You can apparently do this using the on-board macro system, relieving the need for AHK:
Set keyboard to any profile other than 1 (e.g. Press Fn + Shift + 2)
Press Fn + Alt + Tab for 3 seconds (enters macro setup mode) → Press R.Alt (choose key to macro) → Press Fn + J (the Fn left arrow key) → Press Fn + Alt (to confirm) → Press Fn + Alt + Tab for 1 second to return to your profile.
This should set the Right Alt key to use the Left Arrow action. Repeat this for the other 3 keys. This also frees up the ability to use combinations of modifiers with the arrow keys (e.g. Ctrl + Alt + Arrow).
This macro system is a life saver for me after I started using the Dvorak keyboard layout. I can set shortcuts to where they used to be on a QWERTY layout. For example, I switched my Fn key to Caps Lock then use Caps + C for Copy and Caps + V for paste (instead of Ctrl + C). This lets me keep using my preferred keyboard layout while not having to change my shortcuts too much. The best part about all of this is that he macros stay the same regardless of what computer I plug this into. I love this keyboard so much.

Just a heads up for those with the newer version of the Ducky One 2 Mini. The DIP switches work like the Ducky SF now. Leave all DIP switches to the OFF position and follow these instructions.
Hold Fn+Alt+K for 5 seconds.
This will light up the keys that can be swapped in different colors.
Now you have to press the two keys you want to change positions, at the same time.
Without taking off your keycaps, the order would be Fn and Alt at the same time, then Fn and Windows key at the same time. Now take your keycaps off and arrange them like this video (Fn/Alt/Winodws/Ctrl). The rest of the video is still accurate.

And let me just say that I love your videos period but this one man, this one is probably the most useful video I've seen all year. No way could I have figured out how to make that work on my own so thank you so much for taking the time and effort to figure this out and then put out content on it. Love it, love it, love it!

Good vid. I encountered 2 issues because I have a different version. DKON2061ST.
To switch right fn, altgr (or alt), ctrl:
1. Set off all DIP-Switches (default)
2. Press FN + Alt + K for 5 seconds
4. Hold Indigo/FN then press Green/R-Alt, to switch their position
5. Hold Green/R-Alt then press Blue/R-Win
6. Now the arrangement should be FN > R-Alt > R-Win > R-Ctrl. Press ESC to finish switching (and put back the keycaps)
My second issue was that i have altgr on the right instead of alt. So in the script you need to change "LALT" to "LControl & RAlt" (this is what the keyboard recognises as altgr)

Thank you for this video. I had a KB paradise before that had this functionality built in with the Dip switch. Love ducky quality, but you never realize how important those arrow keys are until you can't use them.

That's a great idea! The Ducky One 2 Mini also has built in macro key profiles so you could use that to set this up and not have to use an AHK script at all
I have to dig into whether or not you can still retain shift key functionality though... losing right shift is a deal breaker for me.
@@badseedtech Good point, with the built in macros the macro key will always map to the key you set it to when you are on that macro profile. So in order to use the "arrow keys" and the right shift you would need to switch back and forth between your macro profile and default profile
ive tried to setup the arrow keys with the macro profiles and cant work it out
For anyone struggling to get this to work like I was- just use the macro record function on your ducky instead of the Auto Hot Key Loader program. You do it once, it saves directly to your board instead of your OS, and you never have to run a third party program. The macro record process is this:
Hold Fn + Alt + Tab for 3 seconds to get into macro record mode > hit the key you want to replace with a macro > press the windows shortcut for arrows to replace that key with an arrow > hit Fn + Alt to save > hit Fn + Alt + Tab a final time to exit out.
The windows shortcut for arrow keys are this:
*Fn + I is arrow up, Fn + L is arrow right, Fn + K is arrow down, Fn + J is arrow left*
So you're gonna want to replace Right Shift, Right Ctrl, Right Win, and Right Alt with Arrow Up, Right, Down, and Left respectively.
Ex:
1) Hold Fn + Alt + Tab for 3 seconds (Caps lock will light up to signify macro record mode).
2) Hit the Right Shift key once (Right Shift will light up to signify you're repacing it with a macro).
3) Press Fn + I (This is the keyboard shortcut for arrow up)
4) Press Fn + Alt to save
5) Press Fn + Alt + Tab to exit out
Your Right Shift will now be replaced with Arrow Up.
Now just follow that same process using the keyboard shortcuts Fn + L (right arrow), Fn + K (down arrow), and Fn + J (left arrow) while in macro record mode for Right Ctrl, Right Win, and Right Alt respectively.

You CAN normally remap the function key in ducky keyboard:
Press Fn + Alt + K for 5 seconds.
Set new Function key for your keyboard.
Simple as that.
Rest of the part is just recording macro for your new arrow keys.
If you have AltGr instead of Alt on your right side change RAlt to LControl & RAlt instead to get it to work.
Could you do a review of the 60% mass drop alt keyboard. I haven’t found many great reviews on it yet and you seem to be one of if not the most informative reviewers out there. If you could it would be very much appreciated!

Okay so i've been using this trick for a good 1 month. It works perfectly. I'm not a coder/programmer, basically just a layman that follow instruction by instruction. Used the dip switch to switch the FN keys and ALT keys just as instructed in the video. However, there is only 1 issue about this workaround - it's not permanent.
I shut down my computer every night after use, and turn it on when i'm back home after work. Basically i'll have to double click on the 'ducky arrow key' file to activate it every single time i shut down and switch on my PC.
I left the file in an easily accessible location so i can double click it easily every time. As simple as it sounds, it does become quite a huge chore to do it every single day. At this point of time, i'd much rather have the One 2 SF. Only issue is that i've bought quite alot of Ducky standard keycaps, which doesn't fit all of SF's key.

