It's not possible for arcade endings to be canon. Jin was the only person to face Azazel. There is no way Steve's Tekken 6 ending is canon either. Only the Scenario campaign is canon.

Even if Tekken 5 is 100% superior to 4 in terms of gameplay, it lost in story telling. Bringing back old characters that have been somewhat canonically substituted by new entries (Wang with Xiaou, Baek with Howhrang, etc) was not a wise choice in my opinion. And even if Wang was brought back for this chapter, I wish his story would have gone different. Something like… Wang actually making it to the fight with Jinpachi, getting to the point of winning due to Jinpachi’s consciuness resisting the demon, but Wang hesistating to give the final blow and that’s what had him killed by Jinpachi himself… it would have been an heroic way to go…
The fact thaty Heihachi the most treacherous and heartless mofo in Tekken calls Wang "Wang-ji" (ji being short for jiji which means grandpa in japanese) is astonishing. Even Heihachi has respect for Wang. If he isnt a DLC character in tekken 8 even though Leeroy replaced him i'll be saddened.
I always used Wang but I think if they revamped Wang to a younger version (make it look like donnie yen for example) would attract more players to use him. Part of it was player base changed and rather wanted a more visually pleasing character over other traditional factors (age = wisdom).
