Man, I feel bad for Kyle Larson. This whole month was all talking about Kyle Larson, attempting to run both the Indy 500 and Coke 600 in the same day. Looked fast at Indy, speeding penalty ruined finish. Flys to Charlotte, looked like the 5 car was fast even with Allgaier in it, makes it back…. and it rains and NASCAR calls the race. Absolutely brutal for Larson.
Dude led laps in the Indy 500. Hard to say that sucks don’t ya think? As days go, strapping on an Indy car for an afternoon seems basically awesome to anybody with a brain. Come on man.
My dad and I were at the Coke 600 in-person tonight and there was too many people to count who said they had NO idea why the race did not continue. There was still a huge crowd waiting for the race to continue. Everyone was super bummed and everyone started booing when the PA announcer said the race was official. If we feel bad as fans, I can’t imagine how Kyle Larson is feeling since weather affected both his races.
They said race would have went on until 3 a.m. would be too late. But I think there was more to it! NASCAR you cannot trust anymore! Always respected NASCAR as a sport but lately I am not sure!!!
In 2001 I witnessed Tony Stewart finish 6th at the Indy 500 and go on to finish 3rd at the Coke 600. He remains to be the only one to run all 1100 miles. I knew that was a big deal when I saw it. I don't think I fully realized HOW bid a deal it was. Today was a reminder.
And that was when there were far less similarities between the two. You had the much more dangerous cars that were just flying in Indy Car and the Cup Cars were unrestricted but not IRS.
@@ThatsBadTV Don't know what you truly consider as "looking human", but it was his first ever attempt at the Indy 500 and he was running 8 positions ahead of the guy that finished 2nd and almost won when he got his speeding penalty. Take out that speeding penalty and Larson had a legitimate shot at winning the race.
My brain is so conditioned to this point, when they said with like 60 laps to go that there was no more ads unless a caution, I couldn't comprehend lol
@MikeShreds. it's unreal. I have been a fan since 1992. After watching the indyvrace I seen how much nascar really feels about their fans. Well let's be real. Us fans have been getting the big number ones from nascar for years.
Fox literally came back from commercial break, just to back to commercials. The Indy 500 was such a nice race to watch, because there wasn't an ad every 5 minutes.
@@stickmanguy5583 FOX literally told NASCAR to end it. NASCAR was gonna run the race again, hence why drivers were told to report to their cars 15 minutes… shortly before they called it. FOX has got to go!
@@President_Grover_Cleveland I’d be more inclined to believe that NASCAR used the FOX thing as a smokescreen to hide the real reason for calling it: Bitch slapping Kyle Larson & Hendrick!
What boggles my mind, is how we can go nearly two hours with the guys in the Charlotte booth, yapping non-stop, talking to a bunch of different drivers, with ZERO commercial breaks... But apparently NASCAR races need commercials in the middle of green-flag racing, where we regularly miss passes for the lead, and crazy wrecks... God I can't wait for FOX's piece of the schedule to be over.
@@Redslayer86 it would be like 1am at the earliest that theyd start back going putting the finish around 3am. bs or not, they werent getting the race in last night or today.
I was there at the race myself.. I was super pissed how they ended the race.. I waited so long after the rain to be told that it wasn’t happening. I’m a huge Kyle Larson fan and I didn’t even get to see him race at the Coca Cola 600, or shall I say the Coca Cola 300 since I only got to watch half the race lol..
Ok makes sense now all the Larson haters must be libtards because you all act the same what he is upset about the most is staying at the track after wet and cold to finish a race in which his driver is expected to drive for NASCAR to call the race and leave everyone in the dark it’s common sense man I’m a supervisor at work in the back of my mind any thing we do I got to kinda know how long it takes or how long it might take to know if I can get it done with a day 2 shifts or the weekend nascar knew exactly how long it would take also they have rain tires and stuff but nascar don’t have to worry about it much longer nascar or killing nascar the same way Joe Biden is trying to kill America
@roblapouple7552 Kyle will probably have a good 15ish more opportunities to race the 600 though. While he may very well attempt the double again, the Indianapolis 500 can't be guaranteed ever again. And it's still the greatest race in the world
I was at Indy. It was the greatest thing ive ever seen. Even after the delay every seat was packed. So many pato fans were there and the whole place was going nuts the final 5 laps when pato worked his way up to first and then the Newgarden fans went nuts when he passed into 3(I was sitting in 4). It was a wild last few laps. I’m sad the people in Charlotte didn’t get to have the same experience.
