      Thank you Mark, I'm pleased you enjoy the footage. I try and capture the full experience as fishing for me is much more than catching fish, the scenery and wildlife is very much a part of it. I'm still learning when it comes to making videos but hopefully I can improve a little with each one. Cheers as always, much appreciated 👍🐟👍

    Another relaxing video Gareth in stunning scenery, been going to the gower regularly for years. I probably wasn’t far from you on that day. I fished a rock mark between pwlldu bay and caswell so know all about those steep cliffs lol. But it’s what we love doing and nature at its best.
    The Rod I won is getting some action, had a nice blonde ray on it at the knap midweek. Enjoy your weekend mate, earned yourself a beer 🍺. 👍

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Matt. Yes lovely down there isn't it, I always get excited when I park up, never know what fish could make an appearance. Aghh right, you were close then, surprised I didn't see your head lamp ha...I've fished up towards Pwll Du a few times but mostly in the Summer months, I've had some nice Garfish and Mackerel up there on the lighter gear. Yes those cliffs don't get any easier do they, I was a bit sore the next day but as you say, we do it because we love it! Was a tough session that day but was nice to see a couple of Bull Huss towards the end of the session, even though they were small. Glad to hear your new rod has been bending of late, well done on the Blonde Ray, can't fault it! I had a Thornback in the week but it was only a few pounds, pretty fish though. I think I will have that beer tonight and will make up some rigs rigs too! Cheers mate, appreciated as always, have a good weekend and tight lines for your next session! 👍👍🎣

    Gosh that makes me miss the Gower. Spent three years doing Marine Biology at Swansea Uni back in the 80's and spent far more time exploring those beaches than I ever did in the Library. Probably why I only scraped a lower second but never mind - it was worth every minute. Three Cliffs was one of my favourite stretches, along with Pwll Du and Rhossilli Bay. One of these days I'll get back there... Meanwhile, I'll just have to enjoy it though your videos. Thanks mate!

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Stuart. Well I don't blame you for swapping library time for exploring the Gower beaches, I think I would have been the same ha! Stunning part of the world isn't it, I tend to fish Three Cliffs and Pwll Du the most, just nice places to be and any fish I catch are a bonus. I'll give it a few weeks and then go back down there, should be a few other species about by then. Thanks for watching, much appreciated 👍👍🐟

My best mate lives in North Yorkshire and says the next time he’s taking me to Boulby. Look it up if you don’t know it … nuts! I'm in Australia but have lots of family in South Wales so have been over there a few times. The beaches at the Gower are the best I have seen anywhere in the world. Do you ever fish in North Wales?

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David. Yes I would agree with you there, the Gower beaches are something special. This particular mark is just next to Three Cliffs Bay, been fishing it for a number of years now, one of my favourite places. As for North Wales, I've done a bit of fishing near Rhyl but that's about it, although I would like to fish up there a lot more in the future. Many thanks for watching 👍👍🐟

    Hi Gareth another cracking video just wondering what wellies u use thanks

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Stuart, I appreciate it, was a nice little session. The wellies I use are thermal ones with the removable thermal liners. They are nothing special but I've they for five years now and they are still going strong with no leaks and they keep my feet warm on colder days. I think the link below is for the same ones I have or similar...

      @@stuartcross749 No problem. They do seem to have a good grip on them. Although at the lighthouse, Goldcliff and Gower, I could have used my boots, it's only because I like an early cast off the mud or sand that I had the wellies on 👍

      Cheers Nathan. In the past I've had some nice fish off this mark, can be excellent on its day. This spot is just next to Three Cliffs Bay, just down from Southgate. Bit of a walk down the cliff face but well worth it, a nice place to be. Yeah me too, special place the Gower, full of surprises. Hope you manage to get a session in this weekend! Thanks mate 👍👍🎣

    Where do u park to then climb down the cliff face? Cracking videos pal

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Daniel, I appreciate it. This particular mark is right next to Three Cliffs Bay. So you park at the National Trust carpark at Southgate. You then walk right along the paths adjacent to the top of the cliff and keep going until you come to the mark, it's a 15/20 minute walk or so. It's a steep climb down the cliff and so take it easy and travel a bit lighter if possible. Hope that helps, cheers 👍👍

    Nice and comfortable mark that looks. I was wondering how far up off the water you are and can you get down to the water's edge over high water ?

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate, yeah you can get to the water's edge, there's an area to the left of me which I would have used if I'd have caught anything big but I didn't. Need to be careful though as a bit of a swell on high water, best to fish it with someone else. I'd say I was around 12ft above above the water that day. Cheers 👍👍
