- Here's my UPDATED 2023 lore guide for Honkai: Star Rail!
this is just an intro to the lore but if you want a more in depth guide on the mechanics and combat go watch my previous Star Rail videos!

*UPDATE*
As of making this video there wasn’t much info out about the lore but now the game is officially out, I’ll be making some updated videos about all of it!
I don't know if I'm more hyped for the game itself, or for all the LORE!! We need all the crack Star Rail theories.
And boy do I have some crack theories for you…

One thing about different characters, Welt in HSR is the actual Welt from Honkai Impact 3rd

At first, Jarilo meaning Spring was ironic but by the end of the story arc I thought it was a fitting name to go with the theme of Spring and hope coming after winter and rebuilding the nation and new growth.
All the aeons so far look so cool. I wonder if we'll ever actually get to interact with them in game

i think something to note is that the honkai exist to ''test'' a civilisation, if they ''pass'' they are allowed to continue developing in the imaginary tree into advanced civilisations like the one in star rail. the civilisations we see in game have clearly passed this test being far more technologically advanced in an overall sense compared to the HI3 civilisation (although lacking in areas around honkai and universe travelling research, which is understandable) but despite this the stellarons attack continue to attack them in a similar way to honkai, which doesn't really add up when its already been explained multiple times that the honkai basically act as protectors to the tree in a similar way to white blood cells
why would the imaginary tree send a force to destroy worlds that have (presumably) passed its honkai test and have been blessed with beings who are arguably far stronger than herrschers (with the obvious exceptions like the MC trio and senti) send another universal force to test them again?
stellarons *could* just be another name for quanta but welt doesn't point out any connection between the two, which is weird because he's constantly saying things like ''i thought [insert star rail thing] was [insert honkai thing] but i later realised they were different'' when you ask him about lore.
so either A. the aeons and the civilisations they create aren't as pure and godlike as they present themselves as (which wouldn't be surprising).
or B. whatever stellarons are, they come from outside the imaginary-quanta system...which has some terrifying implications.
I think the stellarons are a plot device relative to “arrogation”. Now this is more of a crack theory than anything else but maybe the stellarons aren’t Honkai or quanta but something created by Nanook, and Honkai Will possibly sees it as an act of arrogance and will “fail” them in the future and start a Honkai invasion

It is same universe as HI3rd, thought - Welt, Carol and Hersheronya are from there, after the events of Post-Honkai Odyssey.
It’s kind of the same but not. Welt and Void Archive are the only canon characters from Honkai Impact 3rd. The Bronya and Carol in Star Rail are from the Star Rail Universe so they’re not the same Bronya and Carol we know from Honkai. Bronya is Bronya but doesn’t have the same history/backstory as Bronya from HI3
@@OofieTV It seems that Carole was won't appears anytime soon in Honkai Star Rails since hoyoverse delete the trailer of Honkai Star Rails where Carole appears. I think that that one world we will visit will be 🌎 which is Honkai Impact 3rd, since Welt also want to go home to see his family.
@@OofieTV Also, it seems that the Hacker Bronya is from Capitanverse thought, the universe from events in HI3rd, the one where Captain (who was ditched in main story as captain now is Theresa, not plyaer) is going in different worlds and collecting charactes - so like Star Rail.
@@GrimMeowning We can't actually be sure if Bronie is Silver Wolf or just AU similarities like how HI3 girls are similar to a near fault with GGZ girls.

