Had my second fistula surgery. This is so painful. I don’t wish this on my worst enemy. Came to the conclusion that I have to completely change my diet
I've had my Fistula surgery 5 days ago the first 2 days were not too bad but once my pain medication ran out I wasn't quite a bit of discomfort I went to the er Yesterday and receive more pain medication as well as stool softener I'm going to see my surgeon tomorrow I've also started using extra strength hemorrhoid cream . It seems to be helping. I see my surgeon tomorrow afternoon ill update you guys tomorrow. Thanks Doctor theses video's have be a big help in Educating me about what is happening to me. I don't feel as alone . God bless you
I went and saw my surgeon today And he told me that the pain was to be expected and gave me more painkillers and instructed me to move the seton backer forth that may help relieve some of the pressure and that the pain that I am experiencing is from from the swelling
Honestly as person who has chronic anal fissure it took me sometime and lots of exacerbating pain…. After seeing my specialist and being prescribed ointments…. I had to change my diet completely and increase my water consumption…. To be honest I have lapses at times when I deviate from my diet and/ or have extreme stress… with prayer , meditation, therapy, diet change, basically lifestyle change has contributed to me not getting surgery….. I do pray that anyone that has the surgery I pray healing is optimal
@@chimobicalebihechukwu1476 to treat my chronic anal fissure my doctor prescribes me nifedipine 0.2%- Lidocaine 2% apply into the rectum 2x a day… I use it after the shower in the am and pm… hope that helps…
Hi everyone, for all of you suffering from this i hope you get well soon. I just want to share my experience with my fistula. Its all about diet, and fibers. If you cant stick to a healthy diet, start taking psyllium husk. I took that everyday until my fistula closed alone internally. I only have an external opening now which is super clean, they call it incomplete/blind fistula. No more leaking. Psyllium husk is the answer give it a try ❤
I had this surgery in April. I ended up in ER 3 days later. I ended up with a blockage, which then prompted an enema, which the caused an external hemorroid. The kicker? I got my bill and I was being charged for not only the fistulotomy, but a hemorrhoidectomy! I called an said I was being charged for something that I didn’t have. I got a call back and they said he did remove the hemorrhoids! I had no idea he was going to do that. He told me months earlier that would be a 2nd separate surgery. I was in pain for over a month. Finally feeling better now.
@@doctorpanigrahi9975 Hello Doctor, after having a fisurectomy surgery I developed anal stenosis…with flat stool for a long time but now I start noticing that the shape of my stool is getting thicke. My doctor told me that my fistula finally has healed.. and beacuse that area is swollen my anus is tight but with the time it will go back to normal but it will take time… is that true?
I'm having my first of what will likely be 2 fistula surgeries (according to surgeon) next Thursday. Kind of terrified, but also really sick of my ass leaking. And apparently, the incision and drainage I had in early July didn't completely get the abscess out, so I have a fistula and still have a small abscess. Also, just started the antibiotic Augmentin, and I have a suspicion that was what caused my blood clot, and eventual pulmonary embolism around New Year's last year. This has not been a fun year.
@@tedadams6339 Me neither. Quite frankly, I'm terrified. It is nice to know I'm not alone though. I hope things go well for both of us. This past year has been ridiculous for me, starting last October, losing a sister to suicide, followed by the clot and the pulmonary embolism, followed by this, pretty much right when I was over the PE stuff and feeling like I was finally 100%.
@oo0itsmaria Thank you. The good news is the fistula was superficial, so the doctor was able to do a lay open fistulotomy. I'm on day 4, post-op now. If healing goes well, I may only need the one surgery. Yesterday was kinda rough. I've been sticking to a largely liquid and soft diet, and probably will for the next week or so. Only thing that sucks is my birthday is tomorrow. Less than an ideal way to spend a birthday, but the sooner I'm over this, the better.
