I made that mistake, told my friend's my test was the 16th of November, I passed first time but the pressure from two other friends passing first time the week prior didn't help, got 9 minors.
I just made sure I had enough food and caffeine and a toilet break before heading out and I passed with 8 minors and it ain't great but I'm glad it was over. First 10-15 minute was nerve wracking but got over it eventually.

I was such a nervous learner to begin with but the leg shaking has never happened to me. I’d never even thought about something like that ‘til now and I have a test next week and now I’m scared this will happen 🤣
I failed my first test with legs shaking. It caused me to stall the car 4 times one after the other coming out of a junction. Passed my test the second time, I kept tension in my foot, I moved the seat a little more forward than I usually had the seat, and kept tension in the foot, not flexing the foot too much. As the shaking legs were just pure nerves, I never had them in lessons just on my two tests. Wishing all new learners good luck! P.s. I had a shakey leg on my test it's horrible as you can't stop it and it just gets worse and worse 🥺 all we can do is try and try again and just know we will pass eventually 🤞
Not sure why people use the handbrake every time they stop, if I was a teacher I wouldn’t teach that, people get too reliant on the handbrake, everything ends up taking too long! Had the shaky leg on my test, my examiner was a real help and reassured me and I managed to beat it!
It is useful to apply the handbrake and select neutral at traffic lights. You can relax and have less wear on the clutch thrust bearing. Restarting takes about 1 to 2 seconds.
@Keith Sorry but from a mechanical perspective that is just rubbish, there is no wear on the clutch if you’re sitting at traffic lights with your foot down on the clutch and other foot on the brake, the clutch is disengaged at this point.
@@SparxTheDragonfly I never said there was wear on the clutch, the wear occurs on the thrust bearing. When the clutch pedal is up strong springs hold the engine half and the drive half together. When you depress the clutch pedal the thrust bearing wears as you hold the two halves of the clutch apart the half attached to the engine side on the driveshaft is still moving.
ive got my test on tuesday the 20th, after less than 20 hours of lessons and ~25 hours of driving with a family member i am feeling very confident that i will pass! started learning in mid september, the day after i turned 17, and have been ready for a test since mid november 😅
Just passed my test today and was acc not nervous at all, one thing I can recommend that worked for me is the whole day leading up to my test I was in a tshirt in 6 degree weather, when youre cold youre not as nervous.
Mock tests are so useful. They make the learner realize how they need to be in full control of the vehicle, and that the examiner wont intervene unless there is serious danger.
My instructor swore against them. So i never did one, he didn't see the point in them. I still passed first time though so he could have been onto something. Everyone's different though.
@@rufusgreenleaf2466 my instructor didn't do them either. We just drove test routes without it being an official mock, he would help me out and I also passed first time.
I think what it is is that he is hovering his foot over the clutch whilst being nervous as opposed to planting his heel and curling his foot up whilst heel is on the floor. Hovering foot is tiring and difficult especially with all the nerves of stalling and junctions
On my first ever test my legs shook so much the car was actually shaking around us. Needless to say, I failed. 😂 I’ve been a driver for 6 years now. It happens guys!
I've had my left leg shake on one lesson and I think it was purely just because I didn't set my chair at a comfortable length which meant I was causing it to strain more when trying to hold the biting point when I was stationary. Since then I've just double checked if I'm comfortable with the clutch when doing the cockpit drill and the shake hasn't resurfaced.
my leg was shaking as well, thankfully it was only at the first part of the test (parking, idk how it is in the uk but in my country you do a few things and parking before driving), the instructors were nice to me about it. it was weird bc i was feeling rly confident about passing but it still happened to me lol
This video shows how a learner with 36 hours of lessons, without private practice, would drive on roads which doesn't surprise me. Few weeks ago, I saw another video of a young girl with 36 hours of lessons, without private practice at all, she drives similar like him. Noticed that both have a issue with basic skills, especially cluth control. DVLA advises minimum 45 hours of lessons and 22 hours of private lessons. Insufficient practice reflects on your driving skills. No magic for driving skills, more you drive, more you become confident. Good luck!
