Being a Japanese and a beauty addict living in U.K for the last 25+ years of adult life, I am so happy that Asian beauty products have wider recognition and become easily accessible worldwide thanks to social media and influencers on TH-cam in recent years🎉❤ A huge selection of affordable and good quality cleansing oil, acid exfoliating toner, lightweight sunscreen, essence, sheet mask and tubing mascara have been around in Japan for a long time, but i couldn't find anything in U.K, so I used to stock up half a suicase of those goodies whenever I went back there in 2000s and 2010s. Now the time is different, and I can get wide range of Asian beauty products online (although the number of brands are little bit overwhelming at times) , and brands like Hada labo, Biore, Curel are readily available in Boots/Superdrug which is just amazing. The only thing that I feel is not discovered from J-beauty is makeup primers that does so many things e.g. skincare benefit/ sunscreen/colour correcting etc. I can't wait to explore this category the next time I go back!
Ok ALSO THE HINCE TRUE RADIANCE BALM is my holy grail highlighter!!!! I picked it up based on my best friend's recommendation when I was visiting her in Korea this spring, and it's perfect. Most balm highlights are super melty and fade throughout the day. Because this balm is stiffer, it stays put and doesn't..."dry out," for lack of a better word, over the day. That wet look stays all day. It's also not sticky at all but gives you the highest-shine, glossiest finish that lasts all day!!!
A lot of c-beauty eyeshadows are pigmented and on par with western eyeshadows... The only difference are the colour palettes and tbf, its lovely for people who likes to wear natural/neutral/grunge/pastel/ethereal makeup look... because they create some of the best (even better) iridescent, foil and glitter eyeshadows
@@loverbeforethewarkaleidos, super high quality amazing all around. they have an amazing dior blush dupe and pale tose is my most repurchased blush ever. their quads are incredible
If you're looking for K-beauty version of the Givenchy powder it's called the Wakemake Stay Fixer Multi Color Powder has one that has the same format and contains talc but most Asian beauty products still use talc formulas. Etude House I think also has a pressed powder that is similar to Canmakes as another option.
Amanda, put the Flaming Heart in the refrigerator overnight. The gel which acts as the cement over heated and fell out…it should be fine once it cools off and gels again.
If you like milky toners, you might like Isntree yam root vegan milk toner. That whole line, including a cleanser and cream, is HG for me. Its fantastic for sensitive, dry skin. I don't know how else to describe than to say all these feel like a hug for my skin and it feels "relaxed" on contact.
Amanda, I would love for you to do a review with the blushes that you liked the most, showing the pigmentation and durability of the ones that you would actually use and explaining why you didn't like the others that you bought please. Oh, and I would like to know if you liked the Hince highlighter please. I have been subscribed to your channel for a long time and I really like your perspective on makeup. A hug from Chile 🥰
Okay my take on the Flower Knows seeing it online was “meh, I’m not into the rococo aesthetic” but when I encountered it in person at Teso Life I was like hold on this is so cute 😆
I'm in love with the Farm Stay Cica Farm Daily Calming Mask. It's got Centella Asiatica as the main power ingredient. It comes in a tub of 30. They never irritate my skin even when I've overdone it with the retinol. They're SO soothing and help with my skin barrier.
I really like the CosRx 6 Peptide Serum - it’s only been about 10 days, so I can’t yet speak to effects. But it feels really good on my skin. I picked up a second one at the Ulta sales for 50% off just the other day.
I have been waiting for you to review the Chinese brand Girlcult for SO LONG I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEIR PRODUCTS. Just a gentle suggestion, in the future I'd call your video "Asian beauty" rather than K-Beauty, as much of it is not Korean.
Awwww, you love the Kissme Mommy sunscreen, I used to buy those for my ex, it was moisturizing somehow certified 2 star water resistant. The only downside is that it's not safe for people having fungal acne.
Weirdly, I suffered from fungal acne but now that it's under control I'm able to use this sunscreen again with no problem. What's your fave fungal-safe sunscreen?
