A thing I find amusing about Geras is that, with just about everyone else, he's pretty relaxed and chill, but with Kollector, he sounds angry bordering on completely outraged. Kollector's got just that right kinda swagger to achieve genuinely pissing off an immortal guardian of Kronika. I love Kollector all the more for it.
Kollector's interactions with Shao Kahn is oddly wholesome. Just a tax collector who's loyal both financially and personally towards his boss, even after death. Makes me wonder if there's any kind of backstory with him and Shao Kahn, or if it's just business that makes them great allies
He even says to Jade that without Shao Kahn, his race the Naknada were lesser beings until Shao brought Kollector among his ranks, now they are feared. He literally owes his life and much more to the Emperor for saving his kind. In return, he even said to Raiden in one of the intros that without Kollector's tribute, Shao Kahn's empire would crumble, showing how dedicated and effective he is.
From context clues and piecing together dialogue hints, he was probably extremely poor and grew up with nothing. As a child he probably woke up hungry every day either cause he was on his own or his family was too poor to afford anything. Shao Kahn conquered his people and saw potential in kollector due to his ability to survive and gave him a job as his treasurer, and Kollector was so used to having nothing, that being given all these riches and everything he ever wanted by Shao Kahn not only made him extremely greedy but immensely loyal to him. So Kollector is beyond grateful to Shao and in turn he pledges blinded loyalty
Know what would be fun? A game with Kollector in a Yakuza-esque setting where you brawl for money and go do quests, rob and duel debtors, learn all sorts of magic, and go treasure hunting.

What kind of accent does this guy have? I heard it's supposed to be Spanish. Also, his last intro quote is a little scarier than you might think. "Gold buys people like you", if used against someone like Shang Tsung was a slave to their avarice, they'd be so easily bought off with riches and such. Shang Tsung's not exactly that kind of person to be bought off so easily, but just imagines others like him who would be more willing to sell themselves for a good price.

Also before MK11 was released the developers talked about Kollector lore and they are calling the Kollector is Shao Khan's "Boogeyman" of outworld along those lines. so it not hard to tell which character from DC he was inspired by.