Or traffic lights , or while you are waiting in the traffic... Hand brake ( parking brake ) was designated to use only when you are parked or stationary for longer time
I wouldn't say the shake is nerves because I've had it, just put your heel on the ground and use the clutch like that in the mean time, then when your foot feels relaxed it will be fine.
I stalled 3 times because of a shaky leg but passed, if you get the problem just focus on always checking the blind spots every time you set off again and you'll be ok
thats my brother brad, top battlelands royale player in the world never seen anyone better with their left foot apart from messi and a trim that makes him look like luke bennet cmon lad

Best way to calm your nerves before a test is to knock back a couple of shots. My mother was terrified of flying so we'd get ger sufficiently plastered before embarking the plane. Sometimes she'd join the flight at 30,000 feet.
I passed my test on the first try and only had one minor which is crazy. When I passed the test. My family and I immediately went to buy me a used car (with my money) and I had a nice evening too. I got a csgo rankup and drank beer :)

At 12.05 i dunt think its a serious 2nd fault as he didnt move to another lane without signalling..2 lanes were merging in one as 2 way street was starting so cars behind shoild let the car infrnt merge into the lane.. thats how merging happens..cars behind hv to slow down nyways..y fail him 4 it?
passed my test with 2 minors however is this geezer was my test invigilator wouldve fail me with 100 majors , give it a rest, charge it, on a gang ting
Interesting, from what I can see it looks like his whole left foot is coming up off the floor when he brings clutch up to change gear. I don't do that as I probably would have the same shakey/less control issue. I always keep my clutch heel on the floor when changing gear. Keeping heel on floor you bring the front of your foot back allowing the pedal to come up. (Try with your hands and you'll get the idea. Palms flat facing down. Front of right hand (accelerator) goes down at same time as front of left (clutch) comes up.) Your shoe will squeak a bit when it's wet. Don't know if that helps anyone but it works for me and been driving like it for over 10 years. If I brought my whole left foot up for gear changing the car would be doing kangaroo jumps all the time. 😁
I really hope Brad manages to overcome his nerves. The poor lad looked terrified throughout his test

Not sure why people use the handbrake every time they stop, if I was a teacher I wouldn’t teach that, people get too reliant on the handbrake, everything ends up taking too long!
Had the shaky leg on my test, my examiner was a real help and reassured me and I managed to beat it!
I was taught hand brake only when you're going uphill and parking
Obvs nerves I had the same problem but it goes away think hes a decent driver tho
Just passed my test today and was acc not nervous at all, one thing I can recommend that worked for me is the whole day leading up to my test I was in a tshirt in 6 degree weather, when youre cold youre not as nervous.
Can get beta blockers from your doctor to stop physical symptoms of nervousness
Shaking leg is caused by bad seat positioning, it used to happen with me too
The shoe laces is a fail to as they could get caught on the pedals. Suppose to do the laces up properly and keep shoes on.
Passed my test the other day but I used to do this when my dad first started teaching me. It was horrible
Same. Doesn’t help when your dads swearing at you and yelling stuff that isn’t constructive 😂
@@spyro-maniac2607 Same, where did you do your test may i ask?
@@rufusgreenleaf2466 Im up in Newcastle
@@spyro-maniac2607 Ah, i did mine in Scunthorpe. Not the best place to be but it had good calming test routes.
I like how he asked if he needs to restart the engine lol
I don't think you make much progress if you don't
Sometimes when you're nervous you ask the most basic things
Maybe he meant like turn the key, my instructors car you just had to put the car in neutral and back into 1st and the engine restarted
It sure does i was a leg shaker myself 😂 still happens now and again
0:02 Please stop teaching this handbrake up thing everytime you stop. Look at what this guy is doing here
It's the rules you have to follow
It’s almost like at the beginning of every video he says these are random people he never taught before 🤣
I passed today thank you for all the videos they have been the biggest help 🎉🎉🎉
I've had my left leg shake on one lesson and I think it was purely just because I didn't set my chair at a comfortable length which meant I was causing it to strain more when trying to hold the biting point when I was stationary. Since then I've just double checked if I'm comfortable with the clutch when doing the cockpit drill and the shake hasn't resurfaced.
had the same thing. i concluded it was a mixture of driving position, muscle fatigue (if not used to holding the clutch down) and indeed anxiety
my leg was shaking as well, thankfully it was only at the first part of the test (parking, idk how it is in the uk but in my country you do a few things and parking before driving), the instructors were nice to me about it. it was weird bc i was feeling rly confident about passing but it still happened to me lol
I remember I was like that when I first started driving. I was like "why tf is my leg doing this" now it doesn't even happen anymore
He has to relax and gain more confidence then he can pass like the rest of us
His knowledge about driving 👍🏻
I only feel bad for the instructor for one reason.
