Today we take a look at the newly released Nitto Recon Grapplers and how they are holding up after their first 5,000 miles. Let us know what you guys think about these Recon Grapplers, and if they are the best tire in Nitto's lineup. If anyone of you guys is running a set and have quite a bit more miles on them, let us know how they are holding up and if you would pick up these tires again.

You first introduced me to these tires and I have loved them (had them approximately 6 months now). I have a 2021 Ram 1500 with 22in rims and the tires that came with the truck wore out pretty quickly. I replaced them with the Nitto Recon Grappler 305/45R22 and they filled up the space so much better (did not rub), looks so much better, performs so much better in the rain plus a great smooth ride. Great tire! Thank you!

Not only this, but often overlooked characteristics of truck tires people are ignorant or simply ignore is Max PSI matching for HD trucks and/or Speed rating. These have an R rating in the 35 and 37 inch. That's great and very unique. Now if they could just be 80psi for HD trucks (only when applicable) but the quality construction to be able to as well as "up to 106mph" instead of only 99mph is bigger than people realize.
Oh yes, the 50 or 55k warranty is great as well

I do want some. The ridge grapplers do hum but not the worst I've had. Would you think they are better or worse in snow or slicker roads? The ridge grass are great in deep snow/dirt roads but not so much on slick paved roads. Will nitto ever make a good 3peak?

    • @jamesnm21

Go with the Falken wildpeak AT3W if you want a cool looking 3 peak tire. Or look at the Firestone X/T. Both have full depth sipes and 3 peak rating. I could deal with the noise but but this tire is so significantly bad I had to have a set removed after just 475 miles. Ram 2500 HD Cummins was all over the road. I have to classify this tire as DANGEROUS. After a 302 mile stretch of driving I parked the vehicle until I could have my tire pro change back to BFG All Terrain A/T which was my previous tire on the same truck. All problems resolved not that the set has been replaced. I implore people to reconsider if looking at purchasing this tire. This sounds like a paid advertisement from Nitto/Toyo.
