- Corentin Moutet beat local favourite Nicolas Jarry in quarter-finals of the Santiago Open (ATP 250) and there were some fun and spicy moments between the French player and the Chilean crowd but at the end a great speech from the world number 140.

I am not a big fan of Moutet. However I don’t understand why some people think underarm serve is not fair play or it is ugly or insulting. What is the difference between drop shot during the rally and underarm serve? In fact, it is quite risky.
Yeah, I have also never understood the problem with the underarm serve.

There is no problem with that just that underarm serve is considered to be an unprofessional behaviour by most players out there. While it isn't forbidden by any rule an unwritten one says that you shouldn't use this kind of serve out of respect for your opponent's effort of serving with a toss

I think Moutet is very entertaining and he made a good point in his speech. Local favorite didn’t win and the crowd was sad. Don’t take it out on the opponent.

El Francés Moutet pide respeto pero cuando Jarry fue cuestionado por doping y que finalmente le dieron 11 meses de suspensión este Francés fue el que cuestionó a Jarry y a la federación de tenis el poco castigo que le dieron ... de ahí nació el enojo de los hinchas chilenos contra él.

Debes ser difícil encontrar una excusa para cada comportamiento antideportivo de los chilenos (tanto público como organizadores y hasta jugadores) ya que no parecen esporádicos. No creo que esa haya sido la causa ni que justifique el comportamiento del público, pero buen intento.

Al contrario dije "no parecen esporádicos", eso significa que parece que hay comportamientos antideportivos regularmente, por ejemplo me acuerdo los hechos en la Copa Davis que causaron la sanción a Chile por la ITF en 2016.

Interesting what moutet said but the same respect is not given to a non French player when they play in his home country of France. Perhaps Moutet could give a similar speech to his own crowd next time when they are in France and ask them to respect his opponents.