As a person that use to watch voltron it kind of weird I could see the connection they have between them.
Great introduction video for newbies, thanks! I will definitely give Star Rail a chance, I'm hoping for it to be some sort of anime Mass Effect 😅 Also, I really like that it is designed in a way so that Genshin players will feel at home right from the start, but it implements some core paradigms opposite to Genshin's - like turn-based combat with the option for auto-battle and linear level design as opposed to open world. This seems like a very well thought out design decision by HoYo in the way that the intensity and pace of both games will be totally different and Star Rail can possibly draw in a large number of Genshin players like myself without making them drop Genshin. I mean, if I had to explore another open world designed to get you sidetracked all the time due to the hundreds of calls to action, I'd probably go nuts and be a lot more reluctant to try Star Rail 😂At least those are my impression right now, before I have actually played the game.
Ultimately, it is up to how good the story is that will determine whether I stick to Star Rail or not, that's my main motivating factor. I am in love with Genshin's story and lore so I trust HoYo. On the other hand, I really wanted to love Honkai Impact as well, but despite the magnificent aesthetics and combat system, the story was too convoluted for me to follow and I had to drop it unfortunately. That's why I'm also very happy that Star Rail is doing its own thing, despite being in the same shared multiverse as all of HoYo's other games. 😊
Star Rail is actually open world! There are some stage based events in the game but the main part is open world! When I played the beta I def set time aside where I could go explore and click all the things and talk to a lot of random NPCs. IMO those small contents are where Star Rail really shines! I think the funniest and best dialogue is in the side content !

Somthing intresting regarding GI
Aeon herrscher archon are the same thing
In gi the 7 elemants are from the light realm and light elemant thats baisicly img energy and probably the img tree
The aechon imbody an ideal and don't go aginst it
So thay are an aeon split in 7
(Tsarita wanting aeno to awaken with the gnosis)
I think herrschers and Archon are more akin to Emanators rather than the aeons themselves
So in the same way that the Traveler is likely gonna get some kinda new light element at some point the Trailblazer is probably gonna create their own Path considering they're literally called the Trailblazer.

A video in a tweet by honkai starrails account was all about honkai 3rd so brought me here. It makes it look like honkai 3rd is important to understand before you play starrail? What are your thoughts?
Your experience will not be limited by not knowing Hi3rd lore! But it does have some funny and clever Easter eggs for it!

Hi i have a question why is mihoyo using german words often like herscher(ruler),
Welt(world) and so on?
Its probably because Schicksal is a faction that originated in Germany and as basically being the one that was dealing with Honkai for the longest time they got to name them. Also Welt was found in Berlin without his meomry so he was given something in german (lorewise)
They really like it lol. All the way back to GGZ they’ve been using Germanic words and religions in their games! They like to take a lot of inspirations from a lot of different religions and cultures from all over the world!

It's a very good video with some small errors, but tbh they are mostly harmless to new players.
There are more than 14 paths and it's stated that more can be created.
Aeons are way above herrschers and archons. Emanators are more on their level.
It should be stated that gameplay paths and lore paths are separate. The main crew are Akivilis folowers, not what the gameplay role tells you.
Also, people need to stop comparing stellarons to visions, they are more like gnosis if anything (it screams herrscher core).
Are the characters actually following their in-game path according to the lore? Clara has given no indication she follows the path of Destruction, the whole Astral Express crew should be the same path since they all follow the path of the trailblaze, Ruan Mei is definitely not trying to promote Harmony, and Argenti is part of the Knights of Beauty, not the Genius society.
So after HI 3'rd recent part 1 ending, while there is part 1.5 and APHO - I genuenly want to see how Star Rail will aproach it's stoty. How it will go about Honkai, that is not contained to single planet. What will Kiana and Mei be like. (Because, obviously they'll be there. I mean 'cmon). Because for me the saga of HI 3 has ended and I want to experience this one rught from the start. Which is going to be first of 3 Hoyo games for me to go in on launch.
However. There is couple big Buts. And I am not talking about Himeko or others here. But rather I really, really DO NOT want them to go APHO on us again. Because them releasing it the they did made me go: " wait who? what? huh?". While killing all of the stakes and totally losing me both in the plot and in the interest. Thus making me skip a solid year. And I will not, not even for a single moment will be surpried to see Kiana going "Sup" in APHO 3.
So, while I am exited for the "potential" of Star Rail's story, I hope, that Hoyo learned from the past, will have a flowing new adventure. And I am fully on board of that train for it.
Also ending HI 3 with a Train just to begin Star Rail with one - very subtle, Hoyo. Tots not on the nose.
