    You forgot to mention that if the Stingray is equipped with the Z51 option you have the same launch control option’s as the Grand Sport and ZO6. Good video.

    You have the PTM mode if you have magnetic ride suspension... I have a manual trans Z-51 without PTM mode..(no magnetic ride) If I put it in launch control , It revs to about 4300rpms..and if you let go of the clutch it just sits and spins the tires and goes for the rev limiter..Kinda useless without better traction.. But I like the , no lift shift...

    Do manual transmission have launch control?

    • @RollingWithPoPoJones

      Hey @waldensaudio yes, the manual transmission C7 also has launch control. Functions just a little different with the clutch.

    Your better off not using launch control and traction control off

    • @RollingWithPoPoJones
      @RollingWithPoPoJones  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed. I’ve played around with and without the use of launch control and the truth is you can launch the control better without using the system.

    For all those 'manual' questions, here is a copy and paste from the manual.
    Launch Control (Track Mode Only)
    A Launch Control feature is available within Competitive Driving Mode on all vehicles to allow the driver to achieve high levels of vehicle acceleration in a straight line. Launch Control is a form of traction control that manages tire spin while launching the vehicle. This feature is intended for use during closed course race events where consistent zero to 60 and quarter mile times are desirable.
    Launch Control is only available when the following criteria are met:
    Competitive Driving Mode is selected, or any of the Performance Traction Management modes are selected. The TCS light comes on the instrument cluster and the appropriate DIC message displays.
    The vehicle is not moving.
    The steering wheel is pointing straight.
    Manual Transmissions
    The clutch is pressed and the vehicle is in 1 (First) gear.
    The accelerator pedal is rapidly applied to wide open throttle.
    The Launch Control feature will initially limit engine speed as the driver rapidly applies the accelerator pedal to wide open throttle. Allow the engine rpm to stabilize. A smooth, quick release of the clutch, while maintaining the fully pressed accelerator pedal, will manage wheel slip. Complete shifts as described in Manual Transmission 0192.
    Automatic Transmissions
    The brake pedal must be firmly pressed to the floor, equivalent to a panic brake event.
    The accelerator pedal is rapidly applied to wide open throttle. (If the vehicle rolls due to wide open throttle, release the throttle, press the brake pedal more firmly, and re-apply the accelerator to wide open throttle.)
    The Launch Control feature will initially limit engine speed as the driver rapidly applies the accelerator pedal to wide open throttle. Allow the engine rpm to stabilize. A smooth, quick release of the brake pedal, while maintaining the fully pressed accelerator pedal, will manage wheel slip.
    After the vehicle is launched, the system continues in Competitive Driving Mode or Performance Traction Management. Competitive Driving Mode, PTM, and Launch Control are systems designed for a closed course race track and not intended for use on public roads. These systems are not intended to compensate for lack of driver experience or familiarity with the race track.

    Good video! I'm interested in the "outside of PTM" part near the end... Are you still in track mode but without clicking the button twice? Sometimes I'd WANT to spin my tires but the car always grabs. How do I turn off PTM?

    • @RollingWithPoPoJones
      @RollingWithPoPoJones  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe I was in sport mode when I spun the tires. PTM can only be activated in track mode, but just because you are in track mode does not mean you have to be in PTM. Just don’t activate it by double pressing the center button. You can use that same button to deactivate traction control by clicking just once. I’m sure you could definitely spin some tires that way!

    • @RollingWithPoPoJones
      @RollingWithPoPoJones  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An issue that I had is that even in PTM mode, I spun a little bit in launch due to loose asphalt. However, PTM did what it was supposed to do and slowed my acceleration to prevent a continued burn out. The Grand Sport has wider tires and i believe that’s why it did not have the same issue.
