It is not. Wait for the earnings call jan-27. Earnings will be about $2.1 per share bringing the P/E which looking like 1.8k rn to ~ 400. This year giga Berlin comes online, giga Shanghai is scaling and giga Texas will also come online. Thus safe to say sales will be at least 1.5 million cars so earnings should triple, however do not forget that the new production process being employed at giga Shanghai and to be applied in Berlin has allowed Tesla to achieve a 31% margin --> so earnings will quadruple bringing the P/E at the end of 2021 to ~ 100. Off this is all assuming price will remain constant.
Moral of the story - if u value this company on a 5 to 10 years horizon, it is not very expensive but is definitely approaching fair value

@@kbisht3680 Tesla's current valuation is bigger than that of the next 10 largest automanufacturers combined. Yet it comes nowhere close in terms of sales or profitability. This leads one to conclude that investors are assuming Tesla will not only have a near monopoly on the car industry in the future, it will also replace Uber and compete with insurers using self driving car data. It is very hard to say with certainty if Tesla will be able to do all of those things. Tesla fanboys think Tesla is the only comepetent company and that other corporations are just lazy and dont strive to innovate. The reality is way different. Tesla is a tulip right now and it certainly will exist and be profitable but it is totally inappropriate to assume it will dominate several industries as of right now, which it would have to do in order to justify the current market capitalization.
