i use this when im walking to the grocery store. :) i don't drive so this backpack helps me with huge loads. been using this for more than 10 years now.
I purchased this backpack a couple of years back and was really impressed. However, after regular use it began to tear and fall apart. The leather top portion becomes misshapen and warped when exposed to the elements, and the cable portion began to tear from the main portion. There is an updated version available that my friend bought, that is synthetic material. I would highly recommend that over the latter.
I have this bag in stealth, that "stealth" paint must way a ton because its heavy as hell and the side pocket on mine came completely unstitched on the first zipper pull. Oh and that came off as well. Great review though and the bag does hold a crapload of stuff. I will use it untill it's completely destroyed because I paid $200 over 3 years ago. Keep up the good work bud!
This is one of the best Backpacks on the market. I purchased mine 3 years ago and its still mint. I carry a ROG Asus Laptop one of the bigger ones on the market and it fits. I have the old and new ROG 17" laptops and this is the best pack for them. It holds a ton of weight. I can fit the big Asus cord sets on the sides with no issues. This bag will bring a lot of attention and your friends will buy one too. I have had a lot of people I know pick one up after I bought this. Must buy. Don't listen to the Haters this is a top bag. Come in a ton of different colors and materials. Check out Oakely in NY if can, they had just about all of them on display.
I got this same exact back with the red outline on Ebay for $115 with shipping. Absolutely check everywhere before you buy. The price can range from $100 to $225. Oakley charges $225 in their store. Alot of people try to charge $30-$40 just to ship this bag which is an absolute rip-off. Also, the newer version of this bag DOES NOT have the holes on the bottom like this one and the belt clip is plastic connector not metal like this one
Great review. I currently own the Oakley Panel backpack. It's a nice bag, great for over night trips, urban everyday, and a travel bag. One thing I've noticed though, be mindful of stitches breaking. I have found a couple stitches coming undone or breaking from average sized loads. Also with the side zipper, be careful loading up the main compartment, there's no side straps to take pressure off the side zipper, I've noticed sometimes there's a lot of pressure on that zipper. Just some food for thought. Thanks
I just bought this pack to replace my old leather work bag .I need to tote a lot of gear so this should work out well another great review , Iam glad I bought the pack .
I just bought one yesterday 10/19/14 off craigslist, this pack is like new $50.00.. I was LUCKY !! this is an awesome bag.. I don't want to be like most people and throw out the negatives, because this is a great rugged bag That Works as it should. My only thought is why are the zippers plastic ?? steel or brass ect.. for the money and to complete the look metal zippers would be nice. It really is a great pack..
I have the stealth. For some reason I don’t recall mine having the drain holes. Maybe I just haven’t paid much attention to that. I’ll check it tomorrow. It’s makes a great shower bag for us truckers. You can pack all your personal items and change of clothing in it!!
I bought mine after I went to an Oakley store and a Marine veteran told me the kitchen sink is all he carried while he was in Iraq and Afghanistan. He sold me on the durability of this bag. I've had mine for years and still no complaints
That side zipper for easy access to the laptop compartment? Yea id actually attach hook and loop in there and use that compartment for a CCW and extra mags. Just put the laptop in the main compartment in a laptop sleeve.....
Bought the kitchen and bathroom sink. Both purchased online. Best looking packs I've seen and seem very durable. Kept the bathroom sink and returned the kitchen sink. As you indicated there is plenty of storage space but I need something that would allow more internal compartments. Looking at Maxpedition.
Chris Obuch The Bathroom Sink was purchased as my EDC bag during winter months. in addition to my EDC, the bag is large enough to carry additional cold weather gear. The Kitchen sink was purchased as my Road Bag/Vehicle Bag. While there was adequate space for all my gear it was not set up internally to segregate my gear.
Great review. I have been looking at this pack on Amazon, but they don’t have enough pictures of it to give me a decent idea of the size and versatility of the pack. It’s a little big for what I need it for, but I’ll definitely keep this one in mind if my needs change. I subscribed because of this review. Nice work.
Does every Oakley Kitchen sink have little pockets on each side of the straps? I have seen some kitchen sink bags with only on little pocket on a left strap.
Very good review! I've been using the Oakley Panel Pack for a few years now which is also another good backpack. Upgrading to the Kitchen Sink that i got abt a week ago. I should receive it on Monday.
Do you think I will be able to strip or attach my scuba fins to this backpack? Also do you think it will be a decent camera bag? Last question: what is the weight of the backpack?
