What kind of psycho cuts down someone else's trees without asking them?
rich psychos. There was a story in the NY Post about a billionaire whose view of NYcity's skyline was being obscured by 32 of his neighbour's trees....so he had them all cut down. He now owes the neighbour 1.5 million $$

It's not that deep. I'd rather cut down a tree in front of my house rather than it go through my house in a bad storm.
You can replace a 40 year old tree -- but it's really REALLY expensive.
I'm a die hard gardener and arborist. I'd absolutely lose my 💩 if someone cut down any of the various old growth trees I have on my property. Good gawd!? The excuse from the defendant, is insulting to ones intelligence. Sounds like JJ isn't too amused, either. Being that its no secret, that she too, is passionate about her gardens. Not cool. Defendant is liable.
How do you go on someone else's property and take it upon yourself to cut down a tree in their yard? This guy is a madman.
If the tree cutter was worried that the upcoming hurricane would cause those trees to fall on his house and damage it, it was his responsibility to contact the renter for the owner’s information so as to discuss his concerns. If that was unsuccessful, then as JJ told him, go check the cities records for ownership. The defendant is not the sharpest tool in the shed!
Should have been arrested and paid for the trees out of pocket. He's getting off the hook pretty well by having the show pay the verdict.
The show pays for it now but the person who loses have to put it in their taxes to pay it back

Also, why wouldn't the company who cut those trees verify if their supposed client lives on the adress?

The owner should sue to have his trees replaced by top of the line mature trees (costs thousands).

Hi. Yup! That’s here in NJ. Hard to get the full story (right now), but suspicions are that the guy who cut down and trimmed tops of others wanted a better view of NYC from his house in Kinnelon.

Trees add value to homes. I got a huge Arizona Ash tree in my backyard. The county I live in values that tree at $10k.

Oooh, I live just a few miles outside Altamonte Springs, FL. We get hit nearly every time. Cutting someone else's trees is so wrong. That's what homeowners insurance is for.
So what, someone should have their house destroyed and possibly their children die because you don’t want to cut your tree? Trees can be replaced by smaller trees. Humans can’t, and while houses can be repairs by insurance, that causes so much damage to the people who have to wait for their home to be repaired. Human lives and peace of mind >>>>>> trees
@@neverbackdown1918 ok, let's understand the law. Canopies of trees that hang over your property can be cut. We live close to a state park and MANY of these trees are decades old, some even hundreds of years old. We live in a historic place. You absolutely cannot cut someone else's tree down. There are trees everywhere here. We don't cut them all down just because a hurricane is coming. You board your windows and hope for the best, or evacuate. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent every possible danger we may face from a storm.

This reminds me of that one case where a millionaire went into his neighbors yard to cut down around 40 trees, so he had a "better view". He was sued and had to pay thousands back for cutting them down.

There is ALWAYS bad weather in Florida, hurricanes EVERY YEAR. To cut down mature, healthy trees is insane and wrong on so many levels. Id be furious if a relatively new neighbor came in and cut down my trees. Insane.

The wacko who lived behind us climbed over the fence on the property line between the properties and started to cut down our olive trees. I told my husband and he yelled at him to get the f--k off our property. He climbed back over the fence in a big hurry and everytime he saw us would yell "Die" at the top of his lungs. His mother shortly after that kicked him and his underage girlfriend off her property.

I took down MY overgrown trees clearly on my side of the fence. Roots and all. The neighbor (who rented) threw a fit because HE liked my trees. I laughed at him and offered to throw them over the fence so he could replant them on his side. He didnt like that idea either. He moved out and told the landlord it was my fault. Landlord tried to confront me and was trying to make fine points about random property rights but had nothing to say when I asked him what his point was? Nobody touched his property and he wasn't telling me anything I didn't know already. My laughter shut him up too. LOL, Turns out what he liked about his place most was my place....roflmao!!!

It's a light weight linen shirt. Popular in hot humid climates because the fabric is breathable and less likely to develop sweat stains. He's from Florida. Usually men will wear light cotton short sleeved under tees but he's wear a tank under tee. That's why it looks a bit out of place in the more formal setting of court

I think the defendant knows this is hopeless for him right from the start. I can't believe he showed up without photos of how the trees allegedly threatened his property. Did he ask Neighbor Dan if he knew the plaintiff? He's going to be extra salty if the hurricane ended up missing whatever part of Florida they're in.

My Mum went outside one day to find a group of men in her and my Dad's garden hacking at one of their beautiful trees. The neighbour had gotten the men to climb over his fence and was directing them because he hates trees. They were not tree surgeons, they were the kind of people that knock on your door and ask for cash in hand work whilst casing the neighbourhood to see who is home in the day etc.. So the tree was so badly damaged it had to go so my Dad, in a fit of rage, cut down all the neighbours rose bushes next to their path that were technically on their land. The old man next to them is nice enough normally but he has to have something to moan about, I swear it's what keeps him going. The old man wanted to get violent so in the end my Mum had to go eound and talk to his wife and they made the peace and agreed the rose bushes would stay gone and Dad would not replace the tree.
What a shame we can't remove a year of life from the defendant for every year that tree stood growing there. I simply can not understand people who hate trees. They give life to this planet.

Yea it’s wrong to go onto someone else’s property and make changes but being realistic, I’d rather have big overgrown trees cut down before a hurricane than have more damage to clean up after the hurricane. Where I currently live this is so common to have huge trees hanging over power lines and everybody is always in shock when a storm comes and electricity is out for 5+ days
Lord! They in the court about TREES and he’s suing for $5k. I’ve watched both parts AND the plaintiff is not even say HE planted them. Phew! We, as Americans, have WAY too much time on our hands. Year ago, this would be unheard of. If the tree was cut down, it was just down. Getting enriched for a tree you didn’t buy is amazing to me.
