Before this match, the media (so-call tennis legends/commentators/coaches) has bet on Djokovic to win. Again, Nadal proved them wrong. It's a miracle to play FO18 times, and it's a miracle over miracle to win 14 times. More respect to Nadal please!
Hard to believe Nadal played at this high of a level just less than a year ago, considering how many injury problems he’s having now. Hopefully he can get back to this level for one more run
@@Priya-wk4ejPlease, stop hanging on 2022... The current situation is far more complicated than last year. In only 5 months, he dropped 15 places. Last year he had I think over 20 wins until RG, now he only has one and in January. I don't actually think he cares about tennis anymore. He would have never missed all the tournaments before RG if he had still wanted to win. He could've found new treatments for the psoas way before the clay season, tried to get some match play, but not staying home and practising for nothing. Just accept, be grateful for everything he has achieved and that's all. 😀

Nadal hasn‘t won a single set against Novak on hard courts since 2013. Djokovic has been way more dominant against Nadal on HC than Nadal has been against Novak on Clay
Eventhough Novak had stated he hae a chance, you just know that Nadal is not giving up on his house. This year (2023) is going ro probably be Rafael's last big push?
@PAWS & HANDS people been saying this for a long time. But he takes a lot of painkillers so he can keep peaking at his best slams But the cost is being unable to play smaller tourneys

Sadly im watching tennis only since 2019...matter of fact Nadal vs Federer in Wimbledon was my first match and the crazy final was my second match. This one is, till today, the greatest match I have seen. Totally insane. Im so sad that I didnt see the big 3 in their prime ☹️. Glad i still saw a glimpse though! Made me a tennis fan!
The first set and a half was absurd level from Nadal. I think that alone took a lot from him and he was not the same player ever since then. Even if he won the match, he was past that level. He then played good at Wimbledon, but after that injury we haven't seen anything good from him sadly. I think the title at RG was with a big cost and his body might not let him play on the highest level anymore. Hope I'm wrong.
You’re definitely wrong, because exactly like you said, he played great in Wimbledon as well. That abdominal tear in the QF there is what did it, unfortunately. If anything he was actually better after last year’s RG, as he found a solution to his chronic foot issue (the numbing procedure).
@@alexanderanton1564 To me he gave it all for RG and that took a lot out from him. The followed up injuries are no surprise. Especially that match with Novak, it looked easy, but he pushed really hard.
Two legends that made history. Its quiet stunnig what they did for tennis over the years. As a Rafa fun i can say that both players are icons which never be forgetable , no matter what happens. The records that they hold wont be broken easily. Inam very proud that i could be part of that era of tennis and for me nobody stands alone as a Goat because the all have different styles, different personalities and the way they playing their matches is also different Furthermore we need to appreciate what they did for the sport. Last but not least i hope that Rafa will recover as fast as possible so that we can wath another match of the Goats between these two gladiators!
Wasn’t even hard for him. The opening set against Zverev and of course the 5 set Felix match were Nadals toughest that year. Nadal was in full control of this match.

Such a shame that Djokovic could not win that 4th set despite having 2 set points on his own service game, a 5th set would have been very interesting to watch
A lot of you ppl commenting about how he lost to joker in 2121, and probably carried an injury(which was already there, the foot) but none of you mention what was the real cause, he was up almost 5/0 but it kept getting more n more humid.. and nadal sweats the most. Now when you don't have fluids in you're body you start to get slower and the muscles start to shut...so 2121 I'd definitely say the weather beat him. That's why Miami is terrible for him as well at times.
