- Isaiah Thomas, the last pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, a player who was traded by first two teams for seemingly no reason, eventually became a Top 5 Player in the whole NBA for the Boston Celtics in the 2016/17 season.
Despite standing at 5'9" and being so overlooked throughout his whole life, Isaiah Thomas proved everyone wrong, only, to once again, not be wanted at the peak of his career.

Thank you to everyone for tuning in! Have always wanted to make a video on IT, I spammed that quarter turn hesi move for like 4 years that he used, OP move. Have a great day everyone
Can you do Chris Paul please
1 OF MY FAVORITE PLAYERS OF ALL TIME💯BRO WAS LITERALLY 5'9 PUTTING UP 50 BALLS IN THE PLAYOFFS AVG 30 PPG FOR THE SEASON😳ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IN LIFE IF YOU TRUST GOD & PUT IN THE WORK🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
True but chill on the caps
AMEN
He had like 3 or 4 good seasons lol. 😂😂
@@krisbrown4761that’s 3-4 more good years than 80% of the entire history of the league
@@krisbrown4761 bro I can feel your jelousy coming out. That's a very impressive feat no need to downplay it. Who raised you to be like that?
Isaiah was incredible for the fans around Sacramento. We tried to meet him at a Pizza Guys event, however the line was so long it took 4 hours and we didn't get to meet him. Even in his small size, his big heart was what won fans over
love this story, thank you for sharing it!
We will never forget what IT4 did for Boston. Dude got injured and lost his sister and showed up to work ready to fight. Everyone in this city will tell you they love him and wish him the best on and off the court, we are all Isaiah Thomas fans at heart ❤️
I’ve been a doctor for 30 years and diagnosed many labrum tears over the years. With many patients it all depends on the the situation, it depends on everything, if you give a hip or shoulder pain a few weeks to get better or get an MRI. There are insurance companies that won’t even pay for a MRI in some patients until they get physical therapy first. In Isiah case he is a professional athlete with millions of dollars on the line and I would probably order an MRI if he wasn’t better in just a few days. If they treated him as just a soft tissue injury and did physical therapy on him they should have known that if he wasn’t getting better he needed an MRI. But what I’m saying is because of what he does for a living he probably should have had the MRI almost immediately.
Isaiah Thomas is one of my top 10 favorite players, great video. This man had a hell of a run
Man I never seen that clip of him breaking down after his 81 pts. Kobe was one of his mentors too. I miss him, man. Wish he coulda gotten that surgery sooner
damn I didn't even make the 81 point connection, amazing point bro
Isaiah Thomas’ career was stolen by Boston’s medical staff. From MVP contender to forgotten, all because they misdiagnosed his injury. Imagine losing $150M and your prime heartbreaking and infuriating...
Just like Kawhi. They could have been in GOAT conversations at their positions. They failed these men, their families and fans of the game. I hope the league learns from this.
Will never forget that 2017 second round series and what he did to my Wizards. What an absolute hooper. Sadly, both Thomas and the Wizards franchise haven’t recovered since. Also shout out to John Wall, was the heart and soul of the squad for nearly a decade
i cried hearing this story. I remember his days in Boston which a terrible accident.
He was in the zone for like two years straight
One of the most insane 2 year runs for real
Nah he had a good 4 year run just wasn’t talked abt at all in Sacramento
@@ljbates5078I forgot bro was filthy in Sac
Too bad the defense gave up more points than he ever scored because his defense was awful and was one of the worst defensive liabilities of all time
@@CharliAtari not on the Celtics. They made the ECF. His offensive contributions greatly exceeded what was lost on defense
Man this is very inspiring and emotional 😅thank u for sharing
Another Heartfelt Video 🤧
You going to get seen by someone and get what you deserved you the goat bro. Keep striving with your storytelling 💯
Thank you bro! Like I always say, I'm just glad you are here!
Another banger video, I did not follow his career or his run with the Celtics but I really enjoy watching old games of him if I can get my hands on them. Keep up the great work your videos are always much appreciated.
Thank you sir!
"If I can get my hands on them"? This isn't 1987, bro. Just search for them lol.
Real deal basketball legend in Seattle and Tacoma. Crazy hoop game🏀🏀
“5’9 with shoes on” was uncalled for lmaooo shots fired😂😂
He's really 5, 8 or was 5,7 😂
Seeing a small dude draining 3s really puts into perspective how far that 3 point line is
Favorite player ever. PNW legend.

He might have caused more damage playing on it but once those labrums tear they don’t heal well and the damage is done. My guess is it probably did cause more damage. Regardless his hip was never going to be the same.
At that height of 5'9 he can score against taller players in a league like the NBA where there are lots of elite players. I can't believe they gave up on him.
Can't believe y'all left out the frosty clip! I.T. is a legend man LMAOO
IT's playoff run with Celtics felt more interesting and legit than the Celtics' recent championship run beating injured teams.
Still a ring.
@kevinc8955 a meaningless one.
