Love how you guys just had a real discussion after the movie. My dad raised me as a single father, one thing I really respect is that he *never* said a single bad thing about my mother to me, not once.
what makes this really crazy to me is that Amanda was the one uneducated or desensitized on how to act in areas or countries you do not know and shows that Kim did take some of the things her dad probably taught her to heart, yet was put in this situation anyways. Kim continuously told her "you do not know him" and calling her name when Amanda gave too much information, yet as a teen she did not want to go against her cool, older friend. Amanda even lied to her friend about the family being in the home and only told her they were in another country once Kim was at the house. It just adds something more scary to me that a person can be taught all of the right precautions and get into 1 wrong situation where all bad factors meet, then be gone forever.
@@paulcarfantan6688 You have to train and reinforce that instinct, though. People who have lived safe, relatively happy lives have advantages and disadvantages compared to other people. One of the disadvantages is lack of accurate awareness of one's surroundings. And being neuroatypical can either make you much more aware, or much less. I'm highly autistic, and I'm _selectively_ highly aware of my surroundings, but I also become comically oblivious to other things if something catches my focus. We all have things we need to work on.

You got to act and the process should be precise and objective as well . What he wants to do should be clear as water from onset . So thts called processing of brain and act accordingly. I like that in your review, you mention the problem with affluent people being sheltered. This is a huge problem. Being cut off from the lives of normal people in the way that rich people tend to be has been shown to have several adverse effects on one's psychology. It can impair your empathy, your ability to judge a situation, your problem-solving skills, all kinds of things. You need to be around ordinary people, sharing in their struggles, having to empathize and problem solve and otherwise develop your mind in healthy ways. If you lose touch, you risk becoming a victim, or worse, a perpetrator of this kind of thing.
The problem is also that the authorities in many countries hardly fight it as they are often complicit. And their excuse is that the children themselves wanted to be in such a situation. Typical victim blaming
It's a brutal but beautiful movie. It takes you past the BS and gets you right into the darkness. And though he's doing amazingly heroic things, he also encounters situations where he is truly over matched and can't achieve the ideal outcome, which is painfully realistic. As for the series, while I don't think it hurts to watch the sequels, it's the first movie that deserves the praise. BTW, the actress who played the wife does a great job of making you hate her, like Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies. She also plays a lead role in the X-Men.
You weren`t wrong about the mom in the movie, every time she opened her mouth, something stupid came out of it. Had she been with her daughter at the beach she would have pushed her to go swimming with great white sharks just so that she could experience what it was like. And if her daughter gets bitten in half by one of them, "Oh well, life isn`t perfect at least we gave her some space so she could have experiences". Great reasoning.
It is essential people watch "The Sound of Freedom" to see the extent this is occurring world wide. Like Schindler's List, the movie is a hard watch, but has just as important a message to deliver. Thanks for mentioning this very important film.

There’s a very interesting movie about the underworld of Hollywood. It’s called “Eyes Wide Shut” and the reason why it’s so interesting is that Stanley Kubrick (the director) died 6 days after showing the Final Cut to Warner Bros.
The thing I loved about this film was that it just went balls to the wall kicking ass. They all deserved it, they all got wrecked - it was just a no-holds-barred spree of destruction through the bowels of a seedy underworld of exploitation and cruelty that invokes that primal rage in men and women. We all like to think if the worst happened we'd behave like Neeson, and you just love to see that street-justice clean-up take place.
I know you may have thought it was just a funny thing to say about gun fu, but there is a Christian Bale movie that actually uses it called Equilibrium, please check it out sometime.
A great movie indeed. It manages to combine the portrayal of emotion (mostly from Liam it has to be said :)) and non-stop action and hold it all together. The only thing that I think it drops the ball on is the utter lack of 'call back' to her friend dying - even bubble-wrapped rich kids have some feelings, even if they are 99% selfish SOB's.
