So impressive, especially when you see it in person. So glad the internet gets to see this now too! Absolute gazelles, all of them. IZ, Joe, Taylor, Safa! 👏👏🥩👑
@Albi Losha bro they are doing like 15-20mph on the climb itself alot of road bikers average 20mph on a big flat ride here and if you are riding something like a mountainbike youll average like 15 mph
I love that I could hear her breathing. That's the kind of fire and will it takes to race your bike uphill and win QOM's. You are incredibly impressive, Isabel.
It's supposed to be but nowadays people break KOM's in groups so everyone else is doing it too. She even mentions it about Joe taking all the wind and he's an animal.
Damn she is freaking strong! love it!! and----- finally a girl on that road and also women watching your videos (channel) can see that we can also be as strong as the boys and keep up with them and also to bring more lightness, (c'mon, girls do that) oh I even feeling more motivated! lol Oh I like very much: "hey" to people she passes.. THAT'S class and nice. PS: Love the graphics on the right, super cool. Thank U Safa ;) U rock

This is my 2nd “SAFA Brian” video and was wondering if the great experience that I had from the first one would continue, because, it is, after all, a pretty basic concept. Cyclists cycling. But, it is so much more! It got me pumped up again, and, now I know that I need to watch these before going on my rides. It is not so basic to film correctly. The cameraman needs to know cycling and to give us the feeling of being on the ride with them. And, the Strava data tucked in the corner is tremendously helpful to get the full appreciation of the terrain. Isabelle is one fine cyclist. I am sure that the Strava was her’s and she can sustain impressive wattage. To be at 15mph when the Strava hit 8% at that point in the effort is beyond my abilities (I know. So what?) I could not tell if descending is one of her strong points, but my thoughts (based on not much) was that it is not. But, it is plenty good enough. Lastly, she shows us guys how different women cyclists are. She was encouraging riders that they passed; she was acknowledging others on the road, and, at the end she was so humble. Even though her cycling is impressive, it is her awareness and kindness toward others that makes her special. This is a trait that women seem to have that tends to elude us men. I learned something from her that had nothing to do with her considerable cycling skills. I need to stop being so laser focused on average speed and the terrain just ahead of me. Acknowledge riders that I pass on the roads? Not me. No way. But, thanks to Isabel I am going to be more aware of what is around me, and, learn that suffering isn’t all that cycling is about.
I used to ride all those climbs in the '80's and early '90's with the Marina del Rey Cycling Club. I don't remember Saddle being that developed. Iz climbs like my old friend Jonathon (who sadly is no longer with us). Out of the saddle for miles. Glad I found this. Most of your videos are hairy descents. I always liked the challenge and joy of climbing. By the way, my ex-wife lived just off Fernwood about two miles above Topanga.
Thanks for posting!! I’m a weekend warrior and will be down for a few more months due to injury. Your ride was very motivating, even through the breathing!!
@@NeoPayneHK I mean, it isn't quite the same thing if you're being towed up... she beat it by 2 mins so she definitely could have made it a team effort is all im saying
Congratulations, Isabel. Totally smashed the previous women's time. But the cameraman is the real stand-out here...incredibly steady, smooth shooting for such an exhausting climb
I... would be okay watching more climbing videos. Decent Disciples and Ascent Acolytes! I'm jealous of watching everyone riding. The wildfires up in Norcal are wild. There's one directly east to where I live and air quality is garbage. I'm counting down the days until I can get back on the road.
That hard of an effort and nobody reached down for their bottles?! 😨 wow. You all are some serious masochist’s torturing yourselves like that. She took that QOM from some heavy hitters too. Definitely a QOM to wear with pride. Sick video, Safa! Great job, Isabel!
Also, before the 'Leadout Brigade' tries to tell me otherwise, I'm pretty sure Phil Gaimon gets all of his KOMs unassisted and solo. So why is this OK?

This is like cycling heaven, where are all the cars ? And the roads so smooth .... Nice.
The Santa Monica mountains from the Palisades to Oxnard are filled with roads like this. You just have to be willing to climb. :)
I love how cordial she is. More riders should be encouraging other riders along the way.
Agreed! The 50 somethings here in Italy 🇮🇹 do the same as they pass me on the 8-10%s...I view it as an incentive to keep going!

Her breathing sounds painful
Love the LACK of music. Hearing the calls, breathing and that sweet, sweet, semi-silent sound of a tuned drivetrain can’t be beaten. Awesome work.

I watched Terry B's amazing livestream all afternoon, then as soon as he signs off, SAFA drops this for my evening entertainment.

Phenomenal effort, and out of the saddle for a lot of it. Congrats!
Honestly love this style of video with the data overlays.

Not to detract from this, but I had always assumed that KOM/QOMs were solo efforts. Is drafting common for these attempts?
It's supposed to be but nowadays people break KOM's in groups so everyone else is doing it too. She even mentions it about Joe taking all the wind and he's an animal.
I was thinking the same thing.
If you're not team time trialing with a tailwind, you may as well sell your bikes.
Always a bummer to see happen.
I was thinking that, but still a mightily impressive effort, she really did go for it!
Great video safa! Data overlay works really well
Great commentary, "Who's idea was this?" They said it would be easy, they said it would be fun.

Beautiful landscape, love to see this videos
Now lets do it with the huge benefit of the front riders draft.
This is not fair. it is supposed to be a solo effort!
Yep, easy to get KOMs when drafting.
You'd have to take most likely 80-90% of KOM/QOMs off of Strava in popular segments then.

A fully assisted QOM right here... She could have pulled through for the last couple 100m's to make it slightly more legit I feel.
Also, before the 'Leadout Brigade' tries to tell me otherwise, I'm pretty sure Phil Gaimon gets all of his KOMs unassisted and solo. So why is this OK?

What is the crank chainring size and cassette size?
Impressed with the hill climb speed.
For how hard she is breathing, her heart rate seems a bit low. This is a fantastic run!
The stats may be Safa's?
Each person has their own resting and max heart rate, so idk what you mean by "a bit low"
180 is within a normal range.
