I know this video is forever old but thank you, thank you, thank you for making this happen. I know we were both there that night watching, understanding that Finals was merely a formality for this ensemble, that the result had already been written, that the following 8:30 were *everything*. The end of an era, and the beginning of a new one, for Rhythm X and for WGI. To hear Mac's words, there is no real adjudication, there is simply the understanding that this is the most big brain, big balls, for the people show that ever has been and may ever be. This is why we did it.
5:12 Mac predicts his own death before the end of this show. 8:21 it ALMOST happened. Had the show had not ended at that moment, we may very well have lost a valued member of the marching percussion community that day.
The moment they all come in, It seriously makes me tear up and gives me the chills. It takes something truly amazing to bring out the emotion like that does
remember seeing this live and totem . greatest two shows ever performed in my opinion.. and our drum tech who was former blue devils and he was friends with rythm. he told us that the quad player with blind!
Was that stick toss choreographed? Cause it kinda looks like it saved that snare's show after dropping his. Edit: Nevermind, I thought he threw it to the back but I clearly see he threw it to the tenor now.
I was there. The acoustics are never great at UD Arena but the fact you’re hearing a tape recording where the recorder hangs in front of Macintosh’s mouth definitely doesn’t help.
@@ConnorSmethers I don't think that matters. He was on staff with Gateway for years and still judged championships. Edit: Just realized this comment was like 5 years ago.
can someone gimme a hint as to why this show is so highly regarded? i genuinely don't know as i'm sorta new to trying to get this stuff, and would like to be educated a little.
So glad I'm not the staff members who had to meet with this guy at critique. Sure it's GE, but the lack of substantive comments make for unacceptable adjudication, imo. 'god bless, thank you, jesus, do you want it...' Really? Awesome show & performance, but this 'judge' is a disservice to competitive marching percussion.
“This guy” is a highly regarded adjudicator, teacher, and musician. Chances are after the show he met with the staff and they all exchanged hugs and congratulations. This show was near perfect and his reactions would bring much happiness to the group members. I’m sure it was an honor to be able to perform this show for someone like Mike.
The best showed ever designed vs. a man who probably had dropped acid 8 hours ago when the show started and is just now coming out of it.
Do you want it?
Do you want it?
...do you want it?
God! God bless!
he knew he needed to put a christian spin on it before going too off the rails lol
God it's great to have Mike judge the local circuit in Missouri, And yes, all of his tapes are like this.

"What the hell it's just a freakin' stick toss for pete sake."

Best X show ever
Agreed
*best show ever*
The guy at the end really shows how much passion and love these performers pour into this sport. I have so much respect for them.
God damn, broken city may have broken the record in 2019, but man nothing tops this.
GOD BLESS.......CHRIST
The moment they all come in, It seriously makes me tear up and gives me the chills. It takes something truly amazing to bring out the emotion like that does
Ha! "can't handle this...not gonna make it"
That's the best part.
Hands down the best indoor show of all time!
This show affected me every time I saw it live. Still affects me over a decade later.
I love the reaction to that stick toss.
remember seeing this live and totem . greatest two shows ever performed in my opinion.. and our drum tech who was former blue devils and he was friends with rythm. he told us that the quad player with blind!
What a beautiful prelude he gives us.
I love how after the opening hit, all he could do was laugh😂
Easily the greatest WGI show ever performed, PERIOD. I'm speechless.
9:00 should tell you everything you need to know about a last performance for DCI or WGI.
I misss drumming love this show!!!!!
that stick toss was fucking awesome
"God, I'm gonna pass out... I'm passin out!" Hella funny!!
So... "and then I JIZZED IN MY PANTS" at 4:12?
Eric, I saw you and your group United Percussion this weekend in Union City, absolutely stellar work!
Was that stick toss choreographed? Cause it kinda looks like it saved that snare's show after dropping his.

Wow Mac was REALLY into this show 😂😂😂
"God. Bless. Christ."
Lmao it tickles me that I listened to this so many times on your channel and nowadays I know you’re channel
Mike McIntosh, huh?? Such a funny guy ... show us some apples,
Mike! 🍎🍎🍎🍎
god bless......jesus!
Omg that last cry got me
The stick toss was really cool. The acoustics doesn't sound that good I wonder if it sounds better in person?

do you want it ?
Get out of here, Anthony. Haha.
I've watched this about 20 times....today
i wish our judge was that hype lol
Never thought mike would be this funny. He has some funny comments in this video.
The turned of the tape as soon as the show was done...like damn lol
Many of us alike. If I'm not mistaken though, this year was the highest WGI score in history. I still love Touch, regardless.
Why hasnt Bands of America hired this guy???
+Noah Carmichael He teaches schools that compete in BOA
He's the percussion caption head for the 2021 BOA Honor Band in the Rose Parade!
he judged my band back in 2018 at a boa comp
@@ConnorSmethers I don't think that matters. He was on staff with Gateway for years and still judged championships.

He writes our books, he is our former percussion director back in the early 2000’s. He visits us every year in the fall before we head to Lucas oil
I can neither confirm nor deny that. Just know that I really want to hear the judge's tapes from X this year.
5:30 Some SCV plate line buzzy head chop action would have killed Mike McIntosh right here!!
i love his intro
Mikes comments make me laugh so much
RIP Mike McIntosh
I love how these guys judge PIW and don’t even really judge. They just enjoy themselves lol
The video description really sums it up
"I'm passing out"
MANNNN IN THE ARENAAAAAAAAAA FTW
Just realized this is Mike Mcintosh and not some random 30 year old man
3:30 stick toss
You might want to see 2013's show. It out did this at them moment.
i like to believe he did actually pass out
How to have the time of your life while watching a wgi show? 08:16 that guy in the background shows you how!
Mike Mcntosh just came to my school I’m at cedar ridge
At least in PIW. The highest score ever was Woodbridge.
Back when shows didn't need a million props on the floor.
Man In The Arena was great.... Now how about Dandelion? :P
Who is here after seeing BD’s Instagram story?
What was on it?
Yah what was in it
Props to the bald dude wearing the shades!! Impressed with his ability to see where he was going on that floor. The view must have been super dark!
He
Blind
MrPiklez is he actually
There wasn't any. He passed out.
can someone gimme a hint as to why this show is so highly regarded? i genuinely don't know as i'm sorta new to trying to get this stuff, and would like to be educated a little.
Minnesota Brass Indoor. Look up their show :P
Yeah about that...
5:16 Is that Mike Bishop on the keyboards there? He marched Jersey Surf
That’s Matt Hahn, a show designer in the Dayton OH area
Where did u get this gem?
Dude do you have any other tapes from other years of rx?
"God bless Christ"
I think this dude was on Molly
Dandelion?
Anything to do with the high ass score at Dayton this year? :P
do you want it? 😏😏
Yeah of course Justin Lewis's stick toss would get him to do that...
Uhhhhhhh, did they get a restraining order on the judge?
.....its a little spooooky
4:17
LOL
3:37
3:31 .
