We agreed to talk politics right before we sat down. Elections were in full swing at the time and Daron thought it would be a good idea. Great guy, fun interview.
Rick, if you have the time I was wondering, does your job seem like it's more work or fun? How hard is it to work with all the different artists you have worked with? how many of them come in with good ideas and you don't have to play the third ear and tell them what will work and what won't? From his solo work oh, it seems like he has a good grasp on the entire process and I was just wondering if that something that was naturally occurring or that he possibly learned along the way
@@Cognitively_m_paired_4_Kamala Hey Robert apologies for taking forever to get back to you. Every interview is fun. The idea that part of my gig is to talk to artists who have real influence is fun and interesting. I go into every interview with more questions than I know that I'll get to as I've found the best ones don't follow the track in your head going in. It's important to listen first, then ask questions. And if whoever you're interviewing feels like talking about something other than what they do, it can make things even more compelling. Personally I like to ask them what's "taboo" before we start talking. I interviewed Mike Ness of Social Distortion years ago and asked ahead of time. He didn't want to talk about recent personal issues but was down with talking about the passing of his best friend and Social D co-founder Dennis. I also go into interviews reminding myself that anyone can be having a bad day- rock star or not so if/when I get the vibe that whoever I'm talking with doesn't really want to be there, I keep things short and get the basics. Daron is wicked smart and was up for anything. He was also so easy to chat with. He caught up with me a few hours later and thanked me as well. Cheers Robert
@@sagesarabia5053 Hi Sage. He might not have liked how I phrased the question. I really don’t know. Daron was a great interview either way and we had a good time talking. Happy New Year!

Well, most musicians like him, who get censored or banned or looked down on for their lyrics and musical style are often the most rational and open minded ones. But the world sees what TV and radio tells them to, so i have no faith in this species anymore. If a reporter would've asked Rihanna what she thinks about Obama or Trump, you would've had a video with 1.000.000.000.000.000.000 views.
They only did a couple of songs that are political. Such as "Byob" "Pluck" "Holy mountains" They even said it their selfs. They don't see the band as a political band, even tho some songs do have to do with politics. but i get you dude. I know what you mean.

Indeed that was a brilliant line.Spoken like a true Armenian, some of the first people to follow Christianity.
Sky That's why I don't really like to use that word. But yeah, I agree.
Well, religion NEEDS to be organized, or else it's only spiritually.
Ignorant in the subject Daron is, I must say.
Religion is toxic IMO.

It's weird not seeing him and see every question with "fellatio" or "prostitution"
I’m surprised he didn’t say fellatio at least once.

Watch this video at .5 speed and laugh your ass off.
This is very accurate.
