Ren was misdiagnosed for many years with Bipolar Disorder and Chronic Fatigue. Doctors told him his problems were all psychological and treated him with meds that just made him worse. He could barely eat and could not function, staying in bed most of the time. He was not sure he'd survive. He was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease, which had caused brain damage and damage to his immune system by that point. So - he has a lot to say about our medical system, as well as the music industry - he had been signed by Sony at 17, but was dropped when he became ill.
Gotta remember that his initial diagnosis & treatments in the UK (before they knew it was Lyme's Disease) were on the NHS, so it cost him nothing, I'm guessing. Don't know if that makes it better or worse...

Hi Ren was performed live. They did four takes total, using 3 stationary cameras plus one handheld. ALL of the audio and most of the visual content is the 4th take, the monolog at the end being from a different take. They just edited in post between all the camera views shot in the same take. I know I'm hella late to this video, but I wanted to make a point. People don't realize that when you're misdiagnosed with a mental disorder, or the doctors give you an antidepressant to treat another condition, those drugs still affect the chemicals in your brain so, even if you weren't depressed before, your body has become accustomed to that medication so you can't just stop taking it. You have to wean yourself off of it, IF you can come off of it at all.