@@drummerbob10 Yeah that would be great if it was actually true. People at the track have posted pictures from shortly after they announced the race was over that showed the track was nearly completely dry.
I don’t watch Indy Car for the most part but since Larson was racing I watched Indy. One thing I noticed is that Indy Car can actually pass on the track and doesn’t have to make passes in the pits. NASCAR could learn from this, but I doubt they will.
This was all ways my favorite weekend for watching races. Watch the Indy 500, Coke 600, been doing that for years. Right now I'm just very disappointed and watching classic races and Nascar youtubers to try to get my racing fix.
Eric, the first thing I did this morning was click on your channel to find out what happened last night. OOTG is the best. We have sparred in the past over your videos and don't always agree but you read your comments and respond to your viewers. With the demise of The Hub your channel is going to sky rocket more than it already has. Keep up the good work. If NASCAR fans are the hardest working as you say, you are the hardest working content maker for us NASCAR fans. A huge shout out to YOU! Thank you for your channel.
I was at the Coca-Cola 600 yesterday, and it was one hell of a storm that came through. I was hopeful they could get it restarted so I waited around but the weather won this time.
He actually lead at Indy yesterday. It was in a pit schedule for everyone but he will be in the books as the leader for several laps. Crazy how he got there just as they pulled in the pits at Charlotte for the red flag. Hate it for him.
Yep i was there in Charlotte. Was having a hell of a time until the rain. I was so pissed that they didn’t start it up after waiting over an hour. But hey, going to a race is always fun.
Yea but why hell make race so late .. so idiots can watch Indy ... FFS full race could be run if started earlier .. besides no excuse for not running the rest of the race after drying track or noon on Monday
They've never ran on Monday if the race was past the halfway point. They only run on Monday if they can't run at all on sunday...or if it rains before halfway. It's always been that way...don't see them changing it now.
I’m from Ohio I drove down to watch this race it was my first time being at Charlotte MS 😭 it definitely sucks when you spend so much money and only get to watch the Coke 349
Kyle larson did great! He lead laps ! And had pace to run up front. Wow that was so awesome to see! His first green lap pit at over 220 mph 😳, just a little too much enthusiasm. I was amazed to see him get back up to 18th, from third car lap down ! Kyle larson gave a hell of a shot! That's all you can ask for! Try again!
I understand that NASCAR will grant him a waiver but... they need to do something about the rule. I honestly dont know what a driver will need to do to not get granted a waiver. So either do away with the rule all together or make it somewhat more clear because this is an example of a driver not wanting to race because they wanted to do something else more which makes it real hard for NASCAR to stand on anything if they decided to not grant a waiver down the line.
Was at the track. Pit road was dry , victory lane was dry , the road and sidewalk out front were drying ( without any jet dryers ), and the track itself had no water on it and there was tons of dry spots. Sat there for close to two hours without any updates to then have it get cancelled.
Just got home from the race. Everyone was so pissed off at nascar for pissing this one away! Turn 4 was actually DRY. It would’ve been 30 more minutes and we wouldn’t been clear. Get this. The tundra running the safety crew checked fuel in the fleet… the SINGLE jet truck had only 45 minutes of fuel. THATS WHY THEY CALLED IT! They only had ONE jet with 45 minutes run time!
Best show Eric. Disappointing results for Kyle but huge impact all around even for non Kyle fans. Your passion for your love of NASCAR shone through. I am old and from Australia and have followed racing all forms in the States but particularly Nascar. Well done.
