    I've had one since launch but only got to use it this week. To put it in simple terms, it'll be my go to light from here on. Took it on location to an old Abbey for a female warrior viking/medieval shoot and it was flawless. Great feature set and power, a single battery was enough although I brought my pika200 batteries just in case.

    Great video. As for the godox bracket vs S bracket, the godox modifier is way smaller and portable if your moving around as it folds down so small I just put it on the side of my bag.

    Good review of an excellent light. I've recently bought one and the only problem I can see is that I will be leaving the AD400 Pro at home as the weight and size saving with the 300 is considerable (for half a stop less power). I have 2 AD200s so the basic kit will be those and the 300. I think the fact I can use the 200 batteries in the 300 is excellent (as I have a spare and may get another), and the design with the exposed flash tube makes it ideal for soft-box use.
    I disagree a little about the Godox mount accessories (although I have some Bowens-mount boxes, 2 S2 brackets and the AD400 is set up for Bowens 'S'): for travel, the Godox mount substantially reduces the width of the soft-box for carry, and although it means getting extra kit, the quality and value of these accessories (in my case the AD-S85S soft-box) makes them worth consideration for anyone who really wants to minimise the size of their 'travelling' kit.

    They have 2 softboxes that fit the Godox mount. The mount is half the size of a bowens mount so easy to pack. It really is a great addition to the Ad300 and AD400 series of these. Now if they just put out a strip light.
    Great shots. And you're models are stunning.

    Lovely video Tommy, really helpful 👍 I’m currently using a couple of godox speedlights with a couple of ad200s and a twin head AD-B2 for when I want some extra power. I really like the 300pro so think I will definitely be adding it to my kit. Thank you 🙏

    Cracking video Tommy.
    The CITI 300 Pro does look interesting. It is a bit of a puzzle re the batteries. The specs look almost the same bar the MaH being slightly lower on the 300 battery.
    Apparently the recycle time is slightly slower when using a Pika/AD200 battery in them.
    That said I am looking forward to getting my hands on a test unit from Pixapro.

    • @TommyReynolds89
      @TommyReynolds89  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Richard Bradbury thanks Richard 😃 you’re right the batteries are very confusing! I actually managed to ‘squeeze’ in a 300 battery into a PIKA200.... don’t do that unless you want to spend 5 minutes trying to pull it out 😅

    Awesome video Tommy!
    Could you do a comparison of the 300 against the 200?
    I'm actually thinking about upgrading my lighting setup and the huge benefit I can see with the 200 over the 300 is the option to combine two 200's with the AD-B2 to roughly get a 400.
    Would be interesting to hear your opinion about it!

  • @shadowyzman7078
    @shadowyzman7078 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the light but it's a tad bit too expensive compared to the AD200 Pro. I had to go with that instead because of the pricetag. The only thing lacking on the 200 and the old 600BM that I have are the modeling lights which are too dim to be useful

    Great video Tommy. I’m looking at getting some higher power strobes. Would you go for this 300pro or two pixa200s with the bracket to pair them? Thanks 👍

    • @TommyReynolds89
      @TommyReynolds89  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hmm that’s a good question Robert. I would be inclined to say get 2 pikas instead of 1 300. Together they’re more powerful than the 300 and you have 2 for 2 light setups if you want to split them up :)

  • @paulscinemareel5671
    @paulscinemareel5671 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tommy if you keep the modelling light on - how does it affect the battery life in terms of number of 1/1 full flash pops ? Rough idea.

    • @TommyReynolds89
      @TommyReynolds89  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Admittedly I haven’t tested this Paul, but I do know you’ll get around 320 shots at full power or so it says on the site. I’m going to assume that’s with the modelling light off maybe so I imagine even less than that

    • @paulscinemareel5671
      @paulscinemareel5671 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TommyReynolds89 Thanks! I did a bit of rough math on paper. Since it is a 44 Wh battery, if we run just the 12W LED @ say 10% power and never fire the flash. That means that it will run for 44 Wh / 2W (I’m also accounting for 1 W light and the fan that is running ). That means 22 Hours. If you crank it up a bit let’s say we are using 6 W (about 40% LED power with fan running) - that means about 7 hours. This is without any flash pops. So that means if a typical photo session is 2 hours you will use 10% (2/22) of your battery at the lowest setting (1) and about 30% of your battery (2/7) if the modelling light is on at say setting 4. So that means your full flash rate will go to maybe 285-290 shots with at 10% LED power and maybe around 225 shots with 40%. I use AD200’s and just got my AD300 today (ordered two more right away). If others have real world experience and can share that would be great.