I have 5 colors of the Hince matte lipstick, these are the best lipstick that I've ever have. No smell, non drying, super comfy I don't feel anything on my lips at all, the packaging is so pretty and elegant, I prefer them over Mac, Dior, Lancome, Gucci and Charlotte Tilbury. I recommend u to try dear Amanda.
My holy grail toner is the Cezanne Skin Conditioner Hight Moist. I've been using it for literally years and I never see anyone speak about it. The ingredients are amazing. It's a Japanese product. I've been using the COSRX Peptide Booster for about 6 months daily and I really like it.
I just ordered for the first time from YesStyle after watching your video and here are some recommends from me ; Juicy-pang jelly blusher, I got colour BE-02 fig This one is almost like a soft cream powder feel and is pretty pigmented, going on with an almost blurring effect Joocyee glitter eyeshadow single, I got colour d113 bronze gold and just wow. This eyeshadow is pigments, super reflective glittery in a very refined way, I think you would love Novo fingertip glitter eyeshadow, I got color #1, and again wow I think you would love These are the items in my haul I was blown away by
The way I immediately clicked on this when I normally spend ten minutes deciding on a video to watch 😂 I just did a YesStyle haul but I guess I now have more to add!
I loved seeing all of the new and different makeup 💄 I CAN NOT WAIT to see the powder comparisons trying to find our beloved Givenchy prisme libre dupe! Good luck ❤
Fantastic video, Amanda! I'll have to make a list and pick up some favorites that stand out to me! I've tried the TirTir cushion foundation (I actually found it right before it blew up on TH-cam! Don't ask me how!). At first, I couldn't stop talking about it. I absolutely loved the way my skin looked. But after using it for about 2 months, I felt like it was drying to my skin. At the same time, I also bought their cleanser, Essence Toner, Calming Moisture Barrier Cream and eye cream. I can't say enough about their skin care. I no longer feel like I have dry skin anymore. It's finally "normal" skin after 57 years!! But the foundation began to cause the definite dry patches on my cheeks. Even with their moisturizer underneath. I would like to try their Milk Toner. I did find a foundation that I LOVE though...BASMA stick foundation. Oh, my gosh, it's gorgeous! Woooohhh...sorry for the rant! Thanks again! xoxo Lisa
I bought the fwee Blurry Pudding Pot in the color PK02 Skirt. I was hoping it'd be a more neutral shade than it turned out to be - it's definitely on the warm side. I've been considering getting another color or two, but I can't decide on what one(s). But I love the texture of it. And I got the silicone applicator that fwee sells, which is super fun to use.
Judydoll is Chinese. Kissme, Rohto, Canmake, Shiseido are Japanese. I thought K-beauty means Korean beauty? I would appreciate if you could make the title “Asian beauty”. I wasn’t expecting them to be in this video at all because of the title. I know to some people they’re all the same, but it was misleading. Don’t get me wrong, I love the video! Thanks Amanda ❤️
Agreed! I feel like lots of beauty people (myself included sometimes) tend to conflate all Asian beauty with korean beauty, but Chinese, Japanese and Taiwanese beauty brands need their flowers too!
@@binkysuebob i don’t think she’s one of them! she knows where the brands come from as she mentioned that koh gen do was a japanese brand and that judydoll was a chinese brand in her video. she probably just forgot to name the video correctly
@@arieskill yes I agree! I love Amanda! As I watched the video I noticed how specific she was with each brand. My comment was intended in a more general sense about things I’ve noticed in the beauty space!
I tried the Rohto Water Lip over the summer and found it wasn’t as nourishing as I hoped. I think I’ll try the melty type next. I have the saem blush and hince highlight on my wishlist. I can’t wait for a more thorough review from you.
FYI the Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation sold through YesStyle has a different formula compared to the one available in the US with the major difference being that it has a sunscreen mixed in. I have been thinking about ordering it myself since YesStyle’s price is typically $30-45 (currently $32.33) compared to the formulation available in the US which is now $106. I would be interested in you doing a review comparing the 2 formulas side by side.
I am here for this! I love k beauty and j beauty!❤ I have gone through a bottle of the TirTir milk skin toner and will open my backup tomorrow. I love it so much.