@@TKFOH I’m hoping that your healing continues to go well! They say the pain peaks at day 3-4. Not an ideal way to spend your birthday at all, I hate that for you! My wish for you is that this will be your final surgery, and you can live a long, happy, and HEALTHY life from here on out. Lord knows you deserve it after all you’ve suffered.❤️🩹
I'm now on my 6th day of recovery from anal fistula surgery, I have a scheduled weekly checks with my surgeon. I'm taking 2 anti biotics (2x/d and 3x/d) and one pain reliever (taken when pain is untolerable).. my diet includes more liquids, high fiber foods and taking laxative to ease with bowel movement. I can no longer feel the pain and the open wound is getting better. Also, I can now sit comfortably, the only problem is I'm still seeing discharge on my pads that looks like a pus. I read somewhere that it could be coming from the open wound which likely a liquid coat rather than a pus. I hope this heals 100% and no longer suffer with fistula again 🙏 I truly appreciate your content Dr Chang, you are not just educating but building this global community who are wanting to learn more from this illness.
@@deepanshu1456 I began to feel itchiness near the anal area around February but I just ignored it, I started to see a little pus drainage in March but still not worried as it doesn't hurt and I can leave my life normally. Only until June when I can no longer bear the pain and drainage doesnt stop so i had it checked with a surgeon and it turns out that its already a complicated case. Scheduled the surgery right a way
Hi How’re you doing right now?? Please do update on how the initial days of the dressings were too. We’ve been scheduled for a fistulectomy for my sister and she’s very anxious in regards to the pain
From my experience- days 9 & 10 after surgery are the worst for drainage but things start turning around after that. Sitting normally around 3-4 weeks. Walking normally 4 months but mine was very complicated.
I have had surgery for recto-vaginal fistulas 4 times in my life. The first 2 times ob/gyns did the surgery approaching it from the vaginal side. It held up for several years. The 3rd time a proctologist did the repair approaching it from the rectal side using a "flap" technique. That one held for about 20 years. The last one was done 4 years ago by a proctologist. He did grafting from sphincter tissue to close the fistula and build up my posterior vaginal wall. It worked very well on the vaginal side but not on the rectal side. The post-op pain was far more severe than any pain I've ever had including childbirth. I was back in the hospital 4 times after the surgery with bowel impactions. Although my surgeon said that when everything healed I would have 100% anal sphincter control and I don't. Initially it was about 40% and when I had to go I had to get to the toilet asap or I couldn't hold it. Now it's about 80%. I'm very paranoid about getting constipated or another bowel impaction so I take laxatives or stool softeners every day. Whether it's hard or soft, when stool is in the rectal canal it is still painful every time. I wish that the last surgery had been a flap procedure like the 3rd one or never had it done.
I wish you were my Dr. The Dr I have and her nurse seems to have no empathy. Maybe it's because the VA paid the bills and I now they don't pay out as much as civilian insurance and it takes up to 2 years I just found out for them to receive payment. I was sent home with no creams or any home cleaning care. I heard you say that you call up on your patients and do everything to keep pain level below a 5. I so wish to God I had you for a Dr.
My Dr had me checked once a few days in the first few weeks and he flip the wound to ensure it didn't close up from top down. The groove has to heal from bottoms up, similar to what Dr Albert had said in his other videos. My scar tissue is very fragile nowadays, often getting irritated and get slight pain or swell feeling or itch.
I had my surgery 4 weeks ago. I haven't had any major problems. I changed my diet and take stool softeners. I drink water all day. My doctor said the other day I am doing good. I can go to work in 2 more weeks.
Wow my doctor only recomme ded two weeks off after my surgery. I ended up taking a month. I had a very complex fistula and needed 5 surgeries to fix the fistula. It's been 18 months and no issues.
I am on my 2nd surgery. I'm 2 days post op. So far so good.. much more blood with this surgery but it seems to have calmed down. Using thr bathroom thr 1st time was scary

