The Athlon Argos 6-24X50 is a fantastic budget friendly optic. I love mine.

My friend is sponsored by Athlon in long range competition. Their high end $2,000+ stuff is made in Japan. They have budget options down to about $150 made in China.

He said the "eye box" was very forgiving at 4.5 power. I wonder how forgiving it is at 30 power??

I’ve got 3 of their Cronus BTR G2 scopes, they are best in their price point by far! Have one Ares ETR UHD like this in black with one of their Mil reticles, that’s on my sons rifle. Really great scopes.

Between the Cronus and the Ares ETR, which do you prefer?

@@knieban I figured with me owning 3 of the Cronus and 1 of the Ares that would be self explanatory, but it is for sure the Cronus.

The Cronus is made in Japan and the Ares ETR is a Chinese made scope. I chose to buy the Cronus since it's Japanese and made in their famous LOW factory that other high end scope companies source their scopes from. I have shooting buddies that owned both Cronus and Ares ETR and they all stated the Cronus was the better scope and worth paying the higher price for and had a bit of remorse paying $1000 on sale for their ETRs since it's Chinese. I also bought the Athon Midas TAC 6-24x50 and Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 which are excellent in tracking and glass quality but rather exoensive Chinese made scopes for what you get unless you can find them on sale for couple hundred bucks off like $450 for the Midas TAC and $700 or less for the Ares BTR. They are far superior to my Athlon Argos 6-24x50. I should have bought more Midas TACs instead of the 2 Argos.

I really think Athlon has to lower their scope prices. Can't possibly cost that much to manufacture their scopes in China. Meopta Optima 6 is cheaper and made in Europe.

I wonder if the TH-camrs realize that the economy is in the toilet?? Because I don’t know anyone that’s going to spend over $1000 for a scope. When you can spend half to 1/3 of that cost on a Primary Arms acss Retical scope. You can even get the famed Christmas tree reticle like the one on this $1500 scope for $500 with glass compared to high end $3000 scopes. Primary arms optics for the win! I’ve been using them for years and I haven’t broken one yet…

I'm a PA fan as well and as I mostly agree, with this particular scope I do not. You'd have to get their Gold or Platinum series scope to compete with this one and those run north of $1200. I got this scope for about $1100 with discount.

I have a $300 PA 4-14x and it wasn't worth the money IMHO when my $100 BSA 4-14x really looks like the same scope with a different reticle. These PA and BSA are both Chinese scopes. What sucks is PA that's 3x the price only has a 3 year warranty while BSA is lifetime.

I don’t get it why is every video of a high powered scope for a lot of money. Shooting at distances I could easy throw a rock and hit the target!!! Nobody is buying this for 100yds and in! Show 500yds and out! That’s why we are here. To see what this scope is capable of and to see how it performs!
