That depends which country you are talking about, he calculated PLN to Euros for the video so in Euros it's not that much, but in PLN it's much bigger cost

Don't forget to have the headlights aligned. Most people forget this is a thing, but especially on older cars, there are adjustment screws that are used to make sure the headlight is pointing in the right place.

my jaw actually DROPPED when you said how much Mickey charged you, that is an incredible deal for the work he did. I got quoted €3K just to have my arches welded back together, you got a full resto for a little more, thats insane
The new paint looks like lightning McQueen after his remodel in radiator springs. This is a compliment.

The running light colour change looks like the might have a polarised filter on them, could be that it's built in or it could just be a protective cover which needs peeling off
Now this is totally where I love where the viewer generated money goes to, not for creators to flex shit to their viewers and fans but actually put into their shitbox and make something great that viewers can also enjoy and also you Mighty get to ride a restored car!

I am now the owner of a 1998 MX-5 NB after my mother sadly passed away. It was the first car I ever bought and it was her 60th birthday present from me. The car is almost identical in construction to the NA, but costs only 1/4 because it has no pop-up headlights.
I love the car, you can't imagine how much fun a Miata can be. Because I now also have a close emotional bond with the car, I will keep and cherish it.

I was a bit sceptical at first about this, kind of worried that you would ruin the car thats become your whole image, seeing this was super cool! I think the red paint was the right choise, it's your color after all :)
I think the stock headlights look better, but tbh those ones you put on are more unique.
Looks like the restoration was very well done as well, and that seems like a really good price too, i bet it would cost a lot more where i live. Your car really deserves this love!
I own a 1990 1.6 Automatic (yeah ew I know) Miata, I'm currently "restoring" it to the best of my abilities by my self.
I don't make too much so I need to slowly buy parts I need but I'm just trying to keep it nice.
It's a fun project that has in the past month has given me quite a few problems with replacement refurbished parts and other problems that I just don't have the experience to diagnose and fix on my own.
I don't watch you as much as I did about 2 years ago but besides watching cars when I was a kid, your Miata is one of the main reasons I own a little beauty today, thank you.
Dude I love those headlights, unique and functional. It looks normal from the side, then looks "done with everything" when viewed head on. I bet it will look like eye slits if you wire up the running lights.

Honestly surprised it wasnt a turbo 5cyl out of the volvo s60r, but the lexus v8 makes a lot of sense too. Cant wait to see the finished product, definitely one of a kind. Crazy to see you come so far over the years :')
the 5cyl would be much more unique, but would require a LOT more custom fabrication :/
there are some kits for the 3UZ, which make the swap much easier
If you decide to change the headlights back to "stock" the American company Holley makes full LED lights called RetroBrights that look identical to the original sealed beam lamps. Basically 3x the light output but a stock look.

for your other miata, i had a 91.5 and lost my driver side mirror between checking it and another mirror, looked back and it was gone, anyway, 80's firebird/fiero mirrors look really good on it and fit nicely with just new holes in the same spot
Stock lights for sure, also the signal/running lights I like stock more.

This video just reminded me to seal the inside of my new quarter panel before I attach it. Glad I saw this before I attached it...
Side note, the reason the running lights have different colors is most likely due to using 2 or more different LEDs to make the white light, you might be able to fix it by rotating the actual bulb but this just changes the problem from sideways to vertically but less likely to see that anyway. A proper fix is to change the bulb for a single color LED

It would be hilarious if you fully built a drift Miata so that it is on the edge of being street legal, and then take it for a grand tour across Europe. Going to racetracks and events, etc. and fix things that go wrong with it along the way, kinda like a European version of Roadkill or hot rod drag week.
I’m sure NOTHING will go wrong with a 350hp Miata lowered and modded with a massive body kit and skinny tires with enough boost to pop a weather balloon.
especially with a gearbox that is on the verge of turning itself into a metal slushie

For led changing color at different perspectives you could try using computer monitor diffuser films. any old lcd screen have them. just stick it on led that might help a bit.

For anyone dealing with mold, 1part vinegar to 4 parts water in a spray bottle, spray liberally, let dry. Can in more, I think I blasted my foresters with a 50/50 mix when it went moldy. Doesn't remove the stains but it kills the mold.
If you plan on keeping the stock front subframe, i HIGHLY suggest finding an nb mazdaspeed subframe (or at least an nb subframe). both of them have improved suspension geometry and greatly reduce bump steer.
All na/nb subframes are 100% interchangeable and are a direct bolt on swap. (youll also need the NB steering rack).
