    The sidestand kill switch I think is a legal requirement on all bikes, in the UK at least. One neat thing about it on the CRF300L is that it has a little metal protector around it to stop it being damaged on a rock. I don't think the CRF250L had this.

    My 2021 crf300L ABS, also has a tip over kill switch. If the bike is on and you take a spill, it turns off. When you pick it up you have to cycle the key off and back to on before the bike will start. Check it out!

      I’ve heard if the bike is turned over a certain distance the kill switch is activated which is pretty rad. I haven’t put it down just yet but I certainly will keep that in mind once I do 🤙
      Hope you are enjoying the bike 🤘

    I am pleased that you demoed those safety switches at the beginning of the video. It was not news to me but for new riders it is very helpful I am sure. As for disconnecting the kick stand switch I have not done that on any of my bikes ( CRF230L, NC700X, CRF300L Rally) except my DRZ400S and have not ever had any issues with them but I did disconnect the switch on a Suzuki DRZ400S because of videos of one cutting out from just hitting bad bumps in the road. I have ridden all my aforementioned Honda's and never had that happen. And on the CRF230L I have ridden some pretty rough roads and still no problem with the kick stand kill switch. I think Honda did it write.

    If you want some extra tech features.. there's a hidden port behind the headlight that is a plug for accessories - it cuts power when bike is off, so great for heated grips / phone charger etc

    Nice presentation, thanks! I'm obsessed with this little bike! You'll probably want to disconnect that kickstand kill switch. It will kill the engine if the kickstand gets moved riding offroad. I don't own this bike (yet) but it's been a problem on a couple dual sport/adv bikes in the past. No fun to have the engine shut off while riding a wheelie through a huge puddle.

      Hey Todd thanks for checking out my channel! I'm obsessed with the bike too. So far it's been everything I've expected. Many riders are asking the moon of this machine however it won't and can't provide everything however it's exactly what I have been looking for making the move from motocross bikes to a dual sport. I am really excited to start exploring the mountains as soon as the snow melts. Until then I hope to make some modification videos.
      I certainly take into consideration your advice on the kick stand. Stoked

    Good video but most bikes have all these and have had for years, but may be for new riders. I have the KTM 390 Adventure, the DR650, and just got the Honda CRF 300 L do not understand the manual when it comes to changing things on the dash would be very good to see one, The KTM had even more but much easer to understand plus the switches are on the left handle bar much easer to get at. On the Honda I put Dunlop 606 tire on the rear and waiting for a Pirelli M16 for the front. for now have a Kenda big block on the front. Of any off road tiding it pays to up grade your tire. had mine put on before the bike left the shop. If you are doing more road and only light dry trail Dunlop TrailMax Mission are great tires have them on the KTM and DR They handle great on and off road and last a long time, Just not the best for deep sand and mud, they will do it but The 300L I will use 90% off road so went with something more aggressive. If you want to add a light weight ADV bike to the stable the KTM 390 Adventure with some 33/46 liter GIVI hard bags makes a great ADV bike Two in the stable is good and 3 is even better.

      Hey Hilton. First off thanks for checking out my channel. Yes this video was intended for riders out there who have never owned a street bike. It's not uncommon for riders to have ridden their entire lives on dirt bikes and once they move to a dual sport bike the machine has several features necessary to be street legal. For those of you that have spent years on street bikes or street legal dual sports this video may not be geared to you however I still thinks it's a rad little insight on our beloved Honda CRF 300L. Sounds like you have a nice little quiver yourself and good notes on the tires. I've been riding all over Vermont and I'm going to hold off on tires until I wear down these IRC Trails. I guess I'm just stubborn that way but I can't allow a new tire to go unridden or end up in a land fill and I'm finding I can pretty much take them anywhere however I know how stoked I will be on a more aggressive set and I'm looking forward to that day. Also stoked to keep on on my mods as the winter progresses.

    My concern with this bike is there is no gas reserve, only a blinking light. Manual warns of possible fuel gauge failure. I see you are down to one bar out of the 6 available bars! I'm afraid to get below 2 bars. I have been keeping my rides short, like 80 miles because I have no idea how far you can go. What is your miles when down to one bar? Thanks

    • @vtoffroadadv735
      @vtoffroadadv735  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. I’m not sure the exact mileage once we are down to 1 bar on the bike however if you are doing an extended ride I would strap down a little extra fuel for piece of mind 🤙

    • @johnpagejr.7628
      @johnpagejr.7628 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I own the CRF300L Rally and I get 70 mile to the gallon and I use my trip meter to keep track of the miles traveled on each and every tank of gas. If you want to know how much is left when you have one bar left fill up write when you hit the one bar and subtract the amount of fuel you put in from the total fuel the tank can hold. My NC700X has about a half gallon left when it get down to one bar. I think it holds about the same amount of fuel as the CRF300L Rally.

    • @dancingmaryjane
      @dancingmaryjane ปีที่แล้ว +1

      gas gauge is not accurate you have to use the fuel consumed which is extremely accurate . its a setting on the dash

    • @autocrow
      @autocrow ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dancingmaryjane I discovered the "fuel consumed" and have been using that now for months. I can safely go on my 120 mile rides with no fear. I've gone as far as 137 miles. without running out of gas! You have gauge, odometer and fuel consumed. 3 ways to keep track! Fuel consumed is the best for sure. I tell everyone about it.
