That’s a blessing riding with your dad and uncles. My mom just turn 79 and 3stage cancer survivor thanks God she is still here with us. She rides two up with me. Not to much long distance anymore cause of health conditions. But she loves riding with me a lot, she really enjoys riding in the back seat and she enjoys taking pictures and videos and enjoying the views. That is the best riding memories we share together! It’s a movie……

I'm glad you're getting to take a trip with your Dad. I take my Dad on every trip I take. He passed last year and he loved his Harley. And when it came time to decide whether to sell it or learn to ride I braved it and now I can't get off the thing. Never rode a bike in my life and started out on his 99 Ultra. Love your videos and your spirit. Just hearing your outro got me into the mindset and I'm just glad you're having that experience. Keep doing what you do.

This has to be one of the best video I have ever seen on taking a long trip. I recently began riding again after a 35 year break from riding and surviving terminal liver Cancer. I have an 800 mile your coming up in June from Sioux Falls, SD to Colorado Springs. You and I are the same height, but I am 66 years old. I do not own a Harley, but a Victory Vision Premium Tour. Most of your suggestions will work on my bike, except my seat is already excellent. A roll bag behind will would do the trick as a backrest and would be easy to secure. I visit and work with Hog members all over my state. Hopefully our paths will cross someday. Thanks and keep 2 on the road.

I have a pair of custom molded ear plugs that I picked up at the rally in Laughlin a few years ago. I only wear them on longer rides, or anytime I'm on the highway. I find I can hear sounds better with them on. You can hear your music/navigation, cars, emergency vehicles. Especially good if your pipes are loud. Jmo. I really appreciate the way you talk in your videos, it's like shooting the breeze with a friend, and that you keep things positive!

Agree with get em out and ride em.we do big trips always.never do the town riding thing unless at a rally.got some friends that rip touring bikes around town and hang in parking lots.they give black lab looks at the practical stuff for doing long rides.but everything i have is detatchable.i didnt buy my bike to sit in parking lots or at stop lights....i have a 19 cvo street glide.it can be stripped down to look like a hot rod in a matter of minutes.and can be set up to cover a 5-7k trips comfortably in a matter of minutes.keep up the good content bud!

I love taking road trips on my bike. I have several friends that only ride to work or maybe a couple hours on the weekend, I keep telling them they don’t know what they’re missing. Road trips also gives you experience in all kinds of adverse weather, I usually just plow right through any rain unless it’s so torrential I can’t see. I live in the north east and have to deal with winter, but I since road trips taught me not to fear cold, wind, or rain, I get a couple more months of riding in these parts.

What are you using that show the compass, MPH, etc.? Can you download waze to the Harley or do you have your phone synch to the Harley Nav.? I agree FULL FACE is the way. I just recently bought a new Modular LS2 Variant II helmet that will let the front part of the helmet flip back behind your head. The clear shield will stay down to protect your face some. I have not used it yet, because it has been to cold to ride. I thought this would be good for riding in stop and go, bike rallies, so you can be a little cooler and have a 3/4 face helmet. I have been using a modular since 2013. I have 2015 Street Glide Special. I am hoping by March or April 2023 it will be a Kevin Baxter 117 Skunk Works build. Look like you are heading toward Knoxville TN? Beautiful ride that way. I notice you kept it around 70 -72 Mph.
When I go on long rides I try to keep it between 2600 - 2900 RPM's. I have found that when you start turning these motors over 3000 and up gas mileage drops to 37 - 38 mile per gallon. Between 2600 - 2900, 41 - 43 mpg and your are still at a good cruising speed. I enjoy the ride, I wish I had been there following you. I lost my best friend and riding buddy in June 2021 to cancer. We met in the ninth grade 1970. 50 years. He rode a Victory Vision and rode no less than 75000 to 90000 miles a year going nowhere. Just enjoying the world. We used to Ride from Cartersville GA to Pigeon Forge to eat, and back home just to ride. Have a Bless Day, and remember never leave home without Jesus in your heart!

My major problem on the long rides is my neck and shoulder since I had surgery a couple years ago because you don't turn your head much on the interstate unless you're passing someone I just rode last month from North Carolina down to Daytona for bike week and back on my 2004 Road King Classic and it was awesome

Just a suggestion as I am a long haul biker, consider your helmet weight as this makes a big difference along with any wind buffeting. Maybe lighter helmet and higher windshield for long trips. My wife has major issues and I can feel it after a few days of non stop riding. Enjoy!

I will say the first thing I put on my bike is highway pegs. Next, and often at the same time, is more lights on the back. I've had a friend who passed away from getting hit from behind. I want my bike to be bright and clear from the back. Then, we go from there.

31313 ear plugs on a long hwy run is great. Hey whatever happened to side by side riding you want communication you just look over. I don't wear a helmet unless there is weather or on long sunny day rides. I prefer long rides at night. Agree with the comfort of a bag. Been ridding like that for forty five years. This year I'm traveling with my 70# pitbull she love to ride as much as I do. Smartest talk I've heard. I dont get guys that spend all that money on a bagger then trailer it to sturgis, get off and pose . I love them caz that's how I get those low mile bikes.

Couple things.. I never leave the house for a ride without earplugs. And listening to you talking about your pants snagging on the peg reminds me of pulling up to a light and my boot lace loop was over the shifter peg...yaa. Hand break - right foot down. Wow. Use small loops on your boots. Lol.
Life is short, enjoy the ride.
    God bless brother

I always wear a full face helmet. Nothing like doing 65 and do a face hit with a June bug, plus the safety aspect of protecting your face as well.

Great tips brotha! As far as leg positions go, I like to flip down my passenger pegs and put my feet back there temporarily (like sport bike style position). Helps to stretch out the thighs and such. Ride safe!!

You can brake with your heel while foot is on highway pegs !

I currently own a yahama roadstar 1700 silverado, owning a street glide is a dream I hope to fulfill some day. Absolutely love your videos and the memories you talk about making with your dad and uncle.

I dunno, I modded my Road Glad to fit my 6’5” self, but I was still lucky to ride a 450 mile day before I was beat. I now sport a BMW K1600GTL and I can do 650 days and still go for more. It’s that good.

Great video. I use eargasm ear plugs, they act like noise cancelling headphones in that they take all the high Db sounds such as wind, etc and brings it down to a normal range. You can still hear your engine, traffic, etc and still save your hearing

Looking to get back in the saddle as they say. Peace.

for a rider that isnt 6'5" lol, I used my lowers on my 14 ultra as a place to place my foot, I would put the heel where most people have speakers and then rest my elbows on my knees. it was like sitting on the grass and still having a back rest. very very comfortable.
I wear jeans that have a stretch denim property to them, when I wear baggier jeans and put my feet up on the cruising pegs the cuffs of the jeans will ride up my legs which looks weird and feels even weirder and also exposes your legs in the event of an accident.

I'm also a tall rider @ 6'4. I have tried 3 seats and I agree that the le pera daddy long legs is the best for tall riders. I also switched my brake pedal to a low profile extended. Total game changer! No longer have to lift my leg to brake. Ride safe.