I am up in Calgary Alberta Canada. I have a wonderful very dedicated surgeon. However I’d like to get your opinion on a couple of things if you have time please. I have a very very complex horseshoe fistula I seem to be having a surgery almost every 6 to 8 weeks. My surgeon is asking me to think about and research a stoma. I know it’s a big surgery, my question is, what are your thoughts on the fistulas ultimately closing and drawing up and going away so I do not have any drainage or smell… Or the chance of recurrence of new fistula after stoma surgery. I know there’s no guarantees. I’m just wondering if there’s not much chance of it going away, I am wondering why I would do the stoma surgery I don’t have two places in my body that are painful or potentially at risk for infection and smell. Thank you in advance for your anything you can contribute to me making an informed decision. I’ve had 13 surgeries and on 21 December I’m having a minor one, But it has travelled from one side to the other and it just keeps finding new tracks. Merry Christmas to me, right! Thank you so much doctor.
Hi I've had a very complex high fistula !! There are great surgeons in Indian ( Mumbai ) people from all across the world travell , you don't have to go through so much pain . Do connect if anything
This is such a nightmare. We are all just guinea pigs. I've had holes and setons for 4 years and theres just no end in sight. Nothing reassuring about any of it. We are scarred up and hacked up and its just so sad. Our quality of life is completely minimized. How are we supposed to function in society...
Ah I hate seeing this! How are you doing now? I live in Canada, supposedly had the best colorectal surgeons around... but the surgeon to client communication has been poor. Anyway, they said 1-2 weeks should be walking around... I'm at 16 days post and I'm still in bed 80% of the day. Anyway, how are you now?? This post was 3 months ago