When Sheera told Brian that his daughter should pick another career, it was because Sheera knows the ins and outs of the life she lives: being a pop star can be stressful, a lot of traveling when your on tour for months at a time, never stay in one place too long, a lot of people in your entourage making constatn demands of your attention and you hardly ever get a moment to yourself, screaming fans, CRAZY fans (like the one that came at her with the knife) ... so in that instant, her telling Brian that she should pickm another career wasnt about the competition, it was basically becayuse she knew being an idol is not all its cracked up to be beyond the glamor of it all - being famous has its downside, and it can be rough. Its not for everybody, and that's what she meant. I imagine she had amoment offscreen after the attack that Brina saverd her from where she thought "He saved my life, I gotta give him something" - so she set al that up as a form of gratitude, which makes her a realy nice person, in the end. Also Kimmy got to meet her eventually, so that's also awesome. Her dad made his daughters dream come true. I kind of imagine Sheera and Kim can bond over Bryan saving both their lives....and maybe trauma bond as well. Too bad about Amanda, though. Woulda been nice if Bryan had saved, her too, even though she was probably the most naive character in the movie besudes the mother, lol
Such a classic movie, remember watching this when I was really young . Have loved Liam Neeson ever since. Taught me young how the real worrld works. Now I carry a knife, pepper spray & a Glock ever since I was like 14 & then everyday carrying the Glock once I got my concealed carry at 21. Hyper aware every time I leave the house. Doors always locked on my house, the rest of the worlds problems aren’t mine
Mate that is sooo sad you have to live like that. I wouldn’t even dream of having to do that here in New Zealand. I don’t even lock my car to go go to the little corner store. ( don’t know what you call it over there ) it’s soo safe here in New Zealand. (Except maybe south Auckland hehe ) Kids go to school on there own here. I walk my dog at night and don’t even lock my door. So when I hear things overseas that are so bad and I’m shocked. BUT I would be watchful overseas. Definitely wouldn’t be that stupid that the girls were. Have a great day 😊
@@mariannesigley9086 that’s great for you, I live in one of the top 10 safest cities in my state, doesn’t mean I’m gonna walk around defenseless, try to fight me? Your getting pepper sprayed, knife is more of a tool to cut boxes open, tape, etc etc. & last defense if it’s life or death. Gun is the 1st tool for life or death situations. I highly doubt I’ll ever need to use any besides pepper spray but where my family is concerned I’m not taking any chances. Somebody breaks in, in the middle of the night, my alarm will be going off, they’re getting bit by my German Shepard & then shot by me. Most ppl who live around me do leave their doors unlocked bc it’s a wealthy city on an island off the coast but I’m not taking any chances. I love living in a super safe place & taking my own safety precautions on top of that. Layers of security, I’ve had the mindset since I was young of, I’ll never be a victim. The first role I ever saw Liam Neeson in was _The Bounty (1984),_ one of the mutinous crew, then the starring role in _Rob Roy (1995)._ Both would be excellent movies for your review.
Great reaction. I could tell you genuinely liked this movie. Did you know there were 2 more. One final thing regarding the comment from the lady when she made the comment about Liam being twice his size. Size has absolutely nothing to do with it. I'm not all that big & strong but I've prevailed over people in all types of sports & the occasional fight. Strategy, technique, speed & skill all play a part not just brute strength.
You guys are doing amazing job my first movie with you guys I am really enjoying your reaction commentary discussion especially on this movie I have never seen anything like this i'm a big fan of you two now keep it up ❤️👍
I haven’t seen any of the sequels but I always found it ironic how he’ll do anything to protect his daughter, his daughter wants to be a singer, he ends up being hired to protect a singer, someone tries to attack the singer, the singer tells him that his daughter shouldn’t want to be a singer, then at the end of the movie, he introduces his daughter to the singer… Holy crap my grammar is terrible. 😅
I probably don't have enough fear when i go out. I'm not an observant person by nature and i know that worries my hubby a lot. I suppose i think it won't happen to me, but i do go through my head the what ifs and what i could do or try to fight back if i were ever in a dangerous situation.
