This is the size and type I went with on my 21 trail boss. My snow chains still fit too
They look great for street and highway but do you think they will rub off-road when your suspension is working and tire is moving a lot more in different directions?
It’s what I’m looking for but I may hit a back road here and there. And if they would run do you think a spacer would correct that?
Best video out there. Thanks
Thanks this is exactly what I was wondering. If you aren’t hauling heavy shit, you can also get the same exact tire in the XL load range option rather than the LT. softer rubber more comfortable ride, etc. and WAYYY cheaper ($290 vs $410 each).
Good Video my man, just subbed!
So in plain English the maximum tire size you can put on a stock 20” rim is 275/65 20 fits on a stock 2020-2023 trail boss.
Yes stock means no additional lift leveling or spacers. Stock means stock. With of course the stock 20” rim option not the stock 18” rims.
Most places around here charge $20 per tire mounting fee.
thanks for the rundown. Very helpful. Ever run across a tire and wheel weight comparo? Seems like the OEM 20" tire on the TrainBoss and AT4 is a one of a kind lightweight item that is not replicated by other manufacturers.
Great video, where did you get those calipers covers?
Are those caliper covers? If so, did you add spacers?
Man, I really appreciate the video, we all want to push the limit and go max size right! My trail boss came with 265/60R20. I want to get a leveling kit on top of the factory 2 inch lift and see what the max tire size I can go with the 20’s. Hopefully you do that next hahaha. Oh, rid the flaps and get fender flares - you’ll thank me later! Thank you again for the video!
I have a 2022 GMC Sierra AT4.Just had new tires put on.The Radar Renegade
R/T+ in a 295/70/28 size mounted on a 18 inch wheel that had a +24 offset. Also had a 1.75 inch Rough Country level kit installed which eliminated the factory rake…Incredibly pleased with how it turned out.
Any pics?
@@markkraska9154 yep but can’t post them on TH-cam
22 Refresh TB. I went with a 295/60 R20 and have no rubbing whatsoever. This is about a 34” tall tire with a wider profile than the 275/65 or 285/65 used in this video.
This video was confusing for me as well bc I’ve run bigger tires with no rubbing issues… until I realized he doesn’t have stock rims… they’re replicas w/ different rim width and offset. Looked like he was running spacers but you don’t get poke like that with 275’s and no spacers.
@@dewaltcane I am pretty sure these are the stock 20” rims as I have the same ones on my TB. @TruckOwnership101 please confirm your wheels are stock GM and if you have any spacers as I am looking to do this same setup.
any pics of yours? thats my plan too
Just buy your tires locally like at Discountv tires and you won't have to worry about eating the cost due a tire not fitting. That is the smart way to do it!
Bruh can i put for tahoe 2020,
285 60 r20 without lifting?
Would the 285 have fit if you had a 3½ lift??
The trail is has a two inch lift from factory. So I’m guessing on a RST it would need to be smaller.
What size tires did you have from the factory? I have a 2023 Silverado RST and came with 275/60/R20 tires and appears to have plenty of room for another inch of tire. Thanks
Your thoughts on your B&W Tow and Stow Hitch? Have you done a review video on the hitch ball system? Thanks for your channel and your videos.
Im overall very happy with it. I came from a fixed hitch setup so their is a bit more play in this one. You notice that with a springy empty trailer bouncing around pulling up on the hitch. Once you have some tongue weight it’s just like any other hitch. Love always having the correct setup on me. Here is a vid I made 2 years ago about it: th-cam.com/video/tC-ctzhMu6s/w-d-xo.html
Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285 75 r18 with a 2-in ready lift 2.0 give you a total of 4 in on the trail boss 1/4😊inch wheel spacers no rubbing looks badass gives you 2 inches more height which is a 35 by 11 and 1/2 tire size
Do you think I can do the same on 2023 Tahoe?
mannnn I put some 295/70R18's on my AT4 and I cannot believe how much slower the truck is now hahaha no joke it feels like its working twice as hard accelerating and going up hills!!!
Do u have level kit on it?
I would put longer flaps on the front. When I switched tires I got tons of rock chips.
Did you go with a wider tire or an offset that poked out more? I was afraid of rock chips by going wider then factory.
How are these tires in the rain and snow?
I have nitto ridgegrapplers 285 70 18s with 1.25 spacers without rubbing. 33.98 inch diameter
Is there a particular forum that you’d recommend? I’d like to know the same information for an ‘18 Silverado Z71 that I just bought with 10k miles. Looks great IMO
Either a Facebook group of your body style, or google “custom offsets” that site has a lot of stet-ups with 3rd party wheels (rims) with lots of offset info.