First I love oakley...well I used to love their stuff alot more before they were sold to Luxottica....but I've had this pack..its very good..but now I own the oakley big kitchen pack...which is very similar but a lil bigger I think....but yes he's right it's a great very sturdy pack..perfect bug out pack..but if u need something a lil smaller look at the oakley bathroom sink...I think that's my next pack just because I'm addicted to oakley products and have been for many years...but they really do make good stuff..I just really really wish they didn't sell out to Luxottica..because some of the products now have that mass produced feel..not that oakley well made products....its sad when things are really good products and then they sell out for the dollar idk...maybe the owner needed the money idk...we never know someone else's struggle....but good product none the less.....thanks for reading my rant....lol
Same for me, Just got mine yesterday as a gift for my self. Bought it in an Official Oakley store but does not have the hole drain and lock at the bottom. Don't know if this is the latest though
Must not be the latest, I bought mine a year ago and it doesn’t have the drain holes, it only has the small compartment on one of the two shoulder straps, it doesn’t have any compartments on the waist strap either
1.I think it was funny comparing a maxpedition jumbo that's not even a messenger size bag and not even ment to be half the size of that pack 2.If doesn't have even some what of a frame system have fun carrying all that gear 3. If you want to do a real comparison pick up the Maxpedition gryfalcon IT WILL DESTROY THIS PACK!!! only my opinion you guys think what you want
I bought one to try out, and Liked it so much that I had my wife order 1 for each of our field crew employees that work out in the oil patch. So that was 389 bags. We employ welders, heavy equipment operators, truck drivers with low Boy off road experience because the vast majority of our work is way out off of many miles of dirt & gravel roads. Our company does Oilfield Construction 🔨 🚧 in Western North Dakota & Eastern Montana & all over Wyoming. We also employ pipe fitters millwrights scaffold builders etc. we employ 389 full time very well paid and extremely well compensated with very good day for day per diem. $130 a day. Each day you work at least 10 hours per day. And excellent heath, dental, eye, Drug & Alcohol Rehab, long and short term disability insurance. And paid company FR Uniforms.
So this bag should do the trick for a straight truck tanker driver who provides on site fuel delivery service for clients at landfills, construction sites, to equipment out in natural disasters rain or shine. Thinking about ordering 600 for my seasoned drivers as a token of my appreciation
If i heard better durability reviews about these packs from oakley i would be all over them but from what i have seen they fall apart rather quickly vs price point
@@EverydayTacticalVids Nice video I bought an Oakley Kitchen Sink this morning this video helped me make my decision - Knifes are a touchy subject here in the UK at the moment probably like guns are in the US.
I loved this back pack but sold it because I hated the 3 metal rings that protrude off the front. They scratched the paint on my car several times throwing it in the back seat to go places. The hooks are useless and did nothing but scratch my car up.
I see no reason to spend such an amount of money on a backpack if it is going to be used for an emergency. I have a $20 backpack I bought at Walmart with all my emergency kit items in the trunk of my car. Ideally I will never even have to take the backpack out of the trunk. Worst case scenario I have to use it for a few days or a week. Either way it's an inexpensive but decently made bag. I'd rather use the $150 to buy more gear or else just save the money. That's my two cents anyway.
+Robert Martinez Go for it. I got it 2 weeks ago and I LOVE it. It is by far the best bag I've ever owned. I have 2 jansport right packs, Thule cross over, North Face Recon, North Face Route just to name a few and none of them compare to this one. Straps are VERY comfortable. Removable waist strap. A lot of space. The only thing I don't like about it is the lack of pockets. had they added maybe 2-3 more compartments given the giant size, it would be perfect.
Robert Martinez ive had mine almost 2 years and love it, use it for my boat gear bag and also my travel bag, the size allows me to use it as travel bag and it is very comfortable.
That thing is trash. HEAVY AS HELL. It looks great, the material and quality of stitching is great but it is so much pure cosmetic weight. Good luck carrying that around for extended periods.
This bag really isn't heavy, it just looks it. I've used it for travelling carrying it fully loaded through airports etc and it's not hard to carry. Also it has the belt strap if you're so inclined to use it.
i use this when im walking to the grocery store. :) i don't drive so this backpack helps me with huge loads. been using this for more than 10 years now.
its been out for 10 years?
Grabbed up one of these, will be delivered tomorrow. I purchased the camo version. I can't wait to get it tomorrow 😊
I've had this pack for about a year. I use it for work. It is an awesome pack and I would definitely suggest it.