So shift AND RAlt (which now also works for AltGr Users) only works as cursor keys when tapping, but can be used for key combos. On AltGr layouts this it is needed for special chars like {[]}\ which cant be made with LAlt

Just got me my first Ducky One 2 Mini and this helped me a lot! I really like the mini but the I really wanted the arrow keys. I was going to go for the SF but I really did not want the the non-standard keycaps. I have watched a few of your videos and love your content!

Okay I found a fix. You need to put ‘LCtrl & RAlt’ in the code instead of just RAlt and also make sure you’re using the United States Extended Keyboard for your arrow keys to work. I hope this fixes your problems. 👍

I just had to like and subscribe after watching this video.. you just changed my ducky experience life~~
I remapped left alt to function and put all of the arrow keys on the function row on WASD as a gamer this was the perfect fix for me
Works great, thanks :) One more thing, since I have the AltGr on my right side, which now works as my 'left' key, how do I get back the AltGr functionality without ending the script?
So I did it to a T and my function became left, I have no down, and the control and up work. What the heck did I do wrong? Is my dipswitch broken?

I don't think you can do it in BIOS
The name for altgr is "LControl & RAlt".
This fix kind of works but it will send left arrow whenever you're trying to type @ or £.
My fix for this was to replace "LControl & RAlt::Send {LEFT}" with:
LControl & ~RAlt Up::
If (A_PriorKey = "RAlt") {
Send, {LEFT}
}
This uses the same method the original script used for regaining the right shift functionality
this is immensely clutch. I was using the ap2, caps lock as a modifier using wasd as the arrows, it was super convenient. I don't know if that can be done on the duckyone2m, but this method is definitely the next best thing.
I've had a couple people ask for the arrow keys on WASD but that script is a little more involved. I may have to offer a community bounty over at AHK forums to get that done.

I just did this with the built in keyboard macros. Swap the FN key over to the left side of the board, then you can set the 4 bottom right keys to the arrows
As someone else brought out you can reporgram this from the keyboard without needed to use the autohotkey thing. Just set it to a profile built in. Edit: nvm, because they won't have the dual function, still alright if you get used to using left shift and clusters

I tried this with the mini mecha which has AltGr rather then RAlt when i use the program the Alt key doesnt work but the rest does, anyone know how to fix this?

I've just done this, but for some reason, the script stops working randomly, even though I did exactly what you did and I also copy-pasted the exact thing for notepad about four times now. And also when I hold al four keys it keeps on opening the office app, so I uninstalled it, but it keeps opening the office WEBSITE on chrome. How do I fix this??
Thanks, this inspired me to write code for my pok3r:) With the LWIN+space+RALT dip switch 3 and some AHK magic, I now have arrows on FN,PN, CNTRL and shift with hold function!
Any chance of getting the code? Not having a shift key is a killer for this for selection, editing, etc.

Up & Right are working, but not Down and Left. Followed the video exactly. Turned 1 off and on, unplugged and plugged back in. Restarted pc. Not sure what the issue is? Any help would be appreciated!
Followed the instructions but didn't work for me. Moved the first dip switch to "on" position but FN key didn't move so obviously Alt and Windows key didn't move either. Moved dip switch back to "off".
Then found that I can move the position of FN by holding down FN and Alt and K for 5 seconds. There's a short youtube clip showing you how to do it in this manner. After configuring the position of the switches, downloading and installing the software and script, everything worked except the down arrow key which is mapped to the Windows key. I'll continue to play around with it and see if I can figure out why the down arrow isn't working.

There is no need to use Autohotkey at all. Just use the Duckys Macro function. Use the dip switches to arrange the Fn key to the very left, just as shown in the video. Then choose another profile than number 1 (number one is the factory standard and can't be messed with). That is done by pressing Fn+alt and then hitting 2 for example. From there you will just use the Duckyz Macro functions as explained in the manual and record Fn+J,K,L,I to the right Shift, alt, win, and ctrl. key. Done. Now you can always just switch between profile 1 and 2 on your board to enable arrow keys or get back into standard layout. Cheers

Hi I have a danish(nordic) keyboard layout. this works as the shift as up arrow and the right Ctrl as right arrow but the other arrow keys dont work any suggestions on how to fix, Plus FN key left of board and windows key on the right of the board and right alt are disabled is it possibble to fix?

This was a great tutorial, however the only issue I am having is that I can't long press the up arrow but can long press the down arrow. Any tips? I have already unplugged and replugged the keyboard in.

Why did you do that when the ducky one 2 already has arrow keys on the IJKL keys, furthermore all you had to do was set a macro profile so that pressing shift is [fn + i] (Arrow UP) and pressing rALT is [fn + j] (Arrow Left) and so on, then save this macro profile on slot 2 so anytime you need to make use of your at the bottom of your keyboard you can simple switch profiles instantly then switch back to standard profile 1 to carry on with normal keyboard use. And all this is saved on the keyboard so no need to mess around with files startup programs, it even works if you take your keyboard to your buddys no need to mess around with his computer to get the functions you want. But nonetheless this was a high quality professional video it was clear, consise and on point.

This can be done with the ducky macros too. That's how I did it, just yesterday in fact. TH-cam suggested the video a day too late.
So i got the "norwegian" layout, and the windows key keeps its FN function, and ALT becomes Down, while CTRL becomes Right. Shift goes Up as it should. Any fix for this?

yo bro i got u ! i did a lil testing and all i did was turn off switch 1, unplug my keyboard, and switched switch 1 on before plugging it in and BOOM works like it should!