I know there are far worse things in life than fistulas but my butthole has got me so down. I finally worked up the courage to do something about mine (with the help of valium because my anxiety is off the charts over all this), so had a fistulotomy 6.5 weeks ago, plus a few hemmeroids banded. Minimal pain & discharge during healing but I think everything is starting to fail again. I never truly felt like my hems were improved and now this morning, blood from the fistula hole, even though it looked like it was starting to heal. Now its sore again. Idk what happened, my CRS said it would be a "really easy fix" and he seemed confident he'd be able to fix it all, because he said it was a simple (small and shallow) fistula. Now he's talking about another "easy fix" procedure (he hasnt named it but I'm guessing its a fistulectomy, more invasive & painful than a fistulotomy from what I've read). 1st post op appointment is in 5 days and go from there. Losing my mind all over again. Was slowly weaning off valium when I thought my fistula was healing but chewing more than ever now. I hate this.
@@crystalk98 sorry to hear that. Im wondering why a simple fistula is hard to eliminate with just one surgery, some doctors said having simple fistula treating it immediately is a good move because its easy to fix than complex fistula.
2nd fistulotomy with advancement flap surgery done 4 days ago, could you talk about how long it takes to have a BM after this surgery? Tell us what is normal time frame.
@@oo0itsria I’m 11 days post op and still have pain but more from the area of recto/vag wall as the dr had to clear away to healthy tissue in my case. I prepared with lots of curad non- stick 3x4 pads and 5x9 ABD pads, baby wipes and nutritious foods plus easy freezer meals. Warm baths help and motrin( only if ur doctor approves it). It will be fine but expect some pain and allow yourself to heal with prayer and rest. Best wishes to you. 💕
Update for whoever wants to know… I’m finally healed. Back in January and February I had some bleeding from the outside fistula opening. My surgeon burned the 4 cm tract that somehow didn’t heal with silver nitrate and 3 weeks later I was feeling like I’m finally healed. It’s been 6 months since the 2nd surgery and everything feels normal again and the surgeon has released me. Yay!!🎉🎉
Just got my seton placed Friday 😩 started off two months ago which what thought was hemorrhoid but was an abscess and had it drained (pain) but 3 weeks later went back and told its fistula. Now home trying get better, open wound, seton placed in and so frustrating but thankful for less pain now.
What most likely can cause chronic pruritus ani if no hemorrhoids, eczema, rash, STD, fistula, or lesions can be found? Currently trying Capsaicin 0.006% that my proctologist prescribed for me. If it doesn't do anything going to try hard to get a methylene blue procedure.
Coming up on my 12 week surgical follow up appointment (fistulotomy 9/21). At the 4 week follow-up, I was right where I was supposed to be and told it would probably be another 8 weeks or so until I was good. The week before Thanksgiving, my ass sweat after workouts was normal, so I figured I was almost out of the woods. Then the day after woke up to drainage, not blood and pus, but basically sweat or clear, watery mucus from the fistula site. I've had that every night since, and it has me somewhat concerned. Also, I have IBS and 3-4 BM's per day and it feels like 1, maybe 2 a week can be a bit rough. Had a rough one 2 days ago, followed by blood yesterday. No pain, just blood. Hoping all this is normal, but I will find out next week. I hope so anyway.
@cristianfigueroa1959 Thanks for asking. I'm a bit confused after yesterday. It's been about 12 weeks now. Had my follow-up and they said it looks completely healed and they don't see evidence of fistula. However, I still get the overnight leakage from that site. They seemed confused by this, like it was impossible, and it's just sweat and would be impossible for me to know that it's coming from that site specifically. But I've been very in tune with my ass the past few months. It's not regular ass sweat. Idk if it's minor incontinence or what. It's not blood, it's not pus, and I don't believe it's feces because it doesn't smell. But, it's not regular ass sweat and is very localized. I know this because I've been monitoring my ass sweat closely as I've eased back into my workout routine. I would really like to know what is causing it and how to address it, but instead I'm being dismissed as fully healed. I know I didn't have this problem pre-fistula. I may seek a 2nd opinion. I am however, thrilled that I dont need another surgery. I would be more thrilled if my ass simply stopped leaking.
@TKFOH No problem, man that sounds pretty annoying to have to deal with! I have heard on some reddit threads that some people seen very minor drainage (like a small dot worth) up to 6 months post-op so that may be what you're dealing with here & hopefully it will just stop draining on its own very soon. I'm only 2 weeks post-op from a simple fistulotomy and my drainage has slowed down significantly but when I wake up in the mornings and check the pad there is still small amounts, I'm hoping I'm fully healed within the next 2-3 weeks. This type of surgery sucks & it's hard for others to understand how mentally draining it can be on a person at times. Wishing you all the best and I think the draining will one day just stop on its own! Glad to here that you are technically fully healed though and don't need additional surgery that's the main objective and you did it.
@cristianfigueroa1959 Thanks fellow bad ass! Lol. I've read what are probably some of the same threads and hopefully that's what it is. That's definitely the worst part. I expected a lot more pain, but aside from maybe days 3 and 4 post op, pain has been pretty mild. I'd say once a week I have a BM that's "less than pleasant", but otherwise recovery hasn't been that bad. Hope yours continues to go well. I'd say I didn't see any pus or blood drainage after about 2 weeks.
4 days post op. I'm having more bleeding, bloating and it feels like I have an object in my rectum like a stick would feel poking you with a firmness or a harsh pinch..not unbearable pain, just constant. Doc wasn't sure it was a fistula though and said he'd biopsy if whatever it was looked suspicious. They did a biopsy, but doc never said what he actually found...fistulotomy was what surgery was called. Don't see until 20th from 7th being date of surgery. The blood and pinch inside as well bloating is concerning me.