The few times I have gone to Japan I really enjoyed Shiseido's Majolica Majorca line in general. Only the lash tint was a dud that I picked up last year while I was there. The Majolica Majorca Heroine Make Micro Mascara is a bit hard to find and not one of their most popular ones, but it's SO good. Such a small brush for extremely fine application. I picked up 6 of them on my last trip.
LA Girl has a very nice Pink Powder/ which gives a lovely finish. Also, Joah has a lovely 3 tone powder in pink, lavender and porcelain..it’s lovely too.
I like the Skin1004 Madagascar centella water fit sun serum spf 50 pa++++ during this time of year. I have combination skin right now. It is rather warm today for this time of year, 86 degrees. I will have to try the Kissme Mommy sunscreen. I also use Scinic enjoy super mild sun essence spf 50+ pa++++. Scinic is a bit more glowy on my skin than Skin1004, so I tend to use that one in the cooler months.
I LOVE THE COS-RX PEPTIDE SERUM. This has powerhouse ingredients. I like layering it two or three times. It is STUNNING. I have sensitive and dry skin, and I use tretinoin, and I SWEAR by this stuff. It's amazing. Cooling, soothing. Good with one layer, perfection with two or three. Also, the Girlcut packaging looks like a coin purse - it looks like a zip around the opening.
I have so been wanting to try one of those free pudding pots. Just started your video so not sure if you try it on..but hoping so!! 😊 I need to snag one. The color you got looks super super promising too. Just ordered that radiance balm..I've been eyeing that one from Chanel but this one almost looks even better! ❤ and lmao chuckled so hard when that blush fell out of the component 😂😂😂 then you "mooshed the face a little bit" to get a swatch. LOVE !round lab sunscreen is fantastic. I've gone through three tubes. I think you'll like it with dry skin. Very moisturizing. Great under makeup. Pretty nautral slightly radiant finish.
I have some pudaier eyeshadows i got from Aliexpress years ago before they became more of an accepted brand. They were quite nice and had the same packaging of Colourpop super shocks
I'm not going to lie, seeing GirlCult, Judydoll, etc products then reading the title k-beauty is a little misleading to me since that brand is from China. Same feeling to the Japanese brands. I know the algorithm works well with K-beauty, but could you also add J-beauty and C-beauty in the title to not falsely advertise your videos?
I love that Shiseido eyelash expander! It has fibers in it that I don't really care for since I naturally have long eyelashes anyway, but the mascara applies very thinly and doesn't clump at all. It's second only to my favourite one from Clio tho
How did you know that I had been doing a YesStyle and Stylevana deep dive and needing your advice 😅 Have you ever tried the Joseon Aqua Fresh sunscreen? I'm keen to give it a try. Heading into summer here, and wondering what your favourite self tans are? I'm very pale which I'm absolutely fine with, I only want to even out my skin tone across my body. Your self tan always looks perfect to me! ❤️
I've heard people say the Chanel loose powder is better than the Givenchy. It's around the same price but Chanel has over double the amount of powder (Chanel is £50 for 30g and Givenchy is £48.50 for 12g)
Interestingly, I ordered shade 4 of the judydoll gloss on Stylevana and received a purple-y mauve shade, not the red-brown it was advertised as. That product also claims that the glossy layer is transfer proof, which, in my experience, is not true.
I got 4 shades of the Fwee as I was very familiar with the formula and the ingredients. To be honest, I was not impressed with the final product (I only worked on the prototype). The colors are lovely but it seems the pigment ratio was cut down, the lasting power is not great. Re: Koh Gen Doh foundations- there are a few, is gorgeous and the finish is soft satin. The powders (blush and powder) are supremely fine.
Will you be reviewing the new UD space cowboy quad? For some reason I thought they were releasing that star shaped pallet then I never saw it released, instead see that quad. Kinda bummed bc I liked the more brown bronze shades in the Star shaped pallet even tho it looked like a JS pallet
I've tried the Etude house sunscreen and the round lab one and wasn't really impressed with them. The etude house one burns around my eyes and the round lab one feels too heavy on my skin. It's unfortunate, but I'm still on my hunt for the perfect sunscreen
I bought and used the waterlip gloss in Japan. Tbh it’s not that moisturizing and made my lips flake :( that was during winter but I used the laneige sleepung mask and my lips didn’t flake. Not a good comparison but it was the only thing I had with me during that time.
