I've had mine for a few years now and love it; it's great for work, and combined with packing cubes you can get up to 3 days of clothes in there. Just added a MOLLE water bottle pouch to the velcro compression straps on the side pockets and it works well.
Mate I’ve had mine eight years I think. And use it cornstalk. It’s probably been to 50 countries and get a lot,of abuse. It’s still in great condition.
I've had this bag for about 2years now, and it has worked out perfect. I use it as a work bag, and I'm hard on bags. Very very durable. Lots of individual pockets, which I love. I didn't have problems with stitching or zippers. The only thing I didn't like was the direction of the zippers for the side pockets, like they should zip the opposite direction.
I have the same bag and something pretty cool is if you open the bottom zipper and load from the top you get a large bag that hangs out of the bottom that damn near doubles the space, i used mine as a cloths satchel when i went camping
I've been carrying one of these for almost ten years now. It's still in excellent shape with zero fraying or tearing. I do agree with your assessment, but I think you have to think of this pack as one that was designed literally over a decade ago and has never been updated to meet modern demands. You can tell how dated it is because on mine, the glasses case doubles as a CD player holder and has a little flap at the top for headphones to pass through. I believe the pocket on the shoulder strap is also meant for a phone or MP3 player. Pro tip, the dry pocket at the bottom is great for putting your lunch in to carry to work without worrying about it leaking and getting on whatever is in your bag. Also the hard case on top is good for holding sandwich bags of chips without getting crushed. Bottom line, the bag is quite dated, and it's definitely overly tacticool, but the older ones at least are constructed very well. Would I buy it if I was looking for a bag today? Heck no, but I got it used from a coworker for $40 and have carried it for ten years, so I find it very hard to replace when it's still in such good shape.
Insightful reply. Thank you. I know that you wrote this years ago, but in 2022 it's even more dates. The rise of OneBag-ing has a big play in it getting dated.
Are the zippers YKK? I find those are the only brand of zippers on any bag or piece of clothing, that actually work...usually for the lifetime of the product
They aren't for pistol magazines... To get to them you have to undo 2 carabiners undo a zip and lift a flip... that is not a fast and tactical way to get a magazine.
Have you found any good uses for those carabiner clip things on the front of the back yet? I can’t think of anything it’d be good for except maybe attaching gloves to them?
One of the metal carabiners just broke after a year of use. A year later the spring broke in the second one. I did not abuse them. I wouldn't expect metal parts breaking first. Not recommended.
Perfectly considered and analyzed - as always. Like one of you other viewers - I agree that the older ones were constructed better - and also that it is a dated design relative to past tech and times. And, like him - I’m growing old with mine so am connected with it and more forgiving. But objectively speaking - as you always are - your review is dead on. Excellent as always... thanks Nick!
im looking to start my own brand similar to that of oakley. its great when you can get an honest review of a product and not someone blowing smoke up the brands ass
I really like to see MOLLE on a backpack and wish it would catch on outside the mall-ninja crowd. I'm surprised by its absence on something marketed using the T-word.
Try Cannae Pro Gear, Phalanx if you want good quality construction and something a little more purpose built. Good organization and nice accessibility, and yes it clamshells.
I also have an older version of this bag and it is constructed way better. They now have soo many bags, clothes, shoes, gloves, etc. That their QC has fallen. When I bought my kitchen sink backpack they were making like 10-15 packs. Now they are making like 30-40 packs including giant duffels and luggage. They need to cut back on products and focus on QC.
Man I’ve had mine for a few years and love it, but I need to clean mine so bad I don’t even use it any more but I do t know how to go about cleaning it. 😩🤦♂️🤣 Haven’t used it in at least 6 months now because I can’t pack cloths in it now with out some smell getting g on them. Lots of camping/fishing/hunting trips with it so it’s got some funk to it haha.
When I first saw that top pocket, I thought it was for headphones. Can headphones fit in that pocket? What are those metal "C" rings on the bottom for?
Good pack, but i fond it to be a bit heavy. Good for travel 🧳 carry on. I only use it for carry-on short trips. For EDC I use the Maxpedition Mongo much better for daily travel and carry.
I had looked at these for a while. The premise is that they are highly durable. The tradeoff is that they weigh a lot empty. I still don't have one. I have plenty of highly durable backpacks with excellent organization that are not excessively heavy while empty.
I just bought 2 similar backpacks with the intention of sending one back to keep one. I am an Oakley fanatic and I'm really depressed with how crap they both are. Fully agree with this review and the "glasses pocket" does not even fit any of my Oakley glasses open as it appears to be intended...
I think you might’ve gotten a counterfeit. My zippers work smooth, and perfectly. The stitching is nice and neat on the entire pack no stray, threads everything is trimmed nicely, no weird creases, one of the best backpacks I’ve ever owned and I buy quality backpacks. So either they improved the quality significantly or you got a bad black market bag. Sounds like you’re reviewing a completely different bag. Mine is completely SUPER heavy duty and EXTREMELY well made! You repeat yourself many times and as another poster mentioned it sounds like you’re literally whining!!
Anecdotal. "My bag was great so you're wrong" Quality control means every piece of gear has the same meticulous review process. Attacking his style of delivery because you disagree (which seems to be doing fine as he has over 150k subs vs your 18) makes you seem a bit whiney.
I’ve owned one for several years. I find it’s too big with no division of space for me.... not often I need to carry enough to make use of the enormous main compartment. My biggest complain though is the top. It’s a two handed operation to load. That top want to close relentlessly while you are trying to put stuff inside. Quality wise mine has held up very well.
add the start of the video i thought he was making that voice on purpose...like from some cartoon or a character from seinfeld. i was wrong. its his normal voice.
I've had mine for a few years now and love it; it's great for work, and combined with packing cubes you can get up to 3 days of clothes in there. Just added a MOLLE water bottle pouch to the velcro compression straps on the side pockets and it works well.
Your reviews are great because you always point out things that I usually do not notice until after I have spent my money. Keep up the honesty.
I have been on the fence with buying this for years. Finally a review from somebody I trust. Thank you.
Mate I’ve had mine eight years I think. And use it cornstalk. It’s probably been to 50 countries and get a lot,of abuse. It’s still in great condition.
Working from home, pantsless! the American dream