What do you recommend if you feel like your ceton drains are digging into your skin and causing more pain than the actual fistula? The cetons are still needed bc there is still drainage, but are becoming painful. The last time I told my surgeon, he said there was nothing he could do.
Keep moving the seaton slightly after every bowel movement. Initially it’ll be difficult and tight. It’ll loosen after a while. The seaton knot is what digs into the skin. After a while you’ll find a comfortable position to keep the knot so as to minimize the pain. I think it’ll happen naturally. All the best with your recovery.

I had a check up about a week ago with my doctor. He said it felt boggy, but he didn’t feel an abscess.
Yes. I had fistula that size and my body was trying to drain it. Then eventually 4-5 months later it surfaced and has been draining for about 7 weeks and now they’re finally doing my surgery tomorrow. I am so angry with how doctors simply don’t thoroughly look because I told them about my golf sized bump in my left butt cheek and they said just wait till it surfaces. I have a fistula for about a year and a half, seems like every six months or so it’s surfaces on my buttocks very painful until it breaks, so far I have had three episodes, went back to my surgeon and because of that part he said it’s not the best time to do it because the canal is closed so he’s recommending next time I get the infection on my buttocks that’s the time he wants to be able to go and pop it drain it and put a drain in it, then he says in about two months he will do a second part which should be going into the colon and fixing it because he will be able to see where it is, I’m probably going to go through it because it did come back three times and he said your first time it is a 20 minute procedure and on the second time it’s may be a half hour I feel I’m at the point now I have to get it done but
Please do not delay surgery.. if it keeps occurring you'll end up with multiple tracks of fistula getting more complicated. Then it will be very difficult to identify and fix. Please get a second opinion asap
@@shariffsaba6 I really appreciate your feedback on the issue, my surgeon says that the track should be open for him to be able to see it, in between episodes I still feel a little soreness from the womb on the outside, are you saying that the surgery can’t be done with officially closed as it is both still ready and there’s no liquid coming out? Again, thank you for your advice and maybe I should go and get a second opinion
@@larrydemonte2218 I'm sharing from experience :) I've had multiple episodes of wound breaking and healing. I delayed my surgery due to some personal reasons. However when I rechecked after 6 months, there was another opening due to another branch formation.. I’m on antibiotics and I’m going to see the surgeon on Wednesday. I guess we’ll have to just wait to see if it comes back again in order to do the procedure one more time.
I just had a Anal fistula surgery last week Tuesday 16th but i seems to be seeing liquid from the wound and sometimes blood is it normal most especially the blood
I did mine a week ago, and there is liquid I see coming out on the Gaza. I've seen once a stain of blood, but it was really a small drop. I read about both of these, and it seems to be reasonable. I had surgery 1,5 month ago. Anal fissure and fistula. This morning stool came out of the wound. Everything went so well up to this point. What does that mean?
@@logical-reasoning My surgeon told me, it probably wasn't stool, just drainage, that looked like stool, because of the bacteria. This made sense, because the smell wasn't like stool. So far, everything looks fine. I had laser surgery, in Germany healthcare is different. My fistula was so wide, the surgeon couldn't do it with laser alone and also used the conservative method
@@LupiFem Don't ignore your wound after healing. Wash the whole area at least five times a day. Believe me you won't get any problem like Perianal abscess, Haemorrhoids or Fistula ever in your life again.
no, after the surgery there are home medications and they require food before being taken. Just pick high-fiber foods in your diet and take laxative if needed to soften your feces which helps ease your bowel movement.
@@cys9901Dr Chung himself will tell you to avoid high fiber for a week or two after surgery and do a low residue/low fiber diet, then slowly begin reintroducing your previous diet after that.

Tell me why I needed this video two months ago! I went through all the items as exactly described to the T!!! I’m so mad now, but grateful I’m on track to recovery. I had to fight and plead for an exam under anesthesia because my fistula was hurting (10/10 pain scale), I was forming another abscess, I had bad skin induration that didn’t seem to improve over three months, I walked with a limp, and the amount of pus and drainage was constant 24/7. I always took pictures as evidence and sent to my doctors office. I said this was enough and demanded an exam under anesthesia. They cleaned the wound internally and finally one week later over 50% (I’d say 80-90%) feeling better. Skin induration rapidly decreased, swelling went down, walking limp went away, most importantly I could sit for the first time I 6 months without a (bed) pillow (not a donut). Makes me wonder now actually if my entyvio medication in fact still works because starting tomorrow I will be starting skyrizi. They did find evidence of inflammation in my anal canal (new to me). I was prescribed cipro, flagyl, prednisone, oxycodone, celobix. So many meds. I lost 40 pounds I was terrified of pooping pain it was just too much! P.S. I’ve had ileum resection; Crohn’s for now 16 years.
@@yourfriendlyproctologist Dr. Chung, It’s been about 10 days since the cleaning of my abscess. I had an exam under anesthesia due to suspected abscess, but it wasn’t and they cleaned the inside of a cavity I had following the original drainage of an abscess from months ago. I am suspecting fecal matter to get stuck in this small open cavity during bowel movements. Is that’s what causing my anal fissures/ulcer. I’m scared I’m bugging my doctor too much since my situation just doesn’t improve.

