    Jared Kushner was accepted into Harvard despite his grades being far worse than several of his classmates who had been decline admission to Harvard.
    By an amazing coincidence just 2 weeks before Jared applied to Harvard, his father, ex-con Charles Kushner, pledged to donate $2.5M to the elite university.
    A teacher at Jared's school, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said "How can we teach these kids right from wrong when they can see that cash is the only thing that really matters?"
    Students who had worked much harder and achieved much better grades were heartbroken to lose their place to a far worse student simply because his Daddy had stacks of dodgy money.
    Rich folk, buying unfair advantages for their spoilt and entitled offspring is a far more serious problem but the media or politicians seldom mention that. I wonder why?

    • @kimberly8695
      @kimberly8695 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      But that's not how it works. DEI is designed to offer opportunities to those under-represented groups who ARE qualified but are not usually considered for positions. Most DEI candidates are actually hyper-qualified.
      Consider this. That expanding-faced himbo Charlie Kirk recently posted a video criticizing Boeing for their DEI policies, in relation to the ongoing issue with the 737. He said that if he sees the plane is flown by a Black pilot, he "just hopes he's qualified." However, throughout aviation history, most airline pilots have been and are today white males. Hence, most airline disasters happen because of the error of white male pilots.

    DEI, companies have found out, actually strengthens an organization. Different life experiences bring different points of view which brings better answers to problem solving. Companies, who initially embraced DEI for publicity, have found out that it is immensely beneficial all around. It has opened options, as stated, has improved problem solving, has brought new perspectives, and improved sales, profits, and efficiency. On a personnel level, it has opened the minds of many, exposed them to different cultures and perspectives, and has helped entire workforces open themselves to perspectives they never would have had when surrounded by homogenous co-workers. And yes, I am an old, cis, straight white man who has benefitted from inclusion starting in the 80s in the Navy.

      I’m a white woman, so I can’t speak for white men. But I always found it hilarious to watch my male colleagues complain about inclusivity when I look around and see that it’s all white people and 90% men where we work.
      The only guy I know who wasn’t employed and complained about not getting hired because he was “a white guy” also expected to have a much higher starting salary because he had a masters degree, so he refused to take an entry-level position because he felt he deserved to be paid more. He was a friend from university and it took him two years to find a job after getting his masters because his own hubris. He complained that his best friend, who was the son of immigrants, got a job before he did but his friend also took a job in another city with a much lower salary than he was willing to take. He complained that his girlfriend got a job before he did, but she took a job in another province and was working in another language (French). That was after she worked for 10 months in retail with an engineering degree. All of this was 20 years ago.

    The only problem I have with DEI is that the "equity" is for equality of outcome, rather than equality of opportunity, and that's the poison that has made communism fail over and over. If you can't actually get ahead by playing to your talents and working harder, what incentive is there to strive at all?
    Skin tone? All blood is alike spilled across the ground.
    What you have in your pants, or whose you want to get into? Your business and your partner's, nobody else.
    Languages and cultures? Imagine how boring it would be if everyone was the same!
    The root of the problem is that humans LIKE having an in-group and feeling superior to an out-group, and surface differences that can be discerned at a glance or with a few words make those groups easy to form. That's one of the things I like the most about the text-based internet but don't engage at all with social media - when all you have to judge someone by is a learned trait like how well they write and whether they have a similar interest in movies or bird watching or whatever you like, it's a lot easier to ignore all that.
    Who cares if you're black, white, yellow, or blue? I'll hate you for being a tasteless schmuck who supports the objectively wrong OTP couple, not for any of that superficial chaff!

      Exactly, especially when they _define_ racism as 'prejudice plus power' and _define_ white people as the only ones *with* 'power' historically, meaning _only_ white people have ever been 'racist,' can only be 'racist,' and the only ones who _could ever be_ 'racist.' Therefore, when non-white people do it through DEI it's not 'racism' -- just ignore the fact that DEI is a 'system' used by people with 'power' that 'oppresses' people based on 'race,' thereby making it 'systemic racism' by their own definition.

      @reasonableobjectivist3271 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@StephenLewisful When you said, "You aren't paying attention at all", that was an uncalled-for, a gratuitous, snide comment. The question: what is the difference between "equality" and "equity"? is a fair one--and you gave the wrong answer!
      Saying "All lives matter", for example, implies *EQUALITY* (= we all have equal rights). To say, "Black Lives Matter" is to demand *EQUITY* (= "Black Lives" require some extra focus/attention now, to make up for historical and current racial injustices). So, "equality" and "equity" are two different things. Full "equity" would require, ultimately, payment of reparations--"equality" would merely require aiming for a colorblind society.
      My hypothesis is that the demand for equity is a negotiating position: The pro-equity DEI folks will start by demanding equity, but ultimately settle for true, genuine equality. Saying, "We want DEI" is better than saying, "We want reparations!"

      Do you know that if you’re going into surgery you are more likely to have better outcomes and less likely to have complications if you have a female surgeon? Yet the anti-DEI crowd will tell you that a female surgeon is less qualified because she’s not a man. She is just as qualified as her male counterpart, AND statistics show has better outcomes and less complications than her male counterpart. The fact that she ticks a box in the eyes of culture Warriors makes her suddenly less qualified.
