It's not stupid at all. The original Lockdown liked to enhance and modify his body with weapons and other various gadgets. It makes sense for him to have a gun in his head.

My main problem with him is the lack of carness in the film. He barely looks like a lambo in robot form. If they had given him 2 giant lambo grills on his chest and gave him the visor for a face instead of a humanoid face id have rated it one of the best designs in the bayverse

I like Lockdown in AOE because he is a soulless, emotionless, mercenary who doesn’t care about what he’s doing unless he gets a reward out of it. He sees Autobots and Decepticons as inferior Cybertronians and mocks their war. His skull-like head and overall body shape give you the feeling he is dangerous. Not like Megatron where he looks like a monster
He is also one of my favourite TF characters also, but he isn’t really affiliated with the Cons. Sure he teams up with them and usually is one on his toys but that’s pretty much inaccurate to his character, I feel like if Hasbro ever release future toys of him then they should have his faction as bounty hunter/mercenary!
I would've liked it if one of the quotes said "YOU BRING SHAME UPON US ALL" I do like AOE lockdown but he's just Black and grey, like the protofoms except he has a different body frame, would it kill them to add a bit of green

I honestly really like his movie appearance. I really like how they had him keep his hook but in a way that just works more. I really like the visor, scope, and sniper rifle head Transformations. I swear, the only way it could've been perfect is if he had black and white makeup. And for his vehicle mode to have green windows like the visor on his mask.
When I think of Lockdown I think of a streamlined Frankenstein hook hand guy. ROTF Lockdown was my favorite Lockdown designs I mean AOE, Lockdown look unrecognizable the only thing that made him Lockdown was his knack for trophies and his retractable hook hand on his right arm
You know what we need? A ranking of all the Transformers: Universe character designs, old and originals alike. My personal favorite would be Contagion, the con who got cancelled and replaced but has a full concept of design.
i still think that lockdown was a missed oportunity for transformers earthrise with him being possibly the leader of the mercenary faction. Plus, if you add the gimmicks from both earthrise and siege he would make a nice customizable figure with the weaponizers acting as his additional blasters or slammer's treads from kingdom could double as lockdown's chainsaw blade/arm. Another reason i think he was a missed opportunity for earthrise that i hope may get fixed with legacy is that he gets updated articulation.
I like the IDW Lockdown design, It takes most of lockdown’s recognisable elements from his Animated design, but more streamlined, fitting in better with the more standard and typical transformers design aesthetic, which makes him feel more at home in the franchise
I never liked the fact that AOE made him a Lamborghini Aventador. I've always imagined him as a Dodge Challenger, probably the SRT Hellcat or a Demon variant. My other ideas for an alt-mode would be a Lincoln Continental Mk VI or a 4th Generation Ford Galexie. Both of those cars also seem extremely aggressive.
Favorite is easily finalized Animated. I also quite like early concept Animated, Transformers Adventure, Earth Wars, Cyberverse, Iron Factory car mode only, and Peanuttie.
If we ever do get another Marvel crossover with the Transformers, (Highly doubtful), They need to have a Mexican Standoff with Death's Head, Lockdown and maybe Wildwheel. Also, I would LOVE to see a return of Animated Lockdown in more modern stuff. With anything nowadays, Bots and Cons tend to be more G1 inspired, which while I don't have a problem with most of the time, LD kind of lost his classic silhouette. (The long-hunched neck, the slimness of the character, and even his gimmick where he uses parts of other Bots has been sadly lost for awhile.)

People push back on the human like designs of the later Bay films, but when the figures can pull it off (mostly from 3rd party wizards), the results are mind blowing. Unique Toys Peru Kill is a true Masterpiece.
I personally enjoyed the construct bots line, but at the same time hated how the clips always freaking broke to the point where I was paranoid letting my cousins play with them.

Everyone says Construct Bots are BIONICLE rip offs but they have more in common with Neo:Shifters. Crappy copy/paste robots with flimsy plastic and crappy alt modes.
Honestly, the earth wars and cyberverse designs don't work as lockdown for me, don't get me wrong, they're good designs, but they feel less like lockdown and more like a generic decepticon goon, I prefer the more skeletal designs, plus cyberverse making lockdown more comedic doesn't sir right with me

Lockdown's TFA toy had a very weird transformation, where the arms fused and hide in the boot (like mega octane), the legs are formed from the sides of the car, and the car roof rotates around like wheeljack (at least the Earthrise version)
The only things I don't like from AOE Lockdown designs are his face and the fact that he looks too lean (but that's a problem as a whole with the AOE designs).
The tiny turbo changer that you showed looks like a dwarf because there a step they missed in the transformation. You need to pull down the feet part. It would look much better if they did that.

A muscle car is too brash and childish for Lockdown, an aggressive, menacing Italian supercar is much more fitting
Considering how Lockdown's never been someone who likes to flaunt himself, something like the Lamorghini Aventador worked well for his low-key menace.