I would love to see I.T. back with the Boston Celtics
Heart over height, favourite player all time
i was hoping this man would inspire 2nd round draft picks but everyone trying to be like steph now
Both good things mostly
Isaiah Thomas was a walking bucket 🪣 🔥🔥💪🏾
A pro basketball organization like the NBA surprisingly has the ability to right the wrongs it incurs to a great degree. Its not everything but its something. Will it happen? Probably not, but that man, Isaiah Thomas and his family deserves more from us all. The league should still give him bread today for how and what he has sacrificed, period. I personally thank him.
Kinda weird hearing "Legendary" Isaiah Thomas, considering the Original Isiah Thomas is actually legendary. Yeah the names are spelled different but pronounced the same so it kinda sounds weird.
it definitely is a damn shame the Celtics ruined and robbed him. he could have become "Legendary" in his own right.
Imagine having an MVP season, hurting yourself being over used In the playoffs, losing a max contract on a contract year and the people who caused the mistreatment of the injury are like "seeya later, sry bout that MVP worthy season, kick rocks"
lil dude Def a trooper.
This guy and DRoses career could have been so much more sad to see
goated channel
Thank you for uploading.
thank you for commenting
I think his name being the same as one of the best point guards ever, mightve been somewhat of an Achilles heel for some teams to allow him to get established... Just my theory but seems like a pretty high bar
There names are spelled differently
His accelerated exit from the league makes me wonder what really happened? Did they want him to take "the oath" and he said no? Rumors about the car accident Isaiah's sister was involved in were strange to say the least. Some called it a "sacrifice ritual". Something went left and quick for his career.
Great video
I don’t want to sound an expert but signing Ruby Gay is just their 2nd priority they should prioritize getting a real center …. If you watch their games during those days they are like 1 and done shot
Bruh needs to sue the nba
You change history so that he comes out noble... while they were moving him to Cleveland he said he was perfectly healthy, said Boston didn't want to pay him and that he would show them they were making a mistake. In addition, the reason they did not continue with him in Boston was that he wanted a max contract and indicated this to the owner during the game
The kings coulda had Steve Balmer as an owner 😭 it’s so sad they didn’t get him
Love bro🎉
and just like running backs in the nfl, he was used up, then tossed aside
he was great offensively but wasnt on his defense
NBA did him wrong
I wonder if the outcome would have been different had he gotten the surgery they recommended initially. like maybe he wouldn't have returned to his mvp level but maybe he could have returned as still a 20 point scorer. sadly we will never know, I just wish there was a way for him to sue the Celtics and their staff for the lost wages. I don't think he would have gotten the full 150 million but he definitely would have received at least 100 million.
Man I really love your style of videos can you do Rajon Rondo next please?🙏🏿
Would love to do a rondo video, perhaps something about him being the only NBA player to have had 6 fingers?
That or “How a skinny point guard with no shot outsmarted everyone”
he wasnt sell his soul thats why he not in the league anymore. Jah bless Isaiah.
True baller! Mad respect for him. I hate the Celtics since they did that to him! Never a Celtic again!
Beautiful
1:38 Damon Stoudamire is from Portland
He was legit
Malone DMC and IT would have been a great trio
how people don't develop basketball IQ. Needing to be an all around atheltic scorer rather than position player/facilitator.
highest basketball IQ Ricky Rubio. Turned pro at 14, smaller younger weaker than anyone had to look to facilitate and make up with the speed of his mental computer. Watching him play wasn't just finesse his timing, awareness and positioning was what set him truly apart.
then again you can say Larry Bird.
NBA, did this man WRONG!!!..........Sometimes it's not about the MONEY, but the LOVE OF THE "S-P-O-R-T-!!!!!"
He exposed the NBA…..🎉 just because someone is 6’8” and can jump don’t mean they are good at the basketball🎉
He's been one of my favorite players growing up and knowing of his story. And me being from Az when I heard the suns gave him a 10 day contract at the end of the season I was wishing they would be kept him but they barley used him which ik made a lot of people and me mad. The NBA is doing him wrong
IT was special
The evolution of the game made him undesirable like all the other players were. NBA game is looking for versitile PG than a one way PG like the old era
Don't make idiotic statements you know zero about. The old era PG would D up these clown soft only shoot 3s NO DEFENSE PG of today.
the king of the 4th
Time machine
Being from Cleveland i was so excited to have him
Imagine if he got to play with kobe.
So I'm obviously ridiculously late on this, but I was today years old when I learned that Isaiah Thomas is NOT the son of the Pistons' Isiah Thomas. I did always think it was weird he wasn't "Jr" or even "II", but it never dawned on me they're not related.
That said, Isaiah was robbed by the league. He should have had a much more successful career.
I think quite a lot of people thought that was the truth, the Isaiah in this video even mentions in interviews that when The Last Dance came out, people were dm'ing him on IG spewing hate about his "father" Isiah Thomas, so don't feel too bad about it!
Try to fly from Miami to Seattle for a game or 7 game series. Miami has become respectable NBA market I guess Seattle never got there.
loved the supersonics.. shame Vancouver and them both left
Seattle Won The Championship In 1979
@SamuelHenry-m1i in 1979
one of the “great players” he wasn’t the best at any nba level but he was a great performer.. no records to confirm best
You said wanted him.. then tell me why he has a contract in one of the NBA team?