I thought that top pocket looked like it was designed for a diskman!
Insightful reply. Thank you. I know that you wrote this years ago, but in 2022 it's even more dates. The rise of OneBag-ing has a big play in it getting dated.
"Hot dog down the hallway situation." My sides are in orbit LOL.
Are the zippers YKK? I find those are the only brand of zippers on any bag or piece of clothing, that actually work...usually for the lifetime of the product
Hard to go wrong with YKK
They just work
riri is a lot better
The “Tactical” stamp is because it’s geared for LE. The inner pouches are for 4 pistol magazines. Well made bag.
They aren't for pistol magazines...
To get to them you have to undo 2 carabiners undo a zip and lift a flip... that is not a fast and tactical way to get a magazine.
You’re voice reminds me of Mort Goldman from family guy😂😂😂😂
Im sorry i had to say it
Or Barry kripke from big bang theory. 😄
I was thinking the same thing
😂😂
I picked mine up for $50 to pair with an Oakley duffel bag I have had for years. It is definitely difficult to truly fill the main pocket.
My former job was in a tactical line career so i bought this bag and i feel oakley kitchen sink is the king of all tactical backpacks
My exact reaction when I saw this bag 17:34
This guy had me cracking up all threw the review Lmaoooooo
I am thinking about getting this as my forever backpack. Is this a good idea, would anyone recommend this?
I've had this for about 5 years. It's extremely durable.
Have you found any good uses for those carabiner clip things on the front of the back yet? I can’t think of anything it’d be good for except maybe attaching gloves to them?
@@Sarah_KinzI hang my noise cancelling headphones when in airports. But they could maybe make them so you can detach them.
One of the metal carabiners just broke after a year of use. A year later the spring broke in the second one. I did not abuse them. I wouldn't expect metal parts breaking first. Not recommended.
If it had reflectivity to it, I'd buy it for my motorcycle trips. But alas, it does not. I bought a Riderbag on Amazon, and I absolutely love it.
That carpet looks comfy.
I have this bag too but wonder does it goes well with office wear as i just have a job change
Its around 35L- 40L so i use it for travel as well - you put laptop , clothes in and u are good to go, bag into the plane and you dont care !
12:08 Carrying packages to the postoffice is not tacticool!
Perfectly considered and analyzed - as always.

your review is dead on.
Excellent as always... thanks Nick!
I considered getting this bag years ago.
Would this be a good backpack for school or nah?
Looks heavy as heck... thanks for the review Nick.
I went around Europe for a week with this pack when I was in college
Nick... Please tell me you had clothes on for this review 😂🤣
Addendum: I have seen the shorts!
Don't ask the question
If you can't handle the answer.
I prefer not knowing
Lol....i think I saw a mushroom tip "cum" in to view on this video!😆
im looking to start my own brand similar to that of oakley. its great when you can get an honest review of a product and not someone blowing smoke up the brands ass
Im excited to see that gr1 review. I was going to buy it but instead went with the maxpedition falcon 2. Not to late to reconsider though
I spy with my little eye a hairy hobbit toe.

12:00 Sounds like the opposite of a TARDIS?
Is this a water proof or water resistance
Great review man!