Let’s be real fans would’ve hated whatever outcome was decided for this race: * They call it before the rain stops so fans aren’t waiting? Well the forecast was looking better they just didn’t even want to try. * They continue racing tomorrow if the weather allows them to despite being over halfway? They’re breaking their own rules just for Larson and Hendrick and now this opens up a new can-of-worms. Bell possibly gets robbed of a win too if he doesn’t end up winning. I’m just as bummed as everyone else but this wasn’t as egregious as many fans are making it out to be, they’re just upset and taking it out online. At least they actually tried to wait out the rain. Appreciate the perspective in this video I agree with most of it though.
Yep even some people with the usual go woke go broke pointless comments like there has been for the past 4 years for no fucking reason at all it's just people seeking attention because their families won't give it to them
Great reporting Eric, the best on YTube. I watched all 3 races, F1, Indy, and NASCAR. F1 never had a lead change, typical race for F1. The Indy race was maybe the best one I have ever watched. Multiple changes for the lead. I was getting up this Monday morning to see what time NASCAR had scheduled the race to resume today, then I read where it was all over. I am 73, been a NASCAR fan since I was a kid. Saw a Bristol race when there was only two concrete stands, maybe the third year it was open. Fireball Roberts, Freddy Lorenzen, J Johnson, Richard Petty were all in that race. I was a kid that loved it. NOW, I am getting disappointed with the current NASCAR. Finish the race NASCAR,
There were tornado warnings in northern Illinois, and FOX decided to waste 45 minutes of my time showing the same weather graphics. I don't even live in northern Illinois. I missed the end of stage 1 and half of stage 2 because of it.
It definitely pisses off we set there for 2 hours waiting for the race to go back green like they said they had planned before it rained. Hell there were light grey spots that were dry all over the track and the dryers were still running. Also they never start by drying the pit road first like they did last night, they always dry the track first and get the cars off pit road then finish with drying pit road. It's like they never wanted to try to get the race back under green. Absolutely BS
I am so disappointed. I thought I would get up to a finished race or continue today. Justin did a fantastic job. I feel so bad for Kyle. He spent so much time flying back and forth and the pressure put on him. So mad it wasn't finished. I bet the fans are even more mad. I'm in a bad mood too!
I would love to see JRM break into the cup series with Allgier behind the wheel. Might be able to grab one of those SHR charters and with a tight alliance with Hendrick, could be fun to watch!
As a NASCAR fan. As soon as Indy got rain delayed. I focused 100% on Indy and didn't even think about Charlotte. Best day ever what a race. If Larson hadn't missed that shift and got that pit road penalty. He would have been in contention for the win. Mind boggling
LMAO no he was never in contention. You Nascar fans are hilarious. I love how your two excuses are things he messed up on lmfao. "If the quarterback wouldn't of thrown the game losing interception, he would have won the game" Is basically what you just said. Delusion, 18th place and people are saying he was close hahahahahahahahhahahahahaha
@@justatroll8916 did you even watch the race? He was running up front all day? Even after he missed that shift he was able to pick up a few spots. Relax bud. He had a fast car. Its Indy, anyone up there has a chance. I'm coming back to this post after he steals your trophy next year 😃
the difference between Dixon and Larson is, Dixon enterd the pitlane to fast. Larson forgot to engage the pitlane speed limiter button on his steering wheel until after he passed the pitlane entry line. Nascar fans forget a Nascar is 10 years behind modern race car technology. Most race car series around the world use an Electronic Engine Management System that allows engine mapping to increase boost, fuel settings etc and limit the speed of the car entering pitlane for safety reasons. Larson didn't know how to use his buttons on the steering wheel and forgot a shift as he isn't familiar with a paddle shift lever on the steering wheel, a common element in a modern race car. If Larson races the indy 500 next year he will struggle to understand the Hybrid system Indycar will have in the cars next year. He will have to push a button on the steering wheel multiple times to receive extra HP based on the stored battery engery the car will generate. If you listen to Shane Van Gisbergen, he has said going to Nascar was like stepping into the 1930s as you have no modern race technology available including having to watch your RPM gage to limit engine RPM when on pit road compared to an Australian supercar were you hit a button on the steering wheel to engage the pitlane speed limiter.
