Lessard is so much fun to watch live. Last time I saw them I was wearing a Contortionist sweater with the lyrics to Flourish. He spotted the sweater and was touching the words on the sweater as he was singing them.

I love how Michael's performance is almost robotic in a way. Like he's got every single movement he makes planned, the way he mumbles 'flourish' during that performance. He really gives into the music and let's it take him by the hand. Amazing.
Mike's breath control is just ridiculous. Top five vocalist in the metal game.
Him and Daniel Tompkins are top tier..

Dude I just say them with AAL and they busted 3-4 exoplanet tracks and 1-2 Intrinsic tracks.
MasterofWEEN They played Flourish Primal Directive Solipsis and mixed something in with another track. I can’t remember that well.
Jonathan is still writing Intrinsic era music. If you havnt, go check out Foreign Waves on FB. You can tell when Jonathan left he took a HUGE part of the old sound with him, and he is recreating it in his new project.

Flourish is one of the most beautiful metal songs ever. Most emotional guitar riffs I've ever heard.

That middle section is my favorite piece of musical composition ever. It's mind blowing that it was only their first album when they wrote it.

Flourish and Oscillator... Those two songs have given me the most incredible out of body experiences while listening. The Contortionist is years beyond so many other bands.
Too bad those guitars are not as present anymore as years ago..
I love love love love how they consider both parts of Language to be one song.
When I saw them, the played Language I as the first song of the set and Language II as the last song of the set. It kind of bothered me at first since I always listen to both halves as one, but it ended up being kinda cool and kinda almost made the whole set feel like one linear piece.
The Riff Notebook here in india too they started with language I and played language II in continuation to integration. It was so unpredictable yet crazy

If you haven't seen these guys, especially at a small venue, do it. Get high and do it. It's incredible.
Seen them on edibles with Silent Planet before them and the energy going from dark to light was just insane to be apart of. Best show I have ever been to. I tear up just thinking about it.

My god this band has come such a long way. Saw them live many times with John Carpenter back in the day, and they manage to find a new sound with each album. The music they write is jaw dropping.
Truly man. And this ep they are about to drop sounds really fresh as well
I love seeing Cam get lost in the music. In addition to being an incredible guitarist, his stage presence is also really fun to watch.
These guys are so many years ahead of everyone. They are special. They can make the softest most ambient vibes like circa survive and literally 10 seconds later heavy like meshuggah and it makes musical sense and it’s emotional and intense and instinctual and intentional.
i like how when the keyboardist looks out into the crowd it looks like he just woke up from a dark ass room

Yeah decent. This is pretty much directly recorded right out the PA, instead of taking all the stems and being mixed by an engineer. For that this is pretty decent i.e. way better than any camera audio footage of them that's out there.
There is ZERO guitar in the mix haha.

The mix is garbage, but anyone calling anything about this band garbage clearly knows nothing about them.
Daniel Satterfield agreed can barely hear the guitars the synths are too loud and I legit can hear the drums from the other stage playing at one point

Yes is horrible, and i know this guy sounds awesome, but honestly, i prefer the "the contortionist" from the Exoplanet.
For me thats one of the greatest albums, one of the greatest bands.
Seen them multiple times over the years and I still can’t believe how incredible of a vocalist Michael is. His range and ability to transition seamlessly between screams and cleans is amazing. And he only seems to have gotten better and better.

their music is really way ahead of time, to be honest... they are so professional, sound more like a big band, than a rock band, and that is meant to be a compliment Incredible fresh original sound and I can only hope people really appreciate this level of talent Wonderful music

I saw them back in 2013, when Michael just joined the band and he performed lots of material from Exoplanet and Intrinsic. It was great.
Last time I saw them they played primarily directive and flourish not even a year ago
Michael actually used to sing heavier songs in his last band.
He can actually perform the old songs, I just feel like they now have a better time performing newer material

I must have been 10 years ago now where I was called the day of the show to come mix several bands playing with After the Burial in Duluth, MN. This band was one of those bands I mixed that day. Its so cool to see how far they have come! Great band!

You can see here why The Contortionist is one of my all time favourite bands and Michael on my Top 3 vocalist. He sings with all his body and mind and the notes he chooses are so intense I can only listen and do nothing else.

Since my first listening to The Contortionist I knew they were my fav band, I just knew it. And when I heard that they beguun this concert with Vangelis, my fav composer ever, I undertood why❤

The crowd was awful like some moments in the sound but band was awesome.
