Wow! Now that was stunning. No wonder why Johnny Carson was calling Crystal on the phone after first seeing him when he was unknown. And, "Little Brother," Ali liked to call Crystal, who in turned called Ali, "Big Brother."

Billy Crystal, the comedian and actor, shared a unique and deep friendship with Muhammad Ali, who affectionately referred to Crystal as his "little brother." Their bond began in the 1970s when Crystal's career was taking off, and Ali was at the height of his fame as a boxing champion. Their Relationship: 1. This led to a lifelong friendship. 2. Ali's Nickname for Crystal: Ali began calling Crystal his "little brother," highlighting their close bond. Crystal reciprocated the affection, describing Ali as a mentor and a source of inspiration. 3. Tributes and Legacy: Crystal often paid tribute to Ali in his performances, including heartfelt and humorous impersonations. At Muhammad Ali's funeral in 2016, Crystal delivered a moving eulogy, recounting their friendship and celebrating Ali's charisma, humor, and greatness. 4. Crystal once said that Ali's friendship changed his life and taught him about courage, kindness, and being true to oneself. Their relationship remains a testament to Ali's ability to form meaningful bonds with people from all walks of life.
Muhammad Ali is widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes and cultural icons of the 20th century. Here’s why he is so revered: --- Key Characteristics of Muhammad Ali: 1. Unparalleled Skill in Boxing: Ali had exceptional speed, agility, and strategy, earning him titles such as "The Greatest." His unique fighting style, including his famous "Ali Shuffle" and ability to "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee," set him apart. 2. He fought formidable opponents, even under immense pressure, and often overcame the odds. 3. His stance on civil rights, equality, and justice inspired millions, especially marginalized communities. 4. Charisma and Wit: Ali had an electrifying personality. His humor, charm, and ability to connect with people made him a global icon. He was as much a showman as he was a fighter, drawing people to him beyond just his sports achievements. 5. Resilience and Determination: Despite being banned from boxing for three years during his prime, he returned stronger, reclaiming his heavyweight title. His resilience extended into his later years as he battled Parkinson's disease with grace and continued to inspire through his philanthropic efforts. 6. Humanitarian Spirit: Ali was deeply involved in humanitarian work, promoting peace, helping underprivileged communities, and serving as a global ambassador for goodwill. He used his fame to raise awareness about important issues, from racial injustice to global peace. --- Why People Love Muhammad Ali: 1. Legacy of Greatness: Ali’s achievements in the ring, combined with his social impact, make him a figure who represents excellence, courage, and compassion. --- Muhammad Ali was more than just a boxer; he was a leader, a trailblazer, and a hero whose influence went far beyond sports. His legacy remains timeless.
