  • Overview development progress of RTS Link stations: Johor Bahru
    (Street views version)
Video updated as 01 May 2024
    Info:
RTS Link construction project in Johor Bahru is start now
The RTS Link connects Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru to Woodlands in Singapore, serving about 10,000 passengers per hour each way to help ease traffic congestion on the Causeway.
The RTS project is estimated to be RM3.7 billion after factoring in the relocation of the depot from Mandai in Singapore to Johor Bahru.
The RTS will not only ease congestion on the Causeway, the connectivity will also bring economic benefit to both cities.
The RTS Link will also continue to feature co-location of customs, immigration and quarantine (CIQ) facilities, so that passengers undergo CIQ clearance only once, at their point of departure.
The RTS Link stations will be well integrated with the local transport networks in each country.
When completed, the RTS Link will ease Causeway congestion, improve connectivity, foster people-to-people ties and generate shared economic and social benefits.

I agree with proposed elevated ART project in JB because :
Time saving : Building elevated road is quicker than LRT tract.
Cheaper : Elevated roads aren’t expensive compared LRT rail.
Reliable trip & frequency : Self automation, no need to stop at traffic lights, dedicated lanes & no stuck at traffic jams.
Clean energy & no pollution : Electric vehicles & self-charge.
Old johor IMBRT project is big no no ❌ because the bus still needs to stop at traffic lights + other vehicles might carelessly using that BRT lanes & disrupting bus frequency-arrival times.

JB should enhance their attraction place for tourist. My friend slalu tnya apa ada dekat JB, nmpak maju tp sebenarnya tkde apa2 yg menarik pun😢

True! Do dedicated lanes for cafe hipsters, no large green open space parks, no dedicated street food lanes, no attractive street arts, no pasar malam yg famous, no medan selera yg viral.

Frankly speaking, Johor Bahru has its potential. The government should focus more on transport infrastructure. With the RTS is not enough, travelling still very inconvenient for tourists alike. JB should have the MRT, LRT and monorail systems. The bus system should improve in having more routes, accurate arrival and departure timings in order to be the second best city in Malaysia.

Agree. ART is not a long term solution. They should plan for at least a LRT or MRT

what a great street view of the rts project! you can do the similar thing for your monthly progress update and also on the Woodlands North side in Singapore by going along Admiralty Road West into the Woodlands North mrt station and Woodlands Avenue 9. additionally, you can walk into the woodlands waterfront park jetty to get a closer look at the construction works from the Singapore side. the views of the Tebrau Straits overlooking the neighbouring Singapore look spectacular and scenic from the jb promenade close to the r&f princess cove. at last, there will be further progress on the marine viaduct in jb once the final precast segmental girder securely links up with the rest of the segments from pillars to pillars.

If Johor can be leased to Singapore for a period of years just like Hong Kong to the British, it can turn Johor into a first world and rich state among the Federation of Malayan Malaysia when it returns back to the owner. Use Johor Dollar in par with the Singapore currency.

as a johorean, im really disappointed with malaysian gov, they only know to make announcement, previously they said to implement art then want change to lrt, yet still studying about art again, meanwhile sarawak n penang we can see their progress, same got to highway and hospital, only announced about highway senai n hsa 2 but we cannot see the progress, always give false hope, johor still left far behind to catch penang, kedah, sarawak n perak. cannot see the progress just talk no action.

Also the RTS can benefit those going to/from KL due to the KTMB EDTP project which, once complete, will bring the ETS services down to JB from its current terminus at Gemas, making journeys faster due to its higher speed trains as well as no longer having the need to transfer at Gemas.

JB x der ker recreation park mcm Taman Botani KL or Taman Tasik Titiwangsa? Bandar x mesra pejalan kaki n kurang bersih. Terminal Bus Larkin, Terminal Ferry n even CIQ maintenance mcm out n x menarik. X nak rival ker singapore kat sebelah. Potensi JB besar jadi mcm shenzhen, tapi tulah.