I had fistula surgery but boy it did give me the the worst cramps and spasms in my whole body for the whole recovery period? It sure did! I had breathing problems The blood wasn't even flowing properly in my body bcuz of spasms as well My woound took almost 6 months to heal and for me to actually sit....... The doctor didn't do shit for me when i addressed my muscle pain n spasms I even got really bad fissure bcuz of my muscles not working and being so tight and i still suffer so bad from it and he kept tellin me just to take laxitives and fiber supplement which kinda f'd up my colon.... It was the worst period in my life My depression and suicidal thoughts were really bad bcuz of it as well
Doctor iam 23 years old before one and half months After vaginal delivery, anus and anal sphincter is seen to be tight. This causes pain during bowel movemens and anal fissure. What is the solution for this? What should be done to bring it back to its previous condition? What is the reason for tight anus? Doctors sayings "the reason is western toilet and if we are trying to control our bowel movement for longer because of the fear of episiotomy stitches .is it true doctor??
Doctor, is it true that while the wound is healing or when you have a fistula one can have anal stricture? And once the wound healed it could go back to normal? This is stressful..
To all who had the surgery please don’t take too many painkillers as it causes constipation

Hi everyone, for all of you suffering from this i hope you get well soon. I just want to share my experience with my fistula. Its all about diet, and fibers. If you cant stick to a healthy diet, start taking psyllium husk. I took that everyday until my fistula closed alone internally. How are you now? So sorry you had to go through that!
I'm experiencing the same thing. Not looking forward to surgery.
I’m suffering with you, you are not alone. I hope things get better for you.❤ And I’m so sorry for your loss.
I'd love to know what the actual, real percentage of 100% successful fistula surgery is.
I just had the surgery a year ago November... FIBER IS. THE KEY TOO HEALING.
How long did the pain lasted? How severe was it?
I hope this heals 100% and no longer suffer with fistula again 🙏

One of the most painful things ive ever gone thru ! Felt like 2 incredible Hulks was tearing my ass cheeks apart !!
Brohhh 😂😂😂
Why laughing dude , he is true 😢😢😢
Which type of surgery you had? Was it seton placement
May God bless you and u get rid of the pain.😊
Sending positive vibes ✨️

My Dr had me checked once a few days in the first few weeks and he flip the wound to ensure it didn't close up from top down.

Wishing you the best! Please let us know what happens! Just had an advanced flap fistulotomy on Friday myself!
Are you okay now? Hope you're doing well!
Hemorrhoid. Fistula. I've had/have both. Both caused by my then current (massive) 'friend' taking care of me every night.😮
I had my surgery 3 weeks ago...so glad I had mine surgically removed.
I lost like 30 pounds when I was sick....I didn't want to eat and have to go to the restroom.
I’ve lost 20 pounds myself and scheduled for surgery 9 days from now. How was the recovery process after surgery ?
My fistula has not healed up 8 weeks after surgery. Stll continuing with antibiotics. Is it ok

My follow up is 8 weeks ,just had surgery 3 days ago..... im in canada .....
Hi Dr I’ve had a seton in for over a year and it still drains a LOT of liquid and sometimes puss, it’s also pretty hard around the area the seton comes out I’m tired of living like this im a 24 yo male and it’s exhausting having to just use the bathroom any ideas
What do you recommend if you feel like your ceton drains are digging into your skin and causing more pain than the actual fistula? The cetons are still needed bc there is still drainage, but are becoming painful. The last time I told my surgeon, he said there was nothing he could do.
*seton
The seton feel worst than the fistula indeed
Keep moving the seaton slightly after every bowel movement. Initially it’ll be difficult and tight. It’ll loosen after a while. The seaton knot is what digs into the skin. After a while you’ll find a comfortable position to keep the knot so as to minimize the pain. I think it’ll happen naturally. All the best with your recovery.

I have a permanent fistula after a severe forklift crush accident last year that severed my anus causing me to have the fistula and colostomy bag out my stomach. The issue I'm having is bloody mucus drainage throughout the day with bowl movements or not. Was told this normal as the body has all this waste and is usually collected by the feces but because the rectal tube is still there but is not being used due to the bypass of the colon. I would like to know what other options could work such as rectal tube removal or what to look out for? This was a work accident and is insured through workers comp and wonder if certain options wouldn't be on the table due to keeping cost low rather then having personal insurance or available funds. Thank you
Can a constipation be only the reason for not recovering soon and having a lot pain ???

