Let's be honest though, most in attendance are still Steelers fans. The cheers for Pittsburgh are still just as loud as those for the Chargers. Definitely some Chargers fans there, but it's not anything like a game at Qualcomm.

I’m back into watching it myself after a little bit of a hiatus, although I hate that they added a 17th game for everyone, I thought the number of games played was fine the way it was, and I HATE that running backs, receivers, and defensive players can now wear single digit numbers, I know that bothers me a lot more than it really should, but it just looks so weird compared to what I’m used to, like I’m watching a college game.

@@Elguapodelfuego The Chargers were down 23-7 when Rivers stormed back to win in Pittsburgh in that 2018 game, 33-30 - and that was the year the Chargers finished 12-4 - which still wasn't good enough to win the division and they had to go on the road to beat Baltimore in the wild card playoffs in Lamar Jackson's first playoff game - but the Chargers then got pounded by the Patriots in the divisional round - and the Patriots in turn beat the Chiefs for the AFC title in OT and went onto win their last Super Bowl with Brady.
But the Chargers actually met the Steelers on Sunday night in October 2019, with Pittsburgh jumping out to a 24-0 lead and holding on to win, 24-17. Before tonight - It had been more than two years since the NFL allowed the Chargers to be on Sunday Night Football. The odd thing is many of the Chargers' appearances on Sunday night - have been against the Steelers. Don't know why that is but that's the matchup that the NFL keeps calling when the Bolts do appear on NBC. Their 2018 appearance was "flexed" in while their 2019 appearance was "as-is" but that season the Chargers tanked and they were flexed out of a second Sunday night game against the Vikings. It's terrible to be a Charger fan and have a memory for these things.

The Steelers’ drive was atrocious. Not a single running play and the offensive line couldn’t protect Big Ben. Just a twilight zone
The Steeler last series was an embarrassment. It’s as if they spent everything on tying the game then ran out the gas on both sides of the ball. The Chargers just blew them up.

Gotta have faith in my Chargers, they’ve started playing for all 60 minutes finally. TT has hit big on some of his recent draft picks - extend Mike, get another O-lineman and super fast WR in this next draft and beef for D-line
I think 81 is gone. I also think we can do better. Josh Palmer can grow into 81’s role. We need an Edelman Kupp type of player who’s always open. Just my opinion. Totally agree on the need for o lineman.

This game was fantastic. I was nervous in the beginning with all the steeler fans, but they were nice and my experience was great. What an amazing experience. Can't wait to go see the bolts at this stadium again.

This game was good but not the browns and chargers game…that game was just back and forth
I was at Levi stadium at its inaugural season… Rivers went up there with the Bolts. It was a Win-and-You’re-In scenario.
By late 3rd quarter Chargers were down 24-7… I would say 98% of fans were Niner fans. My friends were talking so much trash. In my area there were only 2 Chargers fans.
4th quarter was a thing of beauty. Rivers led the team down TD drive after TD drive. Defense made key stops.
Finally it was 21-24 & Rivers had a 4th & 20 on the 50 yard line. Rivers passed it away from the safety so only our WR had a chance (I want to say Royal) where the WR had to stretch to catch it. I literally said first down & stood up BEFORE Rivers even threw it. Somehow we caught it… next thing you know we go and score & win the game.
It was so amazing wearing an UGLY CHRISTMAS CHARGERS SWEATER hearing all the niner fans talk trash on my way out the stadium. A thing of beauty.

Despite the 94 playoff win, the Steelers have ALWAYS been our bugaboo. This was a good win but the Bolts remain the only team I worry about giving up MULTIPLE scores to lose a lead...
Steelers get bopped in the first half so I stopped watching. Check in a while later and see steelers winning 37-34. Screaming internally, I turn the game back on and as soon as i start watching again the steelers immediately choke and get bopped yet again. Whyyyyyyyy

I always say do what works great for you. Ekeler is an amazing all purpose back but imagine having a RB that will get you 1,000 yards a year. A complete running game with already a young stud in herbert and his passing abilities. Geez that would be special..until that happens. Do what you do best throw the day ball. It still amazes me how many opposing fans their are. The Charges have always had that problem
cuz no one wants to vacation in KC, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, etc. Warm weather teams usually have fan bases that have 10,000 things to do in those cities. People from the Midwest and East Coast of course come to us in So Cal, not one person from So Cal wants to go to Pennsylvania or Wisconsin, especially in the winter. lol

Wasn’t nearly as bad until they left San Diego. It was still an issue before because so many people have left the horrible cold weather cities in the east and moved to San Diego but remained fans of where they left. Who moves from San Diego to Pittsburg?
Chargers had about 3-4 game of the years. The last one against the Raiders, the Browns game, the 2nd Chiefs game....
As a Chargers fan, we know whaa it felt like not being a good as now when we had Philip Nd that o line I’m glad wha it has change too, Chargers fans have came a long way for times like these
I'm a chargers fan, Go Bolts!! The chargers should have won by more then 4 points. I've been a fan for a long time and this type of game is the norm for the bolts. They can never run away from teams. I'm glad we won but if they want to make the playoffs and beat teams like the chiefs and the patriots then there defense has to step up. We are half way through the season so we will see. I'm glad I watched the last four minutes.
The Steelers played as well as they can, given their numerous injuries and inconsistent line play. The back ups played hard; they just didn’t play well enough. Without key players on defense, especially Watt, Tuit, Fitzpatrick, and Hayden, the Steelers couldn’t stop the run or the pass consistently. That places a heavy burden on the offense to outscore opponents, week after week. That is not a formula for success. But even when all of the Steelers are healthy, this is, at best, a mediocre team, as I wrote at the beginning of the season.
Though fans and the media are giving Ben and his receivers deserved credit for the gritty come back attempt, the truth is that Ben’s arm isn’t what it once was. He leaves balls short and tends to throw late or behind receivers, even when he has decent protection. He certainly can’t be expected to carry the team at his age, and that means the rest of the 2021 season looks rocky indeed.

Well this season is a bust 5 - 4 - 1 and you have a tough 7 week stretch and you have win at least 5 for me to even consider the playoffs. If we just had Joe Haden or Minkah Fitz. I hope my Steelers can play like they did tonight and consistently play like that.
Feel bad for the Steeler’s defense. They did what they could this season and the offense failed them. Add in the injuries and yeah, this season is a bust for them.
Haden has been just average this year. Micah hasn't had a pick in 15 games. Wouldn't have made a difference.

Several times chargers were just wide open with no one around them, I don’t think that would have happened with those two. But hey, it’s a part of the game wish the backups woulda stepped up better
@@Dick_Z_Normas Honestly, at this point, the threat of Minkah might be more effective than Minkah himself. Which is not to knock on him-he’s still fantastic and one of the best DBs in the league. He just doesn’t necessarily NEED to make the huge plays, the threat of him doing so is enough to scare quarterbacks and stuff