What load range and psi
so a Non trail boss, but a truck that has a 2 inch leveling kit, with 20 inch factory wheels, this setup would work? I have a LT trim. if you dont know, they do make mud flap delete plastic pieces that fit in where the original mud flap was.
They should. Actually my next video will replace those splash guards with some cool actual mud flaps that use that color matched plastic part. Hoping it gives me that last bit of clearance you need to run these tires with zero rub. 🤞
U think it would rub with 2 spacers?
Are those mirrors stock? Or from Boost Auto? Thanks & great video
Boost! Got a whole video about them if you check the channel out :)
Are you running any spacers on you truck with your Ridge Grapplers?
Nope. Just did a tire swap.
Any rubbing on the control arm with the 285 width? Was thinking 285/60r20 for a slightly smaller diameter.
Also fyi my tire place will mount a tire and if it doesn’t fit they don’t charge you. I think that rule of “no refunds once they’re mounted” only applies if you buy them online and bring them into the shop.
So your saying a 275/65/ 20 does not fit without trimming.
Just did the same thing to my 2020, but 18" stock rims. Running, Falken Wildpeak at3w 275/70R18 10 ply tire
Yup those are the biggest tires you can run for 18” wheel. I went with nitto recon grapplers.
I'm planning on getting this exact set. Is your truck stock? Are you experiencing any rubbing?
Are you running a stock set up? I wanted 20” but I’m thinking a meatier tire on 18’s would be a better ride
@@lawdawg5823did you go with the same size as above? You running without a leveling kit?
@@georgehernandez1502 I’m running a ready lift 1.75” leveling kit. But you’ll be fine without one.
I find that the Nitto Ridge Grappler 35" are terrible on wet roads. Does any one else find this to be true?
Zero issues for me. I pulled a 7,000 pound camper in a downpour and it went great. Maybe the weight helps? Hard time believing these tires could hydroplane with decent tread.
Agree. Worst tires I’ve ever run in the rain. Other than that they were great
I went to repurchase some Terra Grappler G2 but couldn’t find them. When I said I was going to get the NItto Ridge Grapplers my buddies that run them said don’t buy them for the same reason you said.
I'm still running the stock Wrangler Duratracs in LT275/65R18 but would like to upsize. What size can I run in an 18" w/o rubbing?
First thing I’d do is crank your wheels about 80 to 90% max and see how much room you have to your mud flap. If you have a half an inch, you could go an inch. Would be a place to start?
If you are not adding width, offsets, or different wheels, it gets pretty straight forward.
I have ridge grapplers also. 275 70R 18 and run 30 psi all around for every day driving. What psi are you running?
I run mine pretty high. Near the top cold psi mark. Around 55 I think…
Are you running stock w/o a leveling kit? No rubbing ?
@@georgehernandez1502 I have a 2” Rough Country coil over leveling struts.
Does your truck come with a 2inch lift kit?
Yep. Trail Boss trim level comes with it.
Thank you! I have a 2021 stock AT4 and I am trying to decide between 285/65/20 or 275/65/20. I’ve seen a few videos with the 285s with no rubbing. But I’ve seen other videos, like yours, and they rub. Any ideas?
Do you have a level kit on?
Nope. Whatever is factory with the trail boss trim level is it.
You can get 20 inch wheels from the factory that look just like those!
What about us 18” TrailBoss wheel guys ?
My advise would be to aim for something close to that 34.1” diameter with a similar width. 285/70R18 is 33.98” It’s just under which is good since it’s 10mm wider. Obviously I haven’t tested that so it’s harder for me to tell you it will fit. Or just run the stock duratrac size if you’re just looking for the improved look and noise reduction. Common tire sizes are usually cheaper as well.
What about rim did u get offset?
Factory offset I believe. Mine are replicas.
Are those wheels oem or replica? I’d like to get those for mine.
Replica. They didn’t make all black 20”s in 2020. Voxx was the brand
@@TruckOwnership101 but still same offset as stock wheel?
Weird...I run same size tire and stock 20s with no spacers and have more room.
With all the new updates and changes GM made when releasing new models of the truck, could they not give us wider wheel Wells 😅 so we could install larger tires 😂
Nice setup 👌
This video will confuse 2022 and 2023 refresh trail boss owners. You can get bigger tires than these on your truck without rubbing.
Google the tire size on shows that it’s 32” tire why
No idea. Those would be smaller than stock I think… According the manufacturer, mine are exactly 34.09”
@@TruckOwnership101 thks
Nah! Six inch lift with 35's for the win!
Is your truck level
Factory Trail Boss lift. I thought that was just a 2” lift.
That rust on running boards 😢
Already replaced! Went with some amp PowerStep smart series. Powdered Coated Aluminum this time around. 👍Video on the channel already. 😊
Nitto tires suck they slide in rain