Once again this just Proves my Point, Halfway is not a Good Marker it needs to be 2/3. How can you call a Race Complete at HALFWAY Congress Requires a 2/3 (Which is Considered an Actual Majority) and we should too.
Or at least make it a case by case basis. 151 laps to go at CHARLOTTE the home track when the next day is a holiday anyway. Just finish it Monday, I mean 151 laps is longer than the truck race and 75% of the xfinity race
Kyle staying late to run the Indy 500 was a no brainer. As a NASCAR fan I was more excited to see what he was gonna do in the Indy car than at the coke 600. The coverage of him traveling back to charlotte and suit to get in the car was very cinematic.
You know what. At least it had some decent racing, even if it didn't go the full distance. The Monaco GP actually sucked for the whole thing, and I say that as a European. Indy was definitely the star of the day though. We had a prediction game on a Discord server since there were so many big races. I don't normally watch NASCAR, but I watched this and enjoyed it while it lasted. Might have to catch a few more of these.
It's a very hot take, but I think Monaco should either become a non-championship exhibition using smaller purpose-built cars, or the Monaco part of the triple crown moves to Formula E. The Formula E race at Monaco is amazing, and shows how much better the racing can be with slower and smaller cars
I missed the the previous 30-40 laps before the rain delay. My fox station switched over to local station because of tornado warnings. I maybe only got to watch 180-200 laps, super disappointed, can't even imagine how bad the fans at the track feel.
I think the worst part of all this is we waited for hours for the race to start back up, the track looks dry but then NASCAR calls it for high humidity... That has to be the stupidest reason to cancel a race I've ever seen. Maybe the humidity really was so bad that it was impossible to dry the track, but I've never seen or heard of that ever happening before, and you could tell during Bell's interview the fans disagreed with NASCAR as well, boos nearly drowned Bell out.
It sure was fun dozing off at 12:30, waking up at 2:30 wondering if the race was still going, suddenly seeing Young Sheldon re-runs on Fox, and then finding out online that it never restarted. We couldn't even see Larson pull off a 725-mile Memorial Day single-and-five-eights. Well at least the Indy 500 was yet again an instant classic. (And it is cool that Leclerc won Monaco even if I don't know who in their right mind would watch that race, especially when the only interesting part was a lap 1 circus)
Personally I don't understand the prestige and hype about the Indy 500 but it's something Kyle said he always wanted to do. I hate that they gave up all those points yesterday but those making the decision are smarter than me so I guess we'll just have to see how it goes from here.
i know i feel for you I’m a keselowski fan too and this would have been his second win this season and Justin allgaier did a good job of helping out while Larson was at Indy and allgaier finished 13th
NASCAR should have finished this race today! It's the Coke600, it's suppose to be a long race to test the drivers and the machines. Yep, I feel your frustration as well. I'd give this race an "I" for incomplete.
This was some of the best racing this year and they called it!! Most of us have tomorrow off and they could have ran the rest tomorrow but why!!! Did they end it!!!???
I was definitely dissatisfied with the way the day went … I think I’m more upset that I have to just deal with it and that there’s nobody to really blame
I disagree saying “Larson blew off the 600”. From the start, HMS and Kyle intended to run both races. They incurred tons of costs in staff, planning, helicopters, and planes to make it happen. It didn’t work out in the end. But they made every effort to show up.
Idk why people thought they were going green again. The second they pulled the cars down pit road, I figured it was over. It was past halfway. I can't remember a time it rained this late and a race wasn't called. Considering they waited as long as they did, you could tell they didn't want to. But crap happens sometimes. Weather sucked all over the place. Big bummer
Lets not forget in 2004 Rick Hendrick lost people he loved in an airplane crash. There was no way he was going to risk the weather causing another with his star driver and himself and various others aboard. Being cautious and not flying and risking people's lives is something that should be applauded. Give Kyle the waiver for that reason, not because he's important to the series or a star.
