    Arn is still my favorite after all these years (Bobby Eaton is a close second). He wasn't flashy and fancy; no robes or gimmicks. He just showed up and did his thing and it was so clean and slick and well executed every single time. In my opinion, still the best spine buster and DDT in the business.

    The Erik Watts/Arn Anderson angle was one of my very favorite in WCW at that time. So cool to hear some of the inner workings behind it! The gas station angle was incredible.

    Eric was good. He got pushed way too hard, they basically shoved him down the fan's throats, which was a shame. If they had just let him be as good as he was and grow in his skill, he could have been even bigger. They shouldn't have booked him as the son of Bill Watts, it really gave him the nepotism image

  • @justint8635

    IMO, Erik Watts got a raw deal with his career. He seems to have been ultimately hotshotted and he should've had more time to develop, build, and seasoning. He had a good look and good size. Being in dumb gimmicks like Tekno Team 2000 doesn't help anyone. Every shoot I've seen of him, he comes off as humble and likeable. Not deserving whatsoever of the "worst worker ever" tag that he gets labeled with by 'smart' fans.

    • @justint8635
      @justint8635 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Anyone that wants to dispute that he was hotshotted, he was signed to WCW after THREE months of training. Absurd. Then when he starts wrestling regularly for them, goes on an undefeated streak and going over guys who had years of experience. So ridiculous

    This was an interesting angle, Erik Watts who got a push because he was the son of a booker versus Arn Anderson who got a push because he was the kayfabe brother/nephew of a booker. Both were talented but Watts got heat from the locker room because his relationship to the booker was a shoot and not a work. Before anyone says it, I've acknowledged that Arn was talented but his career would have taken a different trajectory if he didn't look like Ole Anderson.

    • @kwmusic4560
      @kwmusic4560 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a hell of an assumption.

    • @kevinbrown-ge6sz
      @kevinbrown-ge6sz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kwmusic4560 It's not an assumption at all. Anderson was given that name because he looked like Ole. Ole was at the tail end of his career and he picked Arn to be his tag team partner to extend his career and pretended to be Arn's brother/uncle. Arn is talented but so are a lot of other wrestlers who never made it big. There's nothing extraordinary about Arn that you can say he would have been a star. He's not the biggest, most athletic or most charismatic wrestler.