Talkin' 'bout Road Rage, this morning I've read on a Dutch news site, somewhere in the US (forgot exactly where, and the exact reason) that a driver gave the finger to person who did something wrong on the road, then that person shot the driver's wife in the head. Be safe, and don't give a finger to somebody while driving, 'cause you never know. Greetings from The Netherlands. (excuse my incoherent and bad grammatical English lol)
In my opinion this is not his best most iconic role but I can see that it is for everybody else. It's a great movie don't get me wrong....But its no Schindlers List. You should watch The Grey if you want a GOOD survival movie with Liam Neeson. Arctic plane crash survival movie with wolves.....its fantastic. Also....... I don't know the plan for further John Wick movies but oh my God. How awesome would it be if Liam Neeson popped up as one of Wicks rivals?
The government would have destroyed this organisation years ago, they have the influence, power and authority to do so. But some how these organisation still exist why because they benefit from it. How many cases have we seen where higher up government officials where on payroll of these scum of the earth. One too! Many.
Lol i love how she is surprised by the guy throwing Lian Neeson, have you seen all the female led action movies in the last five years? how these tiny women throwing 6ft big guys, 😂😂😂😂.
And the owner of the yacht bought 3 of the auctioned girls! I assume they were freed too. They were most likely grateful as well, but they never showed that storyline. And I am sure if the yacht would have gone back to where it came from it most likely would have been in the Mid-East where females have NO rights and are all assigned male Guardians their whole life who make all their decisions for them. I actually had a connection with a Man from the Mid-East who invited me there and I decided it would probably be too risky to go. I found out a woman can't even board a plane to leave there without the permission of her Male Guardian, which probably would have been him. I would probably be stuck there for the rest of my life and had to give him all my money.
The duplicity of those who love this movie Taken but speak nothing but hate for The Sound Of Freedom is very telling. They both deal with human trafficking.
20th Century Fox produced two child trafficing movies a long time ago..."Taken" and "Sound of Freedom", one was a blockbuster in 2008 and the 2nd never got released (until July 4th 2023 that is)
Don’t get me wrong, the ex-wife is absolutely awful in this movie but it seems like she had to deal with him constantly choosing work over his family and forcing her to kind of be like a single parent until she eventually leaves him. We don’t know when he moves there to be closer/spend more time with his daughter, so it could be recent. So she’s naturally very protective of her daughter because she doesn’t want him to her hurt like she felt. Granted, keeping very important information from her father and just nitpicking and nagging when it’s clear he’s making a heartfelt attempt to be a better father isn’t helpful and kind of shitty. If you’re still wanting to use Batman Begins as a springboard, I would also recommend The Prestige. A superb movie directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman and Michael Caine.
I admit, I also hated his ex-wife a lot. She was being both harsh and overprotective. However, I still didn't forget that's still her Mom, and maybe he did something (like maybe he chose work over his family I guess). Also, things with his ex-wife sort of change a little in both 2 and 3 (thank goodness). But, I do recommend checking out both parts 2 and 3.
Just apply the same standard of skepticism towards conspiracies that you do towards "main stream media", because there are a lot of people making a lot of money off of conspiracy theories.
Love the reaction and this movie is great .. but just to say, that with a normal amount of care and attention and awareness, Paris is perfectly safe to visit and enjoy, the same as the vast majority of European cities.
I noticed the same thing about the daughter. She struck me as a 30 year old trying to play a teen but she's forgotten the difference between someone 17 vs 14. 17 year olds are too cool and lazy to run for no reason..
You should watch Taken 2 next. In Taken 2, after a group of scammers in India watch Taken 1 and get impressed by Liam's amazing phone skills, they kidnap him to work for them in a scam call center in India, and his daughter has to save him.
My dad abandoned me when I was 3 and when I went to Paris my mom said “don’t get Taken cuz you don’t have a dad” 😂 but yea Paris was the scariest place I’ve been and we got robbed on the metro! We also had men follow us while we walked to our hotel it was really scary
Love how you guys just had a real discussion after the movie. My dad raised me as a single father, one thing I really respect is that he *never* said a single bad thing about my mother to me, not once.
Mine either, can't help but respect them for just being better.
This movie is a tremendous reminder why strong father figures are so important in a child’s life, particularly their daughters
Probably why many media shills hated it.
Not every father can be a Bryan Mills tho 😂
That “dad you came for me” at the end gets me too girl 😢 she delivers that line so perfectly…great movie and genuine reaction guys 👏🏾

Post credit scenes aren't a new thing, Airplane has one and that came out in 1980 and it's a comedy so it's always good to check.