Being at the track was awesome all weekend, xfinity race was awesome and the start to this race seemed like we might be in for a historic moment. Wished they would have told us sooner as I spent 2 hours waiting and didn’t get home till 2 in the morning but still great event even if we are all disappointed with how the day went.
I would hope Allgaier would drive for a Chevy team and not a Ford. It would also be awesome if he raced in Cup if Junior could get a charter and RCR let him have the 8 since Jr. just got rights to his 8 font from DEI.
It's obviously a joke but Allgaier would never leave JRM for a mid field or worse cup team. He already experienced that in 2014/2015. He wants to win races, not be a field filler.
2:32 to answer your question Eirc .... I beleive so, in 2001 at Rockingham, after the Daytona 500, they raced on the Sunday until rain showers forced the race to be completed on monday although that race didn't go past the halfway point ... but still
This just made the Indy series seem more professional this weekend. More serious than nascar. The Indy series production was light years above nascar. Larson would be a star in the Indy series. He had a legit chance.
Actually as quickly as that race was progressing they had two and a half hours already ran and well over halfway they had maybe another hour and 40 minutes left.@@marcforget33
I’d like to see Kyle just focus on solely the 500 next year.. the excess fan fare around the “double” was just getting ridiculous the way the media beat it into the ground.
your curiosity for curfew ad all that, I live 5 minutes from the track(I can see it from inside the house) there is no noise restriction, curfew anything like that, so from that perspective they could have raced, BUT regarding the drivers and the time frame it would have ended im sure nascar wouldn't have wanted them to be racing from about 6pm-3am, that's absurd.
That...was my first race.... the disapointment... is unreal. Thank you mother nature for killing it...And man, nascar should've called it when it started raining, not to tell us "we'll get them driers out there and go back green". So yeah, first race and very disapointing...
As a Larson fan, I feel for all my fellow fans that showed out at Charlotte. Took time off maybe, bought tickets, and traveled there, only to never get to see him turn a lap.
@@letsroll492 true. But I’m talking about the driver that stayed at the biggest event of his life with a top 5 car. I’m talking about his everyday joes and Jill’s that payed to see him. Talking about the fans.
If there is a town curfew around the track, I understand it. If there really was humidity in effect, fine. That's infuriating. But whatever. If Fox made the call and said to call the race (Joe Gibbs apparently was told drivers would be called to their cars in 15 minutes), then NASCAR needs to get out of their TV contract with them as soon as the checkered flag flies at Sonoma, because that's completely unacceptable to be thrown to the side for local news. If your coverage network doesn't respect one of your crown jewel events and chooses local midnight news over it, then they don't respect your sport enough to be chosen to cover it for four months, history be damned. I love Mike and Larry, and I hope they continue to be a part of the coverage of the sport, but I hope it's on a better network than this one. The quality of broadcasts have gone down, camerawork has gotten worse, the graphics haven't been changed despite the outcry to do so, etcetera. I love that Fox has covered the sport for over 20 years and has stayed committed to it, but the boiling point has been reached. Just a really annoying weekend, and to call it disappointing would be an understatement.
Nascar doesn’t have any races that are more important than any other. Crown Jewels are a thing of the past. Daytona is meaningless lottery now and coke 600 is nothing more than a normal 1.5 mile race.
He did atleast show up at Charlotte... even after the long rain delay... and the Indt 500...he just brought the rain with him to Charlotte... I think Hendrick just wants a chance to beat Penske in the Penske House Now. and guess who won A Penske Car and what a last 3 laps. 🏁 wish we got to see a Finish tonight in Concord.
On Sunday late afternoon and into the evening; in the St Louis area we experienced several thunderstorms; which had our local stations preempt the last 120 laps of the 500 and the 1st two stages of the 600. We were all totally bummed. 🙁
Never seen you so hangdog Eric but can relate ! I live in Michigan and can’t count how many races I’ve attended that got rained out and had to finish on Monday which I had to miss cause of work. But still here cause it’s the greatest sport out there!! Cheer up! It’ll be alright!!
