I think it would be fair to say that it's not just your potential area of improvement, but mine as well, and just everybody's. It's a fairly universal (and for a good reason) stage for improvement 3d render aesthetics! :)

really looking forward to this one. It is a concept that touches not just how you use Blender and tweak the settings but important concepts that make shots cinematic.
IMO if your eyes aren't trained, you aren't studying and following certain looks and studying films that fire up excitement in you, you'll often feel lost with your renders and your projects. You have to dedicate as much time to aesthetic research and reference collection as your technical skills.
edit: also have to say i support the model Creative Shrimp and Gleb are after - release some of the content a bit later for free for everyone else who can't jump onboard now. thank you!

"...if you aren't studying and following certain looks and studying films..., you'll often feel lost with your renders" - that could be my take as well. It is essential to do a homework and learn how to 'see' light in movies and photo works specifically. It helps tremendously with lighting in 3d renders.
As for the free content, a big chunk of the course will be released as TH-cam videos, and we have plans for the updates as well.

Everyone struggles with lighting, it seems. The struggle of our times, for us fellow 3d artists over here. It makes it less painful to realize that photographers have been going through that for ages, literally since the dawn of time.

Hi, Gleb! I'm excited to try this course out! Though I know there's no focus on stylized rendering (which I want to delve into more), I want to really get a grasp on lighting from wherever I can, and I like your tutorials so much! 😊 I can figure out some nifty lighting after understanding composition of it more, so that's my plan. 😄
Stylized rendering, I love it as well but yeah we shifted the focus to more photographic/cinematographic style of lighting and rendering this time. Recently I've become really interested in this aspect of computer graphics so I followed this passion :)

Cycles is pretty damn fast nowadays (with the decent gpus at least and under *some* circumstances and within limitations of path-tracing).
These render still have me dumbfounded!! I’ll get the course on gum road!!!!

If you get it on Gumroad, it will be possible to watch the videos online just like with the hardsurface modeling course, if that's important to you (with subtitles, if needed). Blender Market on the other hand offers the .zip archives.

Can you do a tutorial on like Pixar lighting?
I know they use a color script. I guess the lighting color us the same as the textures ?
It's an interesting subject definitely, though I think it crosses into the territory of stylized rendering a little bit. It's something we're also interested in, but probably not in this course. But thanks for your suggestion!
WIll this course be useful if I want to render exterior scenes? Like a house in a field? The video only shows close ups and interior shots.
That is something that we've been thinking about in the context of the future updates. Nothing concrete yet, but I won't be surprised if that's the topic of one of the bonus videos (or chapters for that matter).

Tell me what this rendering style is called, when everything is so futuristic and without color, about like in the render video view.
Vlad, not sure what you mean, if you don't mind can you give me some reference image so I can better understand your idea? :) Do you mean basically a slightly desaturated color grading, like in some films, that sort of thing?
can we apply this technique in any application like unreal or omniverse or maya??
It's mainly for Blender, but general principles of lighting that is impactful, dramatic and motivated could definitely be applied elsewhere.

The course is more about the logic of cinematic lighting or more about specific of the cinematic blender setup?
Andrew, it's both! The logic and aesthetics of cinematic lighting and then methods of tapping into that aesthetics in 3d, namely in Blender (both Cycles and Eevee). Hope it helps!
p.s. My first WOW moment in learning 3d graphics was discovering the global illumination (or was it called irradiance or something?) in early 3ds Max.

Does it include all the information from your older course?
I think most (if not all) of the concepts and techniques from the older courses made their way into this new one. Upgraded, revamped and supercharged.
A question! do you teach camara use of cameras??
We speak about camera optics and how it affects the bokeh look etc, but that's a fairly marginal part of the course (even though I like it and think it's aesthetically interesting).
Please add a part that does lighting for planets!!!!

Yup, probably. That being said, nothing radical has happened, everything is still 100% relevant.
Can I do This course in Blender 2.92 ?
I'd recommend at least Blender 3.3 LTS, I'm not sure it'll be just as smooth in 2.92.
