our percussion instructor, KEVIN THORBURN(snare player with the cloth on his face), taught us their whole show and some of the snare solos from other Rhythm X shows.
Kevin Thorburn aka snoid is actually the one in the yellow shirt standing outside of me in the grey shirt. Justin Lewis is the one with the black cloth over his face.
I don't think it's a mistake... That's just how RX is. They are constantly having a good time. I don't know, you would just have to be there to understand. The vibe they create in the lot feels awesome! It makes you connect more with the members...
they use remo hybrid heads, when they first get them, they put vaseline on each lug and put them on the snare finger-tighten the lugs then the next day, tune them in the normal star pattern to get w/e sound you want.
Mike McIntosh's are ok. I hate to light feel that they have though, of course i pick them up right after the fall season and they feel light as crap, because i have used Paull Rennicks all summer and fall...so they probably feel normal for the everyday drummer
whats up guys, im looking for a recording of the long beach indoor 04 show "JAZZ TO GO" if any one out their has a tape that they could send to me via email t would realy be great
neither. It's WGI. Just about the equivalent of DCI as far as skill level goes, except it takes place during the winter, and they don't rehearse as rigorously.
This show lives in my head rent free
Why does this feel so nostalgic, it is almost like i want to experience this is 2009
The snares are basically playing on Tabletops, so it has to be unbelievably clean, or every little bit of dirty is going to be heard. Super impressive

Rhythm X always has some of the best tenor lines in WGI. I think it's because of the tim jackson foundation
