    We use 3 cameras and 4th is lower thirds or slides from ProPresenter to our Atem mini pro. Since it has encoding and streaming built in, it's independent of ProPresenter, so if ProPresenter crashes, we don't lose our live stream. Plus, that way we aren't having to pay yet again for resi or restream or anything. We don't have those kind of funds.
    I love ProPresenter 7. We had 6 before and it was great but 7 is so much better. ProPresenter is so much better than ANYTHING out there.

      Agree. ProPresenter is expensive enough and considering how complex the simplest task is in it, it is not even close to worth what it cost.

    I switched us from a Mac mini to a PC because of apple soldering everything to the motherboard, like memory and storage. If the ssd fails, which it does a lot it seems, you have to buy a whole new computer or spend a lot of money and time in a shop. The computer won't boot up if the ssd dies.
    The PC has 2 nvme drives that I keep a clone of the main storage drive. If it goes down, I can boot to the other ssd and replace the main for $100 and go back to having 2 of them. It's great having a running backup drive. I can replace any part in the PC in 30min or so myself and be back up and running.
    I prefer the Intel processor macs over their m1 or m2

    At our church, various different volunteers provide input in the presentation. My question, is: Can volunteers log in from home and add their contribution to the service using the free license? Basically, can the person who builds the song slides do that part from home? Alternatively, can we import a slide show from powerpoint (if they built that at home and sent in). Thanks in advance, great overview and review video.

      I would say a remote support style program or service would be best but I also don't think that'll be approved by the church staff since it can create a security risk and would also let them connect and add/change/delete stuff at any time.
      You don't want that on a production computer/device.

Would they need another license seat for a computer elsewhere? A site license? Would you need the cloud plan? It isn’t clear. At least not to me.

    Why would you go out from the duo to the video hub? Could you go straight to your outputs? Tv, projector, switcher…?

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Video hub gives you more routing options.

    • @jsweiss
      @jsweiss 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The reason to go to the video hub is say you want the same feed for the projectors also to go into your switcher, lobby TV's, etc.. you can without having 4 outputs of the same thing coming from the mac. It's also helpful to have your projectors on the video hub to say if you want to run something different to your projectors you just have to change the feed on the hub rather than unplugging the line and connecting it to a new device. Hope that helps!

      M1 Mac Mini natively supports 2 displays only. But here they are using a DeckLink Duo in an external expansion case, which basically is an external graphics card. Now the displays are being handled by the DeckLink Duo and no the Mac mini.

    • @JohnPlocher
      @JohnPlocher 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sonnet has its Echo Express SE expansion chassis series, BMD has the decklink duo with quad SDI - you would also need SDI-to-HDMI converters (again, BMD has USB powered micro converters that can be powered from your remote TVs) and 3G-SDI cables to connect them. If you get the expansion chassis with 2x PCiE slots, you can have two Decklink cards / 8x SDI connections... The VideoHub 12 is a great way to connect multiple monitors to a single source, while being able to choose and change things on the fly...

      We use a Decklink Duo from Blackmagic design

    • @JohnPlocher
      @JohnPlocher 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One easy to use solution is the VideoHub - a crossbar switch that lets you send any input to any set of outputs. We use one (a 12x12) for all the in-booth video routing and another (40x40) for everything else in the church (cameras, displays...)

      We use a thunderbolt out for the monitor and the hdmi out to the ATEM mini.

    • @JohnPlocher
      @JohnPlocher 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right, it is possible to run the HDMI display out thru a HDMI splitter - though the cheap ones often cause more problems than they solve. As we use a ATEM 4K that doesn't support 1080@60, I find myself using lots of Decimator HD-MX "swiss army knife" converter/scalers that have HDM IN & OUT as well as HDMI-SDI conversion with a robust scaler.
      Personally, I like to run the computer hdmi port to a videohub input, and then use VH outputs to send signals back to the display monitors in the booth (computer to HDMI-SDI converter to VH input, then VH output to SDI-HDMI converter to display). This setup lets me quickly repurpose the displays in the booth if/as needed for maintenance, setup tasks, swapping operator positions, etc...
