The politicians play games with the consumers and then they blame drought conditions after the reservoirs were overflowing from the prior year (but they intentionally let all that water out to sea). Their excuse to make people cut back water usage and increase water bills. It's really quite sickening.

Well, Washington must change its funding prorities completely. Instead funding endless wars and military bases for trillions of dollars, the government should investing the funds into infrastructure. They can afford to, but both sides of politics choose to place its priorities into military build up. The US empire like its infracture is slowly collapsing. A feel for US citizens who deal with this.

It’s not only the telecommunications and infrastructure that is setting the gold standard, it’s the security and stability that is prized there. Korea may have a similar level of technology and infrastructure, but their housing is really suffering due to red tape and regulations. Many of their own people can’t afford to buy a 40 square meter flat.

@@ChrisHereTodayEven in Hong Kong the government doesn’t prioritise the well being of their own people, their public housing authority’s priorities are out of whack, as single people can’t get safe and hygienic housing, since the subdivided flats are often plagued with environmental hygiene issues like questionable neighbours and crumbling buildings.

Terrifying - that successive US governments at state and federal levels seem to have abrogated their responsibility to the American people - by not committing to doing what’s right by the American people and improving infrastructure and services.

We if are candid about it we would agree China government seems to have more money or if you like more freedom to allocate funds for the national infrastructure than the US. This is because China states in advance what it wants to do in 5 or 10 years ahead and they execute it as planned. The US local governments and the Federal government all seem to be short of money to the point that the US runs a deficit each year and has to borrow to the tune of almost $2 trillion annually to get by. Yet US has a bigger GDP and is definite a country richer than China.
The problem appears that the US's wealth seems to be in the hand a small number of extremely rich people leaving government poor like a church mouse. This is perfectly normal for a democracy, that puts individual's rights before the community, after a few decades as the rich gets richer while the poor gets poorer. The small minority of smart/clever people by default and after given a bit of time will be able to amass more and more wealth at the expense of the poor majority. It is totally legal under the democracy and there is nothing we can do about it. Like the current LA wildfires made worse due to the shortage of water when one billionaire family has access of more water for his farms than all the LA residents put together.
China is the second biggest economy. It is not a western democracy but a socialist country with Chinese characteristics which puts the community's interest or rights before the individuals. As such the public infrastructure like the roads, bridges, high speed rails and metro systems receive more attention and more funds than the west. After a decades or two China will be significantly different to the west.
US cannot change or even modify itself to follow what China has done because it believes in the label and not its contents. US is labelled as a democracy and China's label is communism. Every American has been taught in school that democracy is good and communism is evil. China is far less rigid. As China's priority is the community so whatever can improve the lives of the people brings out a better community so China has no hang up in select whatever tools available to improve the country.