If nascar rained out the 03 Daytona 500, just barely pass 50% than we couldn't have thought this race was going to continue. I believe most people was disappointed, because even during the broadcast they never made it seem like the race was going to get rained out. But like Eric said, the race would've probably ended around 3a.m and that is asking a bit much. Nascar did truly try to get the race back dry in a responsible time.
Of course he’s gonna get a waiver. People like him aren’t the reason NASCAR has this rule. It’s so people like SVG or Xfinity drivers don’t switch to a full season schedule if they get a win.
It happens, and after halfway, its official if they choose to call it. Ive been to 40 races, so the occational rain shortened event isnt a big deal in the big picture
He forgot to push the pitlane speed limiter button on his steering wheel. Larson was always going to struggle at indy in a modern race car using modern race car technology. He had to ask his race engineer what the sway bar button did on his steering wheel and missed a shift on a restart as he isn't use to using a paddle shift lever on a steering wheel. If he races indy next year he will struggle again in a modern race car as Indycar will have a hybrid system in the cars. He will have to understand when to push a button on the steering wheel to use extra HP based on the generated electric battery power the car will store. Nascar fans need to understand Nascar is 10 years behind modern race car technology that is used commonly around the world in motorsport categories and their is a very big difference in a Nascar steering wheel with only a radio button and a modern race car steering wheel with 6-8 buttons available to control everything from fuel mapping, to pitlane speed via an Electronic Engine Management System.
I was at Darlington a few years back when the race didn’t start until 11pm due to rain. Race finished a little after 2am. They should have finished the race.
It sucks, but they can't win either way they go. I've seen them make the call the other way, and it turned out worse. There was a long rain delay at Kansas years ago, and they made the questionable decision to restart the race with more rain in the area. Cost Tony Stewart the win after he wrecked on the wet track after they restarted the race.
Nascar Hands was tie because of FOX, so this was FOX's call then a Nascar and as far as INDY 500 on Kyle Larson, that was more of Jeff Gordon's call on Prioritize over the Coca Cola 600 and plus Jeff Gordon decided to cancelled Tony Kanaan as a relief driver.
I don't think Kanaan was going to drive as he hadn't done a refresher test before the race. The main possibility going around the paddock was that McLaren would've had Nolan Siegel in the #17 if Larson went to Charlotte.
@@dominicbarden4436 and I don't think Jeff Gordon didn't want Noah Seigal to do it either, that's why Kyle Larson hands was tie by Jeff Gordon, so more likely it was Jeff Gordon's call over McLaren.
I mean, the rule is technically that all drivers must "attempt" all 36 races. The rule exists so drivers that attempt a race but maybe qualify 41st and miss the show still are eligible. Kyle ran practice and *did* make a qualifying run, so I'd argue he made his attempt to race
I feel bad for Larson. He went through nearly a 5 hour weather delay and now came back to charlotte for no reason. Man I’m tired of weather ruining everything. This is the 5th race already that weather has come
Watched the 500, and can confirm - Larson was fantastic. Qualified top 5, ran up front almost all day, led laps and made some great passes. He was a legit threat to win, AS A ROOKIE at the Indy 500. That's insane. You can say the speeding penalty was a rookie error, but it's also a very easy mistake to make - Scott Dixon is a six-time Indycar champion, former 500 winner & legend of the sport, and he blew a shot to win the 500 in exactly the same way. So no shame in making such a minor mistake as a rookie. He did great. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm a lapsed NASCAR fan & haven't followed regularly for years, but - will it really hurt Larson that much to miss one race? Given Kyle Busch once missed like 10-12 races with a broken leg, got a playoff waiver and still won the Cup? It sucks of course, but there's no way NASCAR doesnt grant a waiver - especially as the weather was the main reason he missed the 600.
3 day weekend could of easily restarted the race at like 10, 11am eastern time. The race was shaping up to be crazy. Then they ended the race. The waiver I get it but is it wrong yes. This is NASCAR though. Most don't work tomorrow in the US.