Almost 8 weeks ago i had undergone anal fistula surgery and every week there is a seton change procedure. Surgeries and procedures are almost painless due to anaesthesia but there after it is so painful.
I don't know till now whether my wound is healing or not. I am still in the same intensity of discomfort. Taking warm water sitz bath theice a day. But wound is not healing. Taking linezoid as antibiotic.

I had an rectoanal abscess the size of a golf ball a month and a half ago. I recently started feeling so much pressure in my left butt cheek (same side the abscess was on) that it is causing so much pain. Has anyone else had this happen? I had a check up about a week ago with my doctor. He said it felt boggy, but he didn’t feel an abscess.
Yes. I had fistula that size and my body was trying to drain it. Then eventually 4-5 months later it surfaced and has been draining for about 7 weeks and now they’re finally doing my surgery tomorrow. I am so angry with how doctors simply don’t thoroughly look because I told them about my golf sized bump in my left butt cheek and they said just wait till it surfaces. Ughhhhh keep bothering them until you have a solution
Me! Size of golf ball was surgically removed 3 mo ago. I see specialist in 2 days. The hole is like a nostril and pain is getting worse and new bumps. Sitting in the tub I think helps the most. I am trying to change my diet and seeking advice from a natural medicine Dr. Waiting for blood tests to see what I need to change in diet.
Update: On December 31st, I went to the ER and discovered that the abscess had returned about double the size. I had surgery on it again on January 1st. I still have a small hole from the drain site. As of now, everything is doing better. Praying that the abscess won’t come back again!
Mine closed after I started drinking liquor one day and the skin burst open

Is better to surgery if u suffer haemorrhoid?
I just had a surgery done today, I would highly recommend it depending on the pain level and severity of the problem. I feel so much better even though I just got it done this morning
I developed so many problems from getting the hemorrhoidectomy and if I could go back I would never ever have done it.
Reoccurring same abcess after 1st surgery done 3 months ago
I have a fistula for about a year and a half, seems like every six months or so it’s surfaces on my buttocks very painful until it breaks, so far I have had three episodes, went back to my surgeon and because of that part he said it’s not the best time to do it because the canal is closed so he’s recommending next time I get the infection on my buttocks that’s the time he wants to be able to go and pop it drain it and put a drain in it, then he says in about two months he will do a second part which should be going into the colon and fixing it because he will be able to see where it is, I’m probably going to go through it because it did come back three times and he said your first time it is a 20 minute procedure and on the second time it’s may be a half hour I feel I’m at the point now I have to get it done but
Get a second opinion, I think.
My doctor said that even though it appears on the outside that the wound has healed but on the inside the tract is still there and early action is must to avoid complications. My doctor got an MRI and TRUS scan done for me to understand the tracts better and finally i got it operated just a week back.. 🙂
After six months, I had a recurrence of my fistula, my surgeon was on vacation so he said to go to the emergency room, and they drain it, worst mistake, no anesthesia, she pop it with a knife, and it was the most painful experience in my life, especially when she went to pack it,, after two days the packing came out and now it seems of closed.
I am seeing my doctor every few days to ensure that my healing process progress as needed (knock on wood 🪵🪵🪵)
I had surgery 1,5 month ago. Anal fissure and fistula. This morning stool came out of the wound. Everything went so well up to this point. What does that mean?
Sorry dear but you have a fistula and you will need another surgery 😢
Go for laser surgery if you can afford as it is expensive.
@@LupiFem Okay. Wish you all the best.

Is it worth fasting after surgery to allow the area to heal? Maybe by taking protein shakes or reducing to one meal per day or fasting outright?
no, after the surgery there are home medications and they require food before being taken.

The itch im feeling around my anus is not out of this world.feel like i can remove the anus completely. My surgeon put in seton in there, sometimes its scratching me too and the right side where the fistula is doesnt pain at all but the left side hey, never been good from day one
My goodness
Ugh. I know what you are referring to. Awful what you went through.
@@yourfriendlyproctologist Dr. Chung,
It’s been about 10 days since the cleaning of my abscess.
Wish i could share my wound. 8 weeks they said for follow up wtf uk hey
