Shout out to the And-1 team for creating a whole generation of stylish Hooper's from around the world. They inspired MILLIONS, maybe more. That is what dreams are made of, and these for sure helped make A LOT of dreams. Much respect.
This is what got Mr. Sterling's NBA team was taken from him because he said that he could pay street ballers less money 💰 and make more money 💰. The NBA wasn't having it, so they set him up to be a racist just like they are doing Trump to kick him out of the league. He knew that many of the street ballers would bring more money to his team. Unfortunately the pipeline from the college to the NBA would be shattered and they knew it.

good on you bud. i remember playing basketball in my kitchen pretending to be tracy mcgrady in 2000. i would pretend whole games on the court for hours on end. id make whole association seasons in my head and practice. like i would be both teams pretending there was a defender infront of me, keeping score and everything. i miss those days. after my cousin died from cancer i kind of just stopped watching all sports. only recently have i come back to the game i love after a 10 year hiatus
Bringing Jameer Nelson back in the Finals totally sabotaged Alston and the Magic. In the first few games they almost split the minutes. Totally destroyed the chemistry and momentum of that team.
Back then the "old guard" never wanted to admit that street ball was viable... so eventhough Rafer clearly showed and proved, they couldnt let him flourish completely, the "suits" would've been humbled

I remember the refs always calling bogus traveling calls on him like the NBA doesn't allow traveling on every other play. On top of that when you watch the tapes, skip generally adhered to traveling rules when he played streetball.

Happened to play street ball in between like most NBA players. It just so happened those And 1 tapes came out. Slightly different time and circumstances and you would have seem guys like Garnett and Marbaury on those tapes.

I love this video and the time you took to gather all the resources. The only part I felt wasn’t transparent was the finals. They added Nelson to the starting lineup and benched him after he had led the team that far.
Because Nelson was hurt during the playoffs and got better. They didn't really bench Alston and he played a decent amount of minutes. Nelson was an borderline all star and the teams stater. Whether it was the right decision or not is another story...
You know what, you’re right. Skip was kept in the starting lineup after looking at the stats from the finals. However, Google's information is wrong, as it indicates that he was replaced. I was young and living in Orlando then, and I clearly remembered people upset about Nelson playing and “ruining” the chemistry Skip had created in the playoffs. I enjoyed your video dude. Every era is a plumber era to these kids. Even in the 50s these guys played basketball for a living. Football. Baseball players were wealthy to rich. It's not like European soccer where even the guys playing for Manchester United had second jobs. Theres scene in the Man United movie about the plane crash where some guys gets dumped by his girlfriend for, I think, an actually plumber because he makes more money than him.
It wasn't about losing his starting job to Arroyo. It was about being told he was no longer going to play and deciding that looking after his twin sister - who tried to take her life just a few days earlier - was more important.
I love Skip. He rarely got flashy in the NBA tho. That series vs the Magic was closer than it seems. Courtney Lee chocked if memory serves me correctly

You know what, you’re right. Skip was kept in the starting lineup after looking at the stats from the finals. However, Google's information is wrong, as it indicates that he was replaced. I was young and living in Orlando then, and I clearly remembered people upset about Nelson playing and “ruining” the chemistry Skip had created in the playoffs. I enjoyed your video dude. Every era is a plumber era to these kids. Even in the 50s these guys played basketball for a living. Football. Baseball players were wealthy to rich. It's not like European soccer where even the guys playing for Manchester United had second jobs. Theres scene in the Man United movie about the plane crash where some guys gets dumped by his girlfriend for, I think, an actually plumber because he makes more money than him.