Huge fan of Asian beauty but NOT a fan at all of the amount of plastic in their packaging. Like why do you need to put lip gloss and mascara in a tube AND a blister? Or an eyeshadow palette in outer cardboard packaging AND a plastic sleeve? Weird
@@marielosvasquezcabrera9005 Ohhhhhh. Interesting. That's very good to know! But on the other hand, I'm sure a huge portion of it is exported to countries with more lax regulations. Also again... the double packaging just seems so unnecessary.
Hi Amanda. You may have seen other comments regarding the title of your video already and wondered what the big deal is so I just want to give a little context. To many people who are ethnically Korean, Chinese and Japanese identity is very important. It’s an issue of cultural pride, but also an issue of hundreds of years of historical warfare. For instance there are many still living today with the direct effects of Japanese dominance of Korean and certain Chinese peoples. Yes, currently there is peace among those countries, but for the above reasons and others getting lumped together is still a sensitive topic for many.

I’m super interested in the hince radiance blush colors. They have a pink and a beige.
i personally love the skin food peach powder
The Canmake powder is actually meant to be a dupe for the Albion Elegance face powder, which is another holy grail item in the Asian beauty world
whoa i ordered the same girlcult palette and goth blush right before this video came out!! would love to hear what u think after doing some testing
A lengthy Amanda Z K-beauty video? MY BODY IS READY.
JOOCYEE might be my favorite makeup brand at the moment, is a Chinese brand
i don't own either of them but I've heard a dupe for the givenchy powder is the wakemake one.
We need to know your favesssss
the flower knows 😭😭
I've heard people say the Chanel loose powder is better than the Givenchy. It's around the same price but Chanel has over double the amount of powder (Chanel is £50 for 30g and Givenchy is £48.50 for 12g)
20:34 the way my heart dropped when that blush fell out, ur so unlucky!
I'll run out of my givenchy powder fairly soon so I'm reaaaaally looking forward to that video about alternatives😂
Thank you, I appreciate it.💯✌🏽
Interestingly, I ordered shade 4 of the judydoll gloss on Stylevana and received a purple-y mauve shade, not the red-brown it was advertised as. That product also claims that the glossy layer is transfer proof, which, in my experience, is not true.
OMG, you did buy the Lip Fondue ^^
Did you like the Canmake powder?
I would love to see some of the girlcult eyeshadows in a tutorial. I have never heard if that brand
I have the same issue with Korean eyeshadows I’ve tried, some of them haven’t even showed up at all on my skin
i adore girlcult
Very Matilda on Video 😊
A member of BTS wore the Rohto Mentholatum glitter lip balm:)
That powder looks like a Guerlain Metheorits pressed powder.
I can’t pull down all your links. Can you please check it. Thanks
I was in japan and got the koh gen do for like $35 and its the first time I bought it because of the price after looking for years! I love it :)
Huge fan of Asian beauty but NOT a fan at all of the amount of plastic in their packaging. Like why do you need to put lip gloss and mascara in a tube AND a blister? Or an eyeshadow palette in outer cardboard packaging AND a plastic sleeve? Weird
It is because rules of recicle are very different and strict compared to America. All that packaging ends up being actually in the right place.
Thank you so much for the feedback and taking the time to comment- I have changed the title and made it more accurate ❤ thank you again
These C-beauty products costs more in North America than in Mainland China because of the border tax.
I have about half of the Fwee Pudding Pot shades. I adore them as blushes but do not recommend them for lips. Too dry and they taste horrible.
What is your skin type? It looks like if it might dry? Let me know so I can take recommendations based on that. Thanks!
Yes, Amanda has dry skin (she's mentioned this is her other videos, I'm not putting words in her mouth!)
@@TheSim1derful thanks so much!
I do have dry skin as well. So whatever she recommends I will take notes.
Have a great day 🌸
Is it just me or are almost ALL cosmetics being called 'jelly xyz' these days? I do not get trends.....
Yeah could tell from the photo some of the products were C beauty and some were Japanese. Should just say Asian beauty
