Yes on that, Matt can we as viewers get an explanation on how Humphries gets his dart to land upwards like he's using short stems? It's insane how he does it with 65mm Stems landing like how he does.
Stem Lenght and Flight Shape is a massive thing for how the way the dart enters the board. Their either gonna stick up or lay flat or even somewhere in between. I like my darts to land in the board a bit like Luke Humphries. I achieve this by using a Medium Stem and Standard Big Wing Flight. This is always trial and error until you find something that suits your throw. Great content as always, guys. 👏🏻
Would be great if you guys could did another practice video which wasn't for checkouts. I'm getting into darts and have been watching these videos and look forward to put your tips into practice when my board and darts arrive
I think you guys are listening in on my darts chat as i was only asking about stem length as i ordered the wrong ones lol thank you for the advice and love the channel
I bought g10 taylor darts and found they looked down a lot and hated them. Put short kflex on and looked up but after a month tried for a laugh the g10 shafts and flights again and they were flat with a bit of lift. I now use just use this combo as I now prefer them, so over time my throw has changed.
I also found that longer stems provide more glide for a more controlled throw. With very short stems I found that I had to peg the dart rather than throw it, thus sacrifices accuracy. But that is just my findings. Might be different for other players with a different style of throw.
been wondering this for a bit now. it seems mediums stems sort of leave more room for error, while short does not. i actually don't see any advantage to throwing short on paper..
Last week or two I have been trying to find my optimal stem length. Threw 72% average with short, went to medium and threw a 100% average. I told myself i would throw medium for the next few days (as i have been throwing a lot of short) and the next day i performed very poorly in my practice AND matches. I don’t get it lol
Also... my darts/fingers seem to get sticky after I throw for 15 minutes. Even chalk/powder didn't help me get rid of that sticky feeling. I guess it's just sweat or I'm eating too much sugar. Really do not understand it and it happens with all of my darts, no matter the style of grip on the dart.
Weird. mine does the opposite. I want a perfectly flat landing. can not stand any pitch up. The longer and bigger the flight the more it pitches up. even throwing a longer shaft with a slim flight, it pitches up terribly. I throw a 24mm shaft and what is cuesoul calls a SHEILD shape. works perfect for me
do you have any recommendations on stem length for soft tip darts, as they tend to stick straight unless tangling with a previous dart. my barrels are 22 grams. thanks for any info.
„Generally, the longer the stem, the flatter it lands”. And here it is Luke Humphries saying „ok, hold my beer”

It has a lot to do with his dart being front weighted and where he holds it, sadly its not an exact science
@@missiondarts thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated and keep on coming with the videos. Love your guys work 🎯❤️
good video, would rather have heard commentary or talking when throwing darts over that obnoxious music on repeat.

@user-vg5mung5764hgftj Actually, I don't like The Beatles extremely overrated , Especially in Liverpoooooool 🙄
@user-vg5mung5764hgftj Oh it was A joke? Hmm 🤔 oh, I get the Joke now, YOU! Hahahaha 🤣
@@user-vg5mung5764hgftj Looking at his videos he's probably better than most the people watching this stem tips vid.
Sometimes my darts pull left.
So, the flight is to the right a bit instead of straight.
Why does this happen?
Love these type of videos Gents :) 👍
Glad you like them!

Every Friday a new routine
Its not about the size of the shaft its how you use it!
😊
INDEED!! 😂
They’ll say that just to make you feel better 😂😂
In reality bigger= better
I use a John Lowe type barrel interest in your opinion on stem and flight would be best. I have a slowish throw and use 21g darts
I think you guys are listening in on my darts chat as i was only asking about stem length as i ordered the wrong ones lol thank you for the advice and love the channel
Our pleasure!

So should you be gripping the dart where the balance point is ,I have front weight mission john oshea darts
not necessarily as it depends on your grip style

I'm relatively new to darts, but i notice I'm less accurate with longer stems.
Same here
Interesting I like longer stems and barrels
Feel like I have more control
Never tried to find the balance points though. Good vid

What angle of entry do you prefer point down or more flatter
Andy likes point up, Matt likes point down
Stem types have always confused me. Thanks fellas!
Surely it’s what you feel comfortable with and can throw consistently.
Good video. How about length of points though? Does that do same as stems and alter the balance point again??
it does alter things, for sure

Your best bet would be to try various sizes and see what works for you
I always got told if you have a long barrel use a short stem. If you have a short barre use a long stem. Is this true???
That's just so you don't change the point of balance.
That is a pretty basic but useful rule of thumb, it would always be my starting point
Matthew, can you review new molded system Force90? 😊
don't miss Thursdays video then.......!
i use intermediates and standard flights and mine land with a small angle meaning I'm able to stack them
I throw the pixels littlers when I throw a longer stem they sit up when I throw shorter it lies flat dunno what to do now 😂
Try different moulded flight stem systems
Sometimes my darts pull left.
So, the flight is to the right a bit instead of straight.
Why does this happen?
Good question hopefully our tutorials will help in the future
@@missiondarts lol thanks for the help!
Are you saying that a flatter flight is what you should be aiming for?
nope, a dart that sits down or upright is best
@@missiondarts my son, whose 13 has just got his own set of darts, what distance should he stand from the board?
Can the stance affect the darts and the foot placement
yes, video on that in the future..
Andy what weight and model darts are you throwing?? Can I see please thank you?
23g available v soon
@@missiondarts Andy is this what you going too!!! Or been always shooting 23?????
An important questions is how does the player want their dart to enter the board. Now that is a subject for a video!!!!
Point first I reckon
@@missiondarts Well played. However this is a serious thought for many of us.
My girlfriend says length matters but unfortunately I can’t help her with that 🤣 😂
I'm relatively new to the game of darts and very much passionate about it. However, I am less accurate
unfortunately im in the extremely short camp, juat ask my wife.
cool hands darts don’t land flat 🤔
very heavily front weighted darts will change the dynamics also
I don't want no scrubs.. a scrub is a guy... AAARRRGGHHHHH
