Thanks for this. I always thought 10 top meant the top 10% of the Wood Library series also. Good info.

I made the same mistake for years.

In the mid 80s people started asking Paul for the 'special' figured woods hidden in the back room. They decided to separate the best woods and call them 10 tops.

Honestly wow and thank you man. Up in Canada I can't do this but gonna buy a core modern eagle and hope for the best. Hoping to die with this guitar. Thanks for the advice, it actually really helps. Take care man and you're one of my new favorite channels. Thanks again 🙂👍

I bought an HB2 that is both a 10 top and a woodlibrary.

I would be happy with any of them. Don’t care what it’s called :)

Ive noticed the 10 top commands a price a little higher than the standards. If it's simply handwritten onto the headstock, what's to stop people from using a printout of the number from an online picture, print it out (sized right) and trace it onto the top right of the headstock? If you're willing to wait, I see this being abused online and naive buyers will pay thinking they got a 10 top when it wasn't legit. A guitar enthusiast doing homework will see right through this, but they won't be the ones buying the guitar.