Never say, "I gave my all, I wish their was more that I could do."
Nice video and commentary but the music is overbearing and not a match.
Whom did he "destroy"? Were they buried after "destroyed"? Exaggerate much?
Anyone else notice he says her regarding it lol
Imagine if Isaiah Thomas was 1 foot taller 🙄 🤦♂
he carried the ball more times than anyone on the previous 75 seasons ...got lucky than NBA allowed him to travel and carry all that time
Hater
Lol nba allowed lebum to travel his awkward asz many times yet its also okay😂😂😂
Lol nba let lebum constantly travel with his awkward whiney asz but its also okay😂😂😂
IT was truely gifted on offense, no doubt. However his physical deficiencies were too obvious from the get go and he was a liability on defense no matter how hard his coaches tried to hide him. Once he was injured, he also missed a step which literally devastated his worth as well.
He named his son afte rlosing a bet. This kind of thing is what curses are made of.
i know Mike Malone way before coaching the Nuggets and the Joker he was very unheard coach that time because i played NBA 2K13 when Warriors AC look like him 🤣
Offsetting his undeniable offense: he was an absolutely atrocious defender, bottom ten in the entire league including end of the bench players.
HOpe the medical misdiagnosis doctor had good insurance
I think you’ll grow to a star like IT, but have the longevity of Lebron!
So kat ruined him ?
Celtics did trainers lied about his hip he played while injured it got worse and then they traded him for kyrie while he was rehabbing
In a sense, yeah. Kat ended his career.
No, not KAT's fault at all. It was the medical staff who incorrectly diagnosed his injury.
@ exactly ! Which sucks because that man gave his all for that city lost a tooth, hooped when his sister died, I think he even had like something crazy with his eyes going on. But he stayed balling played injured ALOT with the Celtics and they hit him with the “it’s just business” bs whenever they had the opportunity of getting something better (kyrie trade) but they quickly seen the grass isn’t always greener on the other side
Should of sued the celtics they were either incompetent or straight up lying about his injury. Always get a 2nd opinion
Not as badly as the Celtics destroyed him. They did him dirty
They did him so foul
HEAD COACH JEFF HORNACEK!! LOOLLLLL.
IT the peoples champ
He was just too much of a defensive liability. All offense and 0 defense makes you less than avg.
If he was a net negative, the Celtics would’ve never made it to the ECF. He was definitely a net positive player that contributed to winning during those 3 seasons in Boston
@kevincastro8617 nah. Show me another player that averages over 25 and gets LEAGUE MVP and still can't find a team. Show me ONE. I will wait. Lmao his defense was a giant liability. And his size in general. He wasn't blocking the passing lanes and always able to block the ball handlers vision with his shadowing hand. Those matter a whole lot even tho they don't show up on the stat line.
@@beensavage390 what are you yappin about? He didn’t win league mvp. Unless you meant mvp votes. But obviously after the injury, he wasn’t the same player and couldn’t make it on a roster. But at his peak on Boston, he definitely would’ve been signed by many teams if he was available. I don’t disagree with you that defense is so important and doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. But saying that IT at his peak was “less than average” because of his defense is just plain incorrect. The Celtics made an ECF with him and they wouldn’t have made it that far without his contributions on offense. That means he’s a net POSITIVE player, even with his shortcomings on defense. If you watched his games, you’d see that he was carrying the Boston offense. If you’re arguing after the injury he was less than average, then yeah I agree. But before the injury, he was definitely an all star and deserving of MVP votes
@kevincastro8617 nope. You can still make it to a finals even if one of your players puts up great offensive numbers but is a liability on defense. As evidenced by....well, by that exact team. Lmao
@@beensavage390by this logic lebrons value is less then average as according to defensive ratings he has been worst then IT his whole lake career.
He’s too short they only want tall guys in the NBA there’s not many short guys in the league today.
Subbed because D Rose and IT4 were my goto Pgs in the old 2ks. Wish he didnt try to sacrifice his sister to stay in the league but hey
He was the best player under
Anthony towns ain’t shit for that
He NEEDS to sue the Celtics for destroying his $150miion contract, with negligence
He did that to himself.
Amennnn god blesss you all and follow god road and Jesus loves you all and follow god road amennnn and lord please forgive them for there sins amennnn
Forgot about the part where dude was actually garbage
I dunno what they shit on Boston for doing.. they gave him a deal when other teams threw him around.. in fact even trading him to a championship team. Yes he gave everything but based on the video, the Celtics org gave him the best possible outcome which other teams did not.
How just because he started .. Boston didn’t want him to start smart just got hurt and he made them see how good he was
@melvindemkebell4034 he was good no mistake about that.. but what Sac and Pho did to him were way worse than Boston.
Yeah and he reminded us every chance he got which got really old really quick. He exceeded expectations and that’s awesome but in the end he was just a flash in the pan who didn’t win a ship anyway. Whole thing got milked way too hard for way too long
wow
😂😂😂 destroyed nobody did nothing no bag no chip stayed injured
He did nothing lmao he gave up more points on the defensive end than he ever scored
definitely a better player than LeBrick's kid