You both are too cute, and also know the entertainment industry. Just subbed!
You wanna take me out it’s gonna be a challenge
Pray that Liam Neeson doesn't come to F:#*k you up. ------ Whether he's Ras Al Ghoul, Taken, Lone Wolf. or Qigon Gin. ----- When he comes, he's coming for blood. ------ Plus, he may just stick some jumper cables in your quad muscles and leave the electricity running until the bill is not paid. ------ Dude is extra savage.
Damn that was a deep ass conversation really enjoyed it happy to be a new subscriber
57:14 remember if you come to hate a character , the actor did a great job
You guys are doing amazing job my first movie with you guys I am really enjoying your reaction commentary discussion especially on this movie I have never seen anything like this i'm a big fan of you two now keep it up ❤️👍
12:30 “he hates you!”😭😭😭 had me rolling
I haven’t seen any of the sequels but I always found it ironic how he’ll do anything to protect his daughter, his daughter wants to be a singer, he ends up being hired to protect a singer, someone tries to attack the singer, the singer tells him that his daughter shouldn’t want to be a singer, then at the end of the movie, he introduces his daughter to the singer…
Holy crap my grammar is terrible. 😅
Watch the Sound of Freedom 👍
@MentallyGoneReact247 no
I probably don't have enough fear when i go out. I'm not an observant person by nature and i know that worries my hubby a lot.
I suppose i think it won't happen to me, but i do go through my head the what ifs and what i could do or try to fight back if i were ever in a dangerous situation.
What a cinema experience this was. Such a classic. Gabriella was 8 at the time 😮
14:39 That was not an iphone 🤣 almost no one had an iphone in 2008
Can't wait for you to watch Taken 2
Gabriella was really feeling this film.
44:22 my dad would of definitely said “I told you soo” Right here 😂😂😂😂
The government would have destroyed this organisation years ago, they have the influence, power and authority to do so. But some how these organisation still exist why because they benefit from it. How many cases have we seen where higher up government officials where on payroll of these scum of the earth. One too! Many.
"Maybe they wont take her" lol the movie is called "Taken"
Lol i love how she is surprised by the guy throwing Lian Neeson, have you seen all the female led action movies in the last five years? how these tiny women throwing 6ft big guys, 😂😂😂😂.
Haha😂 liam is the lion in Narnia. He is the best in Schindlers List
WE NEED A TAKEN 2 REACTION🥹🥹
The duplicity of those who love this movie Taken but speak nothing but hate for The Sound Of Freedom is very telling. They both deal with human trafficking.
I just came across your channel and I loved your reaction! Subscribed 👋😀
Gotta check the movie Nobody. 😈
Lets get it to 1 mil subs boys so we can see Gabriella turn into G.I. Jane 🙃Love the reaction as always!
24:23 translation: 'with him it won't stay this way for long, don't get fooled.'
Who actually watched a 2 hour reaction channel just watch the damn movie
Ik always talk way to damn long
You should watch Taken 2 next. In Taken 2, after a group of scammers in India watch Taken 1 and get impressed by Liam's amazing phone skills, they kidnap him to work for them in a scam call center in India, and his daughter has to save him.
Taken 3 is so bad it makes Taken 2 look like Taken.
"You already do that in traffic." Well, she IS from Jersey.
I don’t have a dad either. Never had dads are overrated all I will ever need is my mother it’s always been me and her.
I have never before wanted the hero to kill as many people as possible than I did watching this. I know how you feel.
there are two more taken movies, i think the one where the mother gets taken as well is worth watching I think was the 2nd one
Liam Niessen was good as Rob Roy..
I loss 95% of my brain cells just watching the first 5 minutes of this video.
Now i speak like these two.
My dad abandoned me when I was 3 and when I went to Paris my mom said “don’t get Taken cuz you don’t have a dad” 😂 but yea Paris was the scariest place I’ve been and we got robbed on the metro! We also had men follow us while we walked to our hotel it was really scary
You'd love a film titled " Public Enemies " It's a true story about a 1930s gangster played by Johnny Depp.