I was sitting in t1, and the track was completely dry. I dont know what happened, but it wasnt humid at all. The announcers also said that it would be underway in 2 hours, but instead we waited 2 hours only to be called when the track was dry
Obvious fix you know weather is coming. Start the race earlier. Doing all those pre race festivities. It's their own fault do better. If you Start that race a hour maybe a hour and a half earlier it gets finished.
When they parked the cars for rain and Lighting, they should have just called the race. (I went to bed I knew they would call it). Indy was very good the Coke 400 was fair Monoco was Monoco!
I've never paid attention to the indy 500 until this year. I'm a ford racing fan. But something about Larson you can't help but like. He's a great driver and seems like a good guy
You are absolutely right. I think the cars are just too big now to have even a mediocre race at Monaco. The race is decided on Saturday during qualifying.
If some driver wants to enter a badminton tournament the same day as a NASCAR saturday evening race......and for some reason cannot make it back in time to run the NASCAR race does that driver get a wavier? I ask because they seem to have now set a prescient on these extra-curricular activities and anything should qualify.
It was the greatest disappointment in racing alright! I almost made the choice to Live Streamed my Reactions to the 600 on TikTok and I’m glad I didn’t. Rained over here in Ohio too but at least my excuse based on my TikTok/TH-cam schedule of events is *Get it out of the way before the Spring to Summer transition next weekend* and hell, even my sister had rain in her area today too. It was a brutal ass day for sure! Well said Eric! If I go to Phoenix next Fall for the Championship, I hope I get to meet you in person again
This day sucked. There was so much build up to today and I’m just left here wanting so much more. Calling this race at early killed it. I really wish NASCAR could have decided to run the remainder of the race tomorrow, or at least tried……
Nascar needs to make a new policy change on crown jewels event that if it is inclement weather and it don't get completed even if it is over halfway then they need to finish the race for the fans sake instead of the race to be official crown jewel event wise.
Exactly,if I recall the Daytona 500 2014 had rain delay 4 or 5 hours didn't finish race til midnight or after..why not with coke 600 world 600 as use to call it.
@@marcforget33 In fact halfway rule should not apply to all crown jewel events period so Nascar needs to make a new policy change on that part including Daytona 500, Coke 600, Brickyard 400 & Southern 500 & Street Course as well.

So what's that have to do with the damn weather that screwed Larson

Wow you're dumb they hand plenty of commercials during the rain delay
Never in my life have I heard about humidity affecting the decision to call the race
We've had fog as the deciding factor before
Had the humidity problem at our local track years ago. It happens.
They race in Florida, sounds like bs lol

I’m a huge Kyle Larson fan and I didn’t even get to see him race at the Coca Cola 600, or shall I say the Coca Cola 300 since I only got to watch half the race lol..
Blame Kyle for going to stupid fkn Indy .. all the other NASCAR drivers got to run a few laps ..
Kyle chose Indy fans over NASCAR fans.
Kyle choosing Indy over Charlotte was the right decision though.
Fox couldn't wait for those Big Bang re runs. Never in the 35 years of watching Nascar have I heard humidity as an excuse.
To be fair, Humidity could affect the ability to dry the track.
@@drummerbob10 Yeah that would be great if it was actually true. People at the track have posted pictures from shortly after they announced the race was over that showed the track was nearly completely dry.
If it's raining or has rained it's humid. Sounded strange. They should have just said we don't have time to dry the track.
I think the issue was the track not being dry until past midnight. Then having to race a few more hours.
I don’t watch Indy Car for the most part but since Larson was racing I watched Indy. One thing I noticed is that Indy Car can actually pass on the track and doesn’t have to make passes in the pits. NASCAR could learn from this, but I doubt they will.
I told my dad they need to give Cup cars back their horsepower. Indy sucks for NASCAR, but if you give them power, they can pass even there.
@mitchallmcfarland3385 IndyCar is awesome, probably the best professional series on pavement right now.

