such a pretty colour! I love watching videos like this, and I think they are so necessary, but I see several of an item and just become overwhelmed and can’t make up my mind. And so then I don’t choose anything at all because I can’t decide. Even if I was in your position and could try them all on I would probably still struggle. Anyone else like me?
Thank you for a great red blush video! I have the Dior Cherry because of your recommendation! I find the new Dior poppy coral is def different on me. I really like them both! I really hope this video upload blesses you in a wonderful way.
Really loved this one, Amanda. I love the red flushed look, but never quite went all in - now I will. (I think I always worried that I'd never find a red that wasn't orange, so it's great to have some recommendations) I'm a Merit fan and have been eyeing their Rouge blush for awhile - it's definitely on my "to get" list now. Thanks for this fun vid! ❤
Loved this red blush review Amanda! I am not a red blush gal in general although I do own several, because I own a lot of blush, especially creams and liquids. I think the CT red is a gorgeous color, and to me it has a pinky hue. I don’t have that color but I make that color very occasionally but mixing my rare beauty grateful with the hot pink color Lucky. So there is definitely pink in that CT red. And it looks great on my skin tone. I have light to light-med (summer) olive skin tone. More neutral olive as champagne highlighter looks good rather than a cool pink or warm gold. I wear foundation colors with an olive undertone, usually in light.
I still have my Persona stick blush (Kiss?) it’s lovely red and stays well for hours..I just picked up a brick red from Revolution, and also Cover Girl has a great red blush. This was a lovely video and very well done! 😊
Can’t believe I’ve never seen anyone else swatch on white paper before. Super helpful to see the undertone. Thank you for all the effort you put in this video.
You look beautiful in red, both dress and blush!
I had fun swatching all my blushes on white paper. In some cases it helped me to see subtle shimmers in some that I thought were matte.

Thank you so much - I’ve been trying to find the right red blush for me and now I know! Yay!
FINALLY the video we’ve all been waiting for
04:46 Oh! It’s adorable you have your friend Katie there! Great for demonstration, and I bet you had a fun afternoon together : )
A very good one is Mac Frankly Scarlett... One of the OGs when red blushes were very uncommon.
I’d love a drugstore version!!
Also I NEED a tutorial on your eyeliner in this video!
I love that u are talking about undertones...
Anyone else like me?
the swatches gave me life
Loved this video!! I would love to see more for cool toned people…. Besides CT please ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love all the swatches and comparison! The coconut oil in RMS was a dealbreaker for my acne prone skin too :(
Thank you for a great red blush video! I have the Dior Cherry because of your recommendation! I find the new Dior poppy coral is def different on me. I really like them both!
I really hope this video upload blesses you in a wonderful way.
Really loved this one, Amanda. I love the red flushed look, but never quite went all in - now I will. (I think I always worried that I'd never find a red that wasn't orange, so it's great to have some recommendations)
I'm a Merit fan and have been eyeing their Rouge blush for awhile - it's definitely on my "to get" list now.
Please do an affordable/ ulta version of this video. Red is my favorite color
Have you tried BEAUTIFUL SKIN ISLAND GLOW LIP & CHEEK by Charlotte Tilbury? If so, would you recommend?
Love this! Live Tinted just released a liquid blush shade in blossom which is also true red. Would love your thoughts on this blush!
I’ve been using the shade cheerio from colour pop for years I love it. It’s a deep burgundy in the pan but a nice pinch on the cheeks!
I still have my Persona stick blush (Kiss?) it’s lovely red and stays well for hours..I just picked up a brick red from Revolution, and also Cover Girl has a great red blush. This was a lovely video and very well done! 😊
Great video! The merit surprised me! Looked lovely. I’m a pink girl but the red looks great!
I love the Fenty Cheeks Out in the colour Summertime Wine. Gives me a fresh look❤ It should be on your list 😊
This is such a great video! Super helpful and informative thanks Amanda! I also love you demoing on a friend for us!!!