If he comes to egypt he might get a heart attack watching how ppl drive.
Good luck!
Handbrake at a roundabout is a pointless endeavour.
Or traffic lights , or while you are waiting in the traffic... Hand brake ( parking brake ) was designated to use only when you are parked or stationary for longer time
the subtle looks you give when learners don't listen or make mistakes are hilarious.
I wouldn't say the shake is nerves because I've had it, just put your heel on the ground and use the clutch like that in the mean time, then when your foot feels relaxed it will be fine.
Aaah that leg shake , I get it too sometimes and I don’t know why , I’m not stressing or had leg day but still happens
Thxs God i pass my first time attempt test driving✌️in diffucult route
My leg shaked when I did my manourve on my test I was so nervous
10:47 my guy made the passenger start bumpin up and down 😂😂😂
I stalled 3 times because of a shaky leg but passed, if you get the problem just focus on always checking the blind spots every time you set off again and you'll be ok
UK driving test might be the hardest one in Europe to be honest. Just passed my test in Denmark, but the UK one looks way harder.
Ukraine is harder. 2 minor fails count as a serious one there.
@@CerebralRiches Just stalling is deemed a fail in Denmark, I've not seen anywhere, where that can fail you other than Denmark.
Needs learn to hold car for a second or two before going AFTER handbrake released...
It feel so good watching these videos after passing my driving test😂
My leg was shaking like crazy, whilst doing a "parking around the corner" - maneuver, and it was hell.
To me it looks like he doesn’t keep the heel on the floor when pulling away. That’s why the leg shakes more.
Exactly, it’s not constant therefore this seems like a driving position issue as opposed to nerves
Passed on the 17th November with 1 minor 🎉yet still watching this😂
thats my brother brad, top battlelands royale player in the world never seen anyone better with their left foot apart from messi and a trim that makes him look like luke bennet cmon lad
I don't get why he forces people to be recorded and posted online, I would never allow that, just adds more pressure
poor guy looks so nervous abs anxious, he should know that experience will help him overcome his fears.
I passes my test last Monday, I am from Austria btw 😂 still watching the videos haha, instil struggle sometimes because the car in the driving school was a Diesel and so could never stall
I only had to drive 10 minutes haha
No way the Ultimate Driving Course can beat that shaky leg!
Or CAN IT?
With knowledge comes power, feeling more confident will always help
Best way to calm your nerves before a test is to knock back a couple of shots. My mother was terrified of flying so we'd get ger sufficiently plastered before embarking the plane. Sometimes she'd join the flight at 30,000 feet.
I passed my test on the first try and only had one minor which is crazy.
When I passed the test. My family and I immediately went to buy me a used car (with my money) and I had a nice evening too. I got a csgo rankup and drank beer :)
Btw, i was so nervous that i shit so many times. my ass started to hurt a little bit from all that wiping. I have never used that many times toilet in one day.
@@SandlyCut 😂 great story
I did this on both my tests too nerves unreal. Trying automatic next time for that reason
12:20 I know the road well, i check my mirrors, but i would probably do exactly the same, the other car really should not be overtaking there
passed my test with 2 minors however is this geezer was my test invigilator wouldve fail me with 100 majors , give it a rest, charge it, on a gang ting
His legs are shaking because he is pressing the clutch with his toes. He needs to come forward with his chair
Roundabout mate same here .thought I’m the only one having roundabout as pain but thank God have seen my mate lol
He will get over it, I had the same problem as a learner
passed 1 month ago but still watching
The learner was shaking cuz , in his mind ,, omg I am in car with legendary instructor pin ,, @king
I had the same problem with shaking leg, but when I tried to fix my sit position closer to the pedals that become ok