Thanks for sharing - good to hear that info.
In that "wet pocket" on the bottom, I like to see a rain cover for the backpack.☔️
I got this bag over 8 years ago and still love it .. nothing wrong with it even over the years .. ps back then I was $250

Thanks SO much; Great review. Appreciate how you stick to the subject of the bag and not just rambling on about other irrelevant bs. Good Job!

I lucked up and bought mine used for $60
Where please 🙏
Yes, please where did you get it from?
China
@@zeeshimon7138 a store called Marshall's

I got mine for 100$. Keep your eye out for cheaper bags. Great value!
I just got this bag pack as a gift. Learnt so much from this review. Thanks Bro. I'm most impressed about the underneath compartment with drain holes.
Glad I could help
That side zipper for easy access to the laptop compartment? Yea id actually attach hook and loop in there and use that compartment for a CCW and extra mags. Just put the laptop in the main compartment in a laptop sleeve.....
Damn you got more knives in that pack than the joker does in his entire jacket!

Awesome video and review! Really made me want to buy one now.
I have this exact one but mine does not have the drain holes on the bottom
Is there an area for a water bladder and hole for the bite tube to come out?
Yes mine has them options

Is this a good size for let's say a 2-day hike.?
Depends how much you pack I guess, but for me - absolutely.
Could this be used for school use?
Dankus Memeious indeed. Just kind of big.
Great thorough review man, thanks!!
Danny Gonzalez glad it helped.
lovely bag, lovely review
Thanks - I appreciate it.
how durable would you say this is for extended hiking and camping trips?
I need something that's going to hold up to hard use.
thanks
I wouldn't use this for backpacking - I'd go for something really built for that purpose.
The title of this vid says "Great for A Bug Out Bag", I guess you meant bug out as in driving and not hiking/camping?
A55tech yeah. I need more form/structure for a hiking bag personally.
All colors on Amazon
The side pockets you can fit an entire water bottle in. Just btw
does this fit most airline's for carry-on
+Dan Mazzucco It may be a bit wide if you pack it too tight.
they wouldn't really care buddy, ive seen people bringing pretty big luggage in planes, this's just a bad.
This would be great storage for my S&M toys
Is this waterproof
What are the 3 hooks on the front for??
Various attachment points.
Can it be used as hand luggage on airplanes?
Yup.
Bought this bag it sucks didn't last a day. Weak shoulder straps. Ripped shoe hole leaks into the main section sand all over. Top wont stay open.
Is it water resistant?
For me it has been, but not water-proof for sure.
+EverydayTacticalVids it performs well in the rain right?
Yup - here's a link: amzn.to/1YgleZd
This back Is actually a pretty rare peice
Dang..everything but the kitchen sink. Lll. Cute. But the kitchen sink can fit in there.
Good review. How much does the pack weigh?
4 pounds.

Can I use this as back packers??
貴博乾 You could - but I'd get one made for backpacking instead.
Okay,thanks!!
You still had room for at least two large zombie heads in there!:)
Is this water proof?
Seems to be water-resistant.
Soo..in Kuwait they sell the replicas that are exact quality for less than 40 bucks

what the hell are those metal hooks are for?
+bugaljuice Hanging items off the back.

i meant. do those locks do anything or they are just a fancy way to close the backpack?
+bugaljuice Just a fancy way to close the pack - nothing to write home about in my perspective.
lol
They were originally used as quick fit and release buckles on parachute leg straps. So yes, tacticool.
There are some slightly different versions of the bag, mostly cosmetic.
Just bought.one in the UK for £80 or $100. Bargain