Love the video. Glad your toes are well manicured!
Nice review. Very informative. Thank you.
Is this a review in the buff ??
The Nick has on shorts.
I thought the bottom compartment was also for shoes.
7:40 would have thought more like muff headphones like beats or the like.
Idk, that foot looked more metric to me. I think I'm going to need to see your NIST certification on that.
Totally honest review, it made think twice 🤔. Good video.
Just got one for £80 or $100.
Thanks for your review 👍
Used?
I'd suggest checking out the Red Oxx C-Ruck for an everyday backpack.
Excellent review. You're a gifted off the cuff speaker if you legit weren't reading from a script.
Had me at "Because I guess I am carrying around wet swim trunks I guess" :D
Quality over quantity
Has mine about eight t years now. It’s used constantly around the world. Gets a lot,of abuse. As I work offshore. It’s still like new
Do you think the main compartment could fit a dead women's torso?
Yes!!! Haven’t heard or said “hotdog down a hallway” since high school circa 02 lmao bringing back memories
can you compare this one with the Enduro 2.0 (30 l)? thanks.
$150.00?
Well that makes the purchasing decision a lot easier to make
You mean not purchasing decision.
Is that a good deal?
$150? Who is selling it for $150?
thank you, I like that is 34L
Man I’ve had mine for a few years and love it, but I need to clean mine so bad I don’t even use it any more but I do t know how to go about cleaning it. 😩🤦♂️🤣

Absolutely love your accent
Good review.
Try the Cannae legion day pack by Cannae pro gear, I think you will like it.
What are you supposed to hang from those three rings on the outside?
Grenades
Nintendo DSI's 3 of em.
You should do a review of the North Face pack. I would like to hear your thoughts on brands like Jansport and Osprey.
8:55 Pepper Spray?
When I first saw that top pocket, I thought it was for headphones. Can headphones fit in that pocket? What are those metal "C" rings on the bottom for?
Nick what if I got a great deal for $115 is it worth it?
I'm watching this video just because I love your narration, you need to go into Voice over acting my dude!
Good pack, but i fond it to be a bit heavy. Good for travel 🧳 carry on. I only use it for carry-on short trips. For EDC I use the Maxpedition Mongo much better for daily travel and carry.
A 200$ fanny pack? Dude. Wt actual f
You should do a video on the new spyderco endela
If you get a chance Nick, have a look at the OGIO Renegade RSS. Its the gadget mans wet dream.
Would be nice if you would put the camera somewhere else so we can actually see more of the pack and a bit better.
I had looked at these for a while. The premise is that they are highly durable. The tradeoff is that they weigh a lot empty. I still don't have one. I have plenty of highly durable backpacks with excellent organization that are not excessively heavy while empty.
Will a Batman mask fit in the sunglasses pocket?
All the ones I've looked at are like that to
I just bought 2 similar backpacks with the intention of sending one back to keep one. I am an Oakley fanatic and I'm really depressed with how crap they both are. Fully agree with this review and the "glasses pocket" does not even fit any of my Oakley glasses open as it appears to be intended...
Hot dog down the hallway!?!?!? Lol. Very nice choice of wording sir. 😝
...THAT BACKPACK LOOKS AS GOOD AS AN ALIEN WARE BACKPACK, AND THOSE ALIEN WARE BACKPACKS ARE EXPENSIVE ..
I wonder why the hell there is a pocket for ironman's mask on the top flap???
on the label does it say it was made in china?
Thanks
great review earned a sub
Buy it for life? Ha ha, not anymore (except maybe some knife brands, like ZT). Buy military surplus if it has to last, at least that's my experience.
Yeah, the Chinese do make durable US military surplus.

I was between this backpack and the Boblbee
I got the Boblbee 👌👌👌👌👌

Just ordered one off Amazon, 1/2 off so $120
would be nice to see your review on the goruck, just saying...
Missing from this review:
Big toe Batman masks
Heros in a half shell. It just pops it right loose on there.
With a pizza pocket included.
Awesome bag, good review. That voice tho...
This dude about to duel yugi for his soul
This pack is heavy bc of metal adornments
Guessing this was filmed during or after the batman mask trial???? Nick got a bit hot........Like these rugged Oakley bags!
6:00 is it for a firearm? Kinda got that shape to it
Foot reveal?
It seems a good backpack as a backpack as to why it's tactical cool yea very silly thanks dood
The Abyss would have been a better name for the bag
add the start of the video i thought he was making that voice on purpose...like from some cartoon or a character from seinfeld.
i was wrong.
its his normal voice.
Got the new one..
Just use an empty rice bag.....thats the most suitable suggestion as per your preferences.
Sounds like an old Jerky Boys comedy tape.