I was there, too, and it sucked.

Buddy, you do a great job. I always watch your post-race show before I go to work the next day spouting off my own assessment of the race. Thank you.
Well done.
Let’s be real fans would’ve hated whatever outcome was decided for this race:
* They call it before the rain stops so fans aren’t waiting? Well the forecast was looking better they just didn’t even want to try.
* They continue racing tomorrow if the weather allows them to despite being over halfway? They’re breaking their own rules just for Larson and Hendrick and now this opens up a new can-of-worms. Bell possibly gets robbed of a win too if he doesn’t end up winning.
I’m just as bummed as everyone else but this wasn’t as egregious as many fans are making it out to be, they’re just upset and taking it out online. At least they actually tried to wait out the rain.

the difference between Dixon and Larson is, Dixon enterd the pitlane to fast.

Idk why people thought they were going green again. The second they pulled the cars down pit road, I figured it was over. It was past halfway. I can't remember a time it rained this late and a race wasn't called. Considering they waited as long as they did, you could tell they didn't want to. But crap happens sometimes. I would hope Allgaier would drive for a Chevy team and not a Ford. It would also be awesome if he raced in Cup if Junior could get a charter and RCR let him have the 8 since Jr. just got rights to his 8 font from DEI.
For that, Jr has to be a hard-@$$ on Richard to prevent another witch from forming
It's obviously a joke but Allgaier would never leave JRM for a mid field or worse cup team. He already experienced that in 2014/2015. He wants to win races, not be a field filler.

Fans had unrealistic expectations for Larson at Indy. He was very competitive and finished. That's a success to me.
I mean, he had a top 5 in the bag, if he didn't get the speeding penalty
Take away the penalty he was top 5
Surprise sponsors are not jumping on the Kyle Larson train. Is it because of what he said in 2020? Sponsors still wont back him?
I’m always going to say Kyle’s last name like the Indy commentator 😂. Kyle Lawsen, truly a crazy experience to watch him race in Indy.
I mean, the rule is technically that all drivers must "attempt" all 36 races. The rule exists so drivers that attempt a race but maybe qualify 41st and miss the show still are eligible.
Kyle ran practice and *did* make a qualifying run, so I'd argue he made his attempt to race
I think they changed to must start every race.
"Their was no climax." - That's what she said.
😂
There not their…😂
@@NEO_RedPill_2024 Where?
I was sitting in t1, and the track was completely dry. I dont know what happened, but it wasnt humid at all. The announcers also said that it would be underway in 2 hours, but instead we waited 2 hours only to be called when the track was dry
I went to the race, first 600 since 2011. I’m so disappointed I waited 2 hours just for them to call it.
When NBC did everything possible to accomodate the Indy 500, yet Fox couldn't be bothered to do the same for the Coke 600
@@S.K.R.E.Inc. Fox moment
Great video. I definitely appreciate the work you put in.
I mean it was great watching Charles win Monaco at his home track. Since he had been on pole three times and DNFd each time prior to today.
I've never paid attention to the indy 500 until this year. I'm a ford racing fan. But something about Larson you can't help but like. He's a great driver and seems like a good guy
They had rain everywhere apart from the one race that needed it (monaco)
I was there. The humidity thing was bs. It was like 70 degrees after the rain and the track was halfway dry when they called it.
There’s no way Larson and Rick didn’t have the clear for a waiver before making the decision.
100% agree on that.
Nascar changes the rules for certain teams, Shouldn't get a waiver.
0:55 Agreed. Excited for Kyle but what a bummer that the Double was spoiled. Also excited about the Indy 500 finish and equally bummed for O’Ward
This day sucked. There was so much build up to today and I’m just left here wanting so much more. Calling this race at early killed it. I really wish NASCAR could have decided to run the remainder of the race tomorrow, or at least tried……
Try being at the race and getting soaked.
The halfway rule should not apply to the Coke 600. It's an endurance race and there was over 2 hours left. They can run the rest on memorial day ffs
